Most days I do my part...some days I question. For me...it's about the effort I bring everyday and hope at the end of the day it brings me closer and closer to my goal. Great post...thanks for sharing.

How much did you lose before the WLS?
Spaness2012 replied to TheDuchess's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ask your surgery team but I was concerned about falling out of a higher bmi and insurance not approving me after the 6 months as well. But the doc said he submits the paperwork with my beginning weight and it all worked out. I lost 14 pounds on my own and another 14 or so on pre-op. Good luck to you. -
Great post! Congrats on all of your success!

Ohhhh the dreaded "patience" word. Not a strong suit of mine either but I can honestly say this whole process made me change this behaivor. I work on having more patience a little each day.....but it can make me a bit crazy as well. I can tell you......looking back on the pre-op...I'm am glad it took as long as it did. I learned alot, found this site, and prepared myself on being a banded person. Good luck! I am sure everything will work out just fine!

I believe our attitude and perception makes all the difference in the world. One might see a 5lb weight loss as "not enough".....I force myself to see it as "5lbs off and they stayed off...well that's a success". Thanks for this post!

Love your enthusiasm and commitment. You will be just fine! Good luck!

45lbs is alot of weight. My rule is.....if it comes off and stays off, it's considered successful! If you aren't already exercising.....this could jump start things for you. Good luck!

I received a Welcome Packet when I received the band. In it, it stated it was a standard lapband (which holds 10cc's). Maybe try asking for that packet. It comes with a card that has a regiatration number and info. Also, the card is good to carry...some resteraunt's honor it so you can order a child's plate.

I want to succeed at this...
Spaness2012 replied to PrettyThick1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lapband surgery isn't a cure and there will be alot of people who didn't use the tool the way it was intended and not lose or go back to their old behaivors. It's important to remember that the surgery doesn't make us lose weight...our behaivors and changes along the way do that. If you stay the course....stick to your Dr's plan and put the effort in....you will be so happy with the progress. I promise. Congrats! Remember we have all been where you are.....fearful and anxious...it's all part of the journey! -
What to do for a sugar craving
Spaness2012 replied to Deed2u's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I recently had a few bites of my hubby's dessert and I found it to be "not as yummy" as I was hoping it would be. I too feel like my sugar cravings subsided after I was banded and eating "cleaner". -
I too had to had to measure my success in other ways this week. It is so easy to fall back into negative thinking and overeating....thanks for reminding me that I have to regroup...even if that means an everyday mantra!

Great post! Thanks for sharing. It is a journey..not a sprint. Thanks for helping us keep our eyes on the prize! -
It's not about "perfect". It's about effort. And when you bring that effort everyday...that's when transformation begins!

Surgery in 2 days and scared of failure....
Spaness2012 commented on skenn31's blog entry in skenn31's Blog
It's not about "perfect". It's about effort. And when you bring that effort everyday...that's when transformation begins! You will be fine...take some deep breaths. Do this for yourself...and only yourself. -
Take a few deep breaths.......one moment at a time during these rough patches. I will be thinking of you and hoping you get some relief soon.

At the beginning of this journey, seeing other's pics was so inspiring. I dug deep today to find pics that represented why I embarked on the journey. My mind's eye couldn't SEE the progress until I put them side by side. I have a long way to go...but today I relished in how far I have come. I don't intend on giving up or giving in.....today I am as motivated as ever!

I just tell people I am really watching my portion sizes these days...or my favorite....I ate a big lunch not really very hungry. The subject usually changes naturally....lol. Good luck.

Yes!! This is all about you and for you. You deserve this and the people in your life will benefit as well. Congrats....I look forward to hearing about all your successes!

Uncharted Territory...

You look great and they fit perfecty. Congrats!! -
I feel the same way. I absolutely had to do this so that my MIND caught up with reality. The reality is...I was really FAT (not sure I wrapped my head around that 100%) and now the reality is that I am losing weight and my body shows it (not sure I understand that either)....lol. What a journey!! But seeing is believing...I really can't deny either any longer.

This is what only 45 pounds looks like!
Spaness2012 replied to Spaness2012's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Thanks! But honestly......I feel better than I look!! My knees no longer hurt, I am more agile, I move without hinderance, I sit on the floor with my sweet little girl in that picture for hours without needing a Uhaul to get me up. I didn't even know how bad I felt until I lost a little weight. Thank you for asking!! -
