  1. Today I am hungry! 3-4 hours between meals is getting harder. I can get a fill in a few weeks. I am following the rules...but they are getting hard as I become hungry. :(

    OMG Fiber!

I am having issues in that department too! I feel like I am taking alot of things to make me go...and it doesn't. Will I always have to "assist myself" to go? I guess this is something to speak to my doctor about when I see them in the next few weeks.

    What I really want...

You know what would be awesome...to start the video with our current weight.....and bust into the full dance routine after we lose a good bit!? shake it, shake it, shake it!!!

    I FINALLY hit 40!

Very nice accomplishment. Today I realized a similiar thing. As slow as the weight seems to be coming off...I realized that I have not been able to lose 30+ pounds in a long, long time. I have to count these successes! Congrats again.

    Hello ONEDERLAND!!!!!

I just got chills! I would love to see a 1 as the first number of my weigh again. I am pretty sure it has been years....maybe like 15 yrs. This is one of my short term goals as well. Congrats
  6. Sending positive thoughts and energy your way! I am sorry this has happened to you and your family. Be kind to yourself.

    My before and after pics.

What an amazing transformation! Thanks for sharing.
  8. I have had several people tell me how "good" I looked this week despite the scale not moving. I am putting in the work and have to remember there are other ways to measure success. Congrats on walking confidently into the doctors office. That's a big one.
  9. Not feeling well today. Just very tired......achy....overall blah! :(

    first post-new to site

I was banded early in February as well. The veterans will tell you that post op weight loss will slow down and it is normal. This is the time for healing not weight loss. I was a little frustrated with this as well but I keep logging calories and walking. I am sure the scale will start to move eventually. Congrats on your band! Good luck.
  11. "I tell myself, "it's hard." Then I tell myself, "Stop making excuses. You are a pig. You have no self control, no will power, no motivation. You're lazy." Basically I feel like I've tried another fad diet and failed." I am very NEW in my banded life so I don't have much to offer in terms of what works...yet. But here is what I have changed: I no longer allow myself to speak to "myself" this way. I try and be much kinder to myself and more forgiving. I try and love who I am even if I have a bad day, make a poor choice, or not exercise for a day or 2. I wouldn't talk to a stranger this way....I certainly shouldn't and won't speak to myself like this either. Forgive your short comings, be kind to yourself, and take it one day at a time...one rule at a time. Start by seeing your surgeon and be honest with where your head is. Good luck!

    My transformaton (so far)

It's an amazing transformation. Keep up the good work!! Any words of wisdom for us newly banded people?

    back on the losing track!

My scale has also stopped moving post surgery. Glad to here this good news! I know it will happen....but sometimes my patience thins out.

    10 days and counting

I have to agree. Who knows what my weight would balloon up to in 10 years....or what my insulin meds would be....or my blood pressure numbers. Or would I even see the next 10 years at a heavier weight. I will take my chances with the "tool" of the band and the lifestyle changes I am making. I will cross the "shelf life" when I get there. Hopefully...when I get there...I will be thinner and healthier for whatever is thrown my way. Good luck on your journey!
  15. I had some issues getting liquids down the first few days. I panicked a bit but the doc assured me to keep taking sips as often as possible. By the 3rd day I was getting more down. I also felt worse than I thought I would the first few days. If things don't get better...keep calling the doctor. Good luck. This too shall pass.

    AT GOAL!

    Just incredible!!
  18. I was grateful for a 6 month process before my surgery to work out the kinks mentally, emotionally, spirtually. It wasn't easy to comply wth the pre-op requirements and some days I fought it as well. But I did "do it" and I had to give up what I thought I could do and not do and DO what others said I needed to do to get the surgery. I wanted the surgery enough to follow the rules and get me that band. It took every minute of that 6 months to get me ready for banded life. And I'm glad to have made it through. Good luck on your journey!

    Pre-op liquid "D" word.

b***h away! Yes it does suck...but somehow we all dig deep enough and get it done! Cheers to your new journey!

    Question about Vomitting

I was very queasy when I woke up from surgery. I dry heeved several times......nurses were aware and just gave me more anti nausea meds. I was fine after I got home and didn't dry heeve again. I know it's scary but try and relax. If your still super nervous....call your surgery team and ask questions. If you are sipping and drinking your liquids easily....then I am sure things are fine. Congrats on your new band!

Update on progress and First Fill

Thank you for the summary of your visit. This was very helpful. My weight loss has stalled as well. I have bargained with myself to put the scale away for now. Now I just need to do it.

    3 days Post Op Observations

You will feel better and better each day! I am a little over 2 weeks post op and I am feeling back to normal. Port site isn't sore anymore...gas went away.....and eating "mushy food". I am so glad you all are feeling good!
  23. Wow....you look gorgeous! Congrats!
  24. I wore a pair of jeans the other day that I had not wore in months (pre band). They practically fell off of me...even with a belt. Today I went to the store to replace said jeans. At 251.......I wore a size 22 Now.......a size 16 I almost don't even really believe it. These jeans were purchased in the Misses section...not the Woman's section. Speechless and in Awe!
