    One Month Post Op

Yes I was on a preop diet and lost 15 pounds on the 2 week liquid diet. I also lost 14 pounds on my own when I was doing the 6 month evaluation that my insurance requirement. I have only lost 6 pounds since I was banded and recently the scale did not move an ounce.....it is starting to move slowly now that I am on solid foods. Congrats on your band. I look forward to seeing your successes!

    One Month Post Op

And joining a gym today. I have been happily walking (outside and on the treadmill) but thought I would kick it up a little. It has been years since I joined a gym and I am excited. Baby steps for me (gonna use the elliptical and other low impact machines until I am cleared for other activity). Another phase of the journey.....I am happy to be on the ride! Don't panic and keep moving! My motto for the day!

    One Month Post Op

No fills yet. I am scheduled for my first on 3/22. I am eating the way they suggested and hope the fill will help keep me fuller for longer. Congrats on your mile w/ hills!

This was not in the brochure

This made me laugh out loud as well!! Great post! I too was appalled when body gasses started actually speaking to me...loudly. It's like this band has a life all its own. Your doing great! Love your humor. PS: I am also aware of all the food commercials!! It's unbelievable....no wonder there is an obesity epidemic.

    disappointed

It is my understanding that we all feel this way until we reach our "green zones or sweet spots". This could take 3 or 4 fills or more (everone is different). As frustrating as this is....I think we just continue to walk the walk and fight the fight until that happens. Good luck! Stay positive.

    An "Interesting" Year (long, sorry)

I can feel the excitement jumping off the page! I am glad you went back.....I am glad you recommitted to the process. Congrats

    Leaving the hospital

Walk, walk walk...honestly....this is the only thing that helped me. Congrats on your band!

    So discouraged

Hi sweet girl! I too was also discouraged by the non weight loss. I just kept doing what I was doing and the scale has started creeping down again. Last week, I think I had a day where my food choices were high in sodium and gained a pound.....it quickly came off with better choices. Don't get discouraged. You are doing a great job!!

    Annoyed at loose skin comments

I find it funny that, in my world, I get asked this by "normal body weight" people. No fat person has asked me this...lol.

    Sooooo hungry!!!

I cooked for my kids too during this phase and it was frustrating. However, I just kept reminding myself that this is just a "phase" of the program and I will survive it. Just take it one sip at a time. I also took this time to make my kids things that didn't really tempt me to want to eat. I made them things that I normally don't want. They will get over it. Good luck and keep walking through it. It will get easier.

    Day 11 after surgury

Guilt is what made me fat! I would work on trying to not do things to make you feel guilty or move on from the incident. If you feel your band is ruined...call your Dr.

    Annoyed at loose skin comments

I find this question funny too. A few people have asked me similiar questions. Really? My BMI would have eventually killed me...and you want to know about how I'm gonna feel about loose skin? Ugh!
  14. That is awesome!! Good for you!
  15. Congrats!! Sending good thoughts and energy your way!

    24 hours after banding

My rock bottom was when I couldn't fit in a roller coaster with my 11 yr old son. I was mortified and so was he. I was banded last month. I too will go back and fit in that roller coaster sooner than later. Congrats on your decision.

    Feeling insecure

Yes it is an emotional journey. I promise you will look back and be grateful you had some time to get used to the idea if WLS. It took me 10 months to get banded from my initial exciting consulatation with my surgeon. In that 10 months...I cried, I beat myself up that I got so fat, I convinved myself I had no self control, I was excited, felt guilty, etc. etc. etc. But even with all those emotions....I started to learn to eat slower....take small bites.....chew my food....drink more water. I cherish those 10 months before the band. Because when the surgery finally got here....I was more ready than I was ever going to be! Be kind to yourself.....use this as a chance to slow your eating down...take smaller bites.....chew your food (regardless of what your eating or how much)! Sending good thoughts your way today!

    I Need This.....

I have been there myself. But I am not sure that I even realized that's why I was uninterested in attending. I commend you on your awareness of this. Looking back on the times I declined something....it was all about how uncomfortable I felt in my body and what would I wear that didn't make me look like 1000lbs. I will send good energy your way for a speedy approval. Keep your chin up and be nice to yourself.

some people have a lot of nerve! grrrrrr

Everyone has an opinion...but not everybody has lost 75lbs. Good for you! I have a thin sister and sister n law that eat like truck drivers right now. I am going to venture to say that right now...I could very well be the healthier one....even fat. Keep up the excellent work....I am certain you could teach all of us a thing or 2.

    Need some motivation please

54lbs is alot of weight!! Congrats on your success. It didn't take me a year to put on 75lbs.......it took me years and years. I expect to lose a little here and a little there...and then I expect to keep it off. 54lbs is your motivation. With another fill...get your head back in the game and you will get there! I know it. Good luck
  25. Welcome to the other side! Rest up and be nice to yourself. Congrats.
