I love this! Thank you for sharing what this means to you. Today I realized that I need to be proud of what I have accomplished "to-date". Not to be branded successful at goal. There are so many daily accomplishments I can be proud of today!

I'm glad your feeling better! It will only be better from here.

I'm glad you went in and saw the doctor. I hope you are feeling better soon! -
Yes! Pre-op is very hard! Congrats for getting it done! Looking forward to hearing about your success.

Booked! Now scared and excited all at the same time
Spaness2012 replied to Mandymoo13's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My weight loss is a collective effort. Some I did on my own...some from pre-op...some after banded. I do feel much better! For me.....having a good attitude and keeping my spirits up has helped me along the road. It's not all been easy and sometime's it takes every ounce of resolve I have. They didn't promise me it would be easy.....just worth it! Good luck! -

Yay! Congrats to you. I love your excitement and good attitude! Things are gonna be just fine for you! -
I am certain we have all encountered all of this! I agree with you and applaud your honesty. I just keep telling myself that what works for one doesn't always work for me...and this is my journey and not someone else's. I take what I think can apply to me...and I leave the rest! You are a great source of inspiration for us newbies...please keep posting and shedding light on the day to day trials and tribulations! Thank you!

Aww...I feel you! I just finished up mine a few days ago and last week....I thought I could eat a cow! Talk about the "white knuckle week"...seriously! I can only offer that I just tried to take it one day at a time...one meal at a time. I went to bed early.....made myself exercise....and powered through! I can so relate to your post!

Still on the Fence Should I take the jump?
Spaness2012 replied to cjd3161's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Please get as much information about this surgery as you can put your hands on! First of all....your doc is not a bariatric surgeon and I would get advice from a specialist rather than a PCP. This is so "not the easy way" out!. I have worked harder and been more committed to this process than I ever was doing other weight loss programs. The band will not work with me if I am not willing to change my bad habits. If I eat too much, I will have complications. If I eat the wrong things...I will be hungry all the time (banded or not). It took me 10+ months to really decide if I could subscribe to a "bandster life". This is a "tool" that requires alot of information, committment, and quite frankly...is not for everyone. Get the info, empower yourself, make your own decision! Good luck! -
An't it funny.... How things work out.
Spaness2012 replied to BayougirlMrsS's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It's all divine timing sometimes. I feel like I wouldn't have been ready to make this lifestyle change any sooner or any later. I was ready when I did it...more than ready. And the Universe conspired to make that happen. All financial and insurance ducks in a row. I put alot of thought into the money I did have to come up with for the surgery (is it worth it....could I put the money away for the kids....you know...always putting my needs last). I am soo glad I put myself first this time. The value of me being healthier and possibly living longer for these kids......well I can't put a value on it! -
Congrats on breaking the plateau! I try not to eat after dinner but I too have those days where I am always hungry! I find that protein is the only thing that helps me too. A few slices of turkey or chicken usually help. Thanks for your post!! I sometimes feel guilty about doing this but I have been good about distinguishing between head hunger and real hungry. Lately...it's definitley been real!

I know.....all of the recommendations and suggestions seem to change for me too. It's crazy sometimes. I'm sorry you didn't get your fill. Keep on...keeping on. -

My goal weight is 150 as well! Halfway there is huge! Nice work!! -
Thought for the week ... Rather than aiming for being perfect, just aim to be little bit better today than you were yesterday. I love that. I may adopt the same daily mantra! Thanks for sharing.

Getting back on track......
Spaness2012 replied to akwright68's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love your post! I too have to remember every single day to put myself and this process first. One of the hardest things to do but necessary. I am sure you will do just fine. This is a whole lifestyle change and acknowledging what is working and what isn't right away will help us get to where we want to go. Be nice to yourself. -
Tomorrow is the big day!

Congrats. Take things slow. Don't rush the healing. Welcome to the other side! -
Love this! You got this......you so do! Keep your spirits high and your attitude good.

Questions I wished I had asked.....
Spaness2012 replied to erinkenben's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think I would have asked more questions about "bandster hell" as well. They did not really explain this time before fills very well! -
No longer feeling out of control/ ready to move on...
Spaness2012 replied to NYC1992's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
All very informative responses. I will only add that the first few days of the liquid diet was brutal for me. I felt exactley the way you did...but when I stuck to the plan and drank all the shakres required (I wasn't allowed anything other than broth and sf popsicles), I found that the panic subsided, the cravings calmed, the head hunger could be redirected. I promise that this is the hardest part. Congrats on your commitment and your journey! -
The animations made me laugh (which also burns some calories)...lol.

What a great post! Thanks for the reminder to accept the process and to be patient! I know I need to be reminded of this all the time!
