    My first Fill

    Nice work!

    Here goes!!!

Congrats on taking back your life! I related to alot of what you said. Lots of the same reasons I was banded as well. I turned 40 this past December and I said that I would not wait another year to get the help. I call this year Transformation 40! And it has already proved to be successful! Keep this great attitude and you will do fine. Congrats again.

    Reality Check

My reality check came when I had to decide to be happy and proud of my progress TODAY! I can't look at how much more weight I need to lose. That could be "forever" from now. I have to be proud of where I am right now. Because it's a long way from where I began. And when I started this, I didn't think I could lose 5 pounds and keep it off.... Congrats on where you are today! And the progress you have made on the journey!

    Yeah !! Weight loss

I learned alot on pre-op....that I am stronger than I thought. Post op choices just seem easier to make. Congratulations!

Day 4 and not doing so well

I agree with this! It's ok to heal and do nothing! Please take this time for yourself to try and not be a superhero. Easier said than done since I suffer from this superhero disorder as well. Take some deep breaths, reserve your energy, cry if you must (its cleansing), and be very, very kind to yourself. I promise...every day from here will get better and easier! Sending good thoughts your way!

    Pregnancy question

Boil some ginger root and drink the broth. This will help. Feel better!

    Banded 3-22... Question

They just want to make good and sure you have proper healing time. I know it's frustrating.

    Scared

Being scared is normal! I obsessed about the rules and everything I thought I would have to give up, but when your banded and following the rules...you realize you aren't really giving up that much....but what you are gaining is so much more! Congrats and good luck!

    Banded 3-22... Question

Not the only one. Hunger comes back with a vengeance. Mine came back about 8 days post op. Unfortunately...this is where the mental work begins. Its mostly sheer will and want power until you can have your band properly adjusted.

    First Fill Tomorrow

Had mine done on Friday. I had alot of anxiety for nothing! It was done before I even knew it. I said to the doctor, "that was it"? He said.."yup". I said well then I am bummed because I thought it would be more dramatic. He said, "sorry to disappoint you." LOL....you'll be fine! My fill made alot of difference so far. Good luck.

    AM I REALY READY?

Yes...pre-op for me was the hardest part! But necessary and helpful for being after banded. For me...it was a mental game. I wouldn't think of it as 11 days (it might as well have been 11 years for me). I only told myself that I CAN do it for TODAY. Can you do this for today? You already have 4 days in...the answer is...yes you can! You already are. Congrats on your decision. Keep up the good work.

    Not So Scary

Excellent! And sounds delicious. Did you use whole wheat elbow macaroni or something else?

Pregnancy After Lap Band At 35??

I have read that some get the surgery pre-baby because ther weight is making them infertile. You only need to lose a small amount of weight to get your hormones back in gear. It would be easier to lose some weight first or you may struggle just to get pregnant all together. Good luck on your decision!

    Hit a mile marker today

    Wow!! Good for you. Congrats!!

    Survived initial consult ..barely

If you start not feeling comfortable with your surgeon....make sure you interview a few. It's important to feel comfortable. This journey is an emotional one......learn as much about the journey as you can. Good luck!

    My little NSV's

It's the small things that are improving around us that we need not forget! The scale doesn't always tell the story! Congrats!

    Weight Gain

Some wise bandsters told me to have patience during this time. This is something I had to work at very hard. But they are right....don't panic....have patience. Keep on keeping on.

Are you a Pessimist or an Optimist

Wow! Incredible blog! Thank you for sharing this very intimate time with us. Today I looked in the mirror after reading your post and asked the question. Today I am an optimist and if tomorrow it's the other......I will choose "the optimist". I lost my Mom to ovarian cancer 4 years ago, and like your Mom so eloquently stated. "We are ok...but we will never be the same." Good thoughts and intentions for you and your beautiful Mother.

    Port tube twisted?

Let us know what the doc says. It could be that your weight loss is allowing the tube to shift. Try not to panic until you speak to your doc. Was the esophagus issue due to being too tight?

Getting nervous and low grade fever

Call your doc and have them check for an infection. Feel better soon.
  25. I had this feeling up until about 3 weeks post op. I didn't really call it "stuck" as I didn't PB or have it come back up. It did just sit there for a few minutes. It is frustrating....but now is the time to eat very slowly (even pudding, yogurt, etc.) Learn the signals from your body. Hiccups, burping. For me it's a small burp sensation. This is your body telling you to put away what your eating. My head doesn't always want to accept this but my body is the boss now. Everyday will get better and better and then you will realize that it can hold more and more food and then another mental battle will ensue. Be patient! You are doing great!
