My name's Amy, I'm 30, have a BMI of 31...and am having surgery tomorrow (Eeeek!) had my bloods done today, now waiting in a hotel near the hospital (Dolan Park near Birmingham, UK) . Great to find a place for other low BMI bandsters....worry that other people find it a bit annoying that I have only 50lbs to lose....though it seems plenty to me!

I'm out and feeling good! Wounds are really neat and finding it easy to drink water....and the morphine's pretty nice too!! Good luck to everyone waiting to be banded xxxx -

Hi! I'm self pay. The national health service will pay for some operations but you usually have to have a bmi of 40 or over, and there can be a long wait. The cost was £4995...which I think may be less than it costs in the US? (not sure about currency conversion at the moment!)
