  1. Hello! I recently had my band removed on the 7th of June, last Thursday, due to a major slip. I had the band for 5 years and had many complications with it. Finally, it got to the point that I could no longer eat solid food and it had to come out. Everything went well with the surgery, however every time I eat a meal I get the same excruciating pain in my shoulder, usually the left one. I had been experiencing it all the time after surgery but I knew it was just air from the procedure and a lot of it ended up coming out. It has almost been a week and I am worried that the pain isn't from gas or air? I have tried EVERYTHING I could find to rid myself of the air. I have walked tons, applied a heating pad to the areas of pain, walked some more, taken Gas-X, everything! Like I said, it is every time I eat a meal or drink a lot of liquid. Any thoughts? Has anyone else experienced this? All advice welcome! Thanks!!

    Slipped Band

I actually just had my band removed on Thursday due to a major slippage. From what I have experienced, slippage actually takes quite a long time. It will slip a little at first and you may have vomiting, trouble eating certain foods, acid reflux, etc. If it isn't taken care of, it can continue to slip more and more to the point of no return. If it is only slipped slightly, your doctor can take the Fluid out and it may return to it's original position. Mine however, slipped to the point of no return and I decided to have it removed. My symptoms were I wasn't able to eat ANY solid food without horrible, excruciating stomach pains. Just check with your doctor if there are any doubts! Better safe than sorry.
