I know it's hard trying to sip all day long and what's with the saliva in overdrive I can't seem to stop producing spit I'm trying not to swallow to much it makes me gag after awhile lol hopefully it will get better as the days go by Sent from my iPhone using VST

Surgery went well yesterday I was up and walking around ...gas pain is manageable.. 2nd day is alot better they are taking away the morphin pump today and I'm waiting for my Clear liquids ... Doc says if I can keep liquids down today I can probaly go home tonight if not I'll stay one more night ... Also their monitoring my heart rate it's kind of low in the 50's.... Hi I'm scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Monday been marking the days off on my calender lol my shipment from unjury arrived today I got the chicken broth and unflavored Protein. Trying to get all of the housework done and laundry and I need to go buy more make it yourself type meals ( microwave 4 kids ) I haven't been able to sleep lately just thinking about it. I'm a bit nervous on how I'm going to feel after I wake up. Been trying to follow everyone who was sleeved this week on how they were feeling so i can be prepared. I know how you feel my day is on Oct. 29th and I'm on a all liquid diet yuk!!!well I'm 40 and my feet are starting to hurt. I suffered for years with my gallbladder couldn't take it out didn't have insurance at that time and then I had thyroid cancer so another surgery to have my thyroid totally taken out now I'm on medicine for the rest of my life for that my endo doctor said my gallbladder and thyroid cancer are results from being obese all of my life and next in line would probaly be high blood pressure, diabeties so I'm nervous this will be surgery number 4 for me but I thinks it's time to make a change. 29 here also on day 2 of my pre-op diet not bad yet... But during dinner my mouth started watering and i had an overwhelming urge to lick my kids plates clean so I sat down and had my broth YUM!!!!!!

My day is on Oct.29 at 10:00 a.m. I was told to go about a week or so before my day so I went on Oct 17th to reg. and do the pre-op stuff my doctors office had already sent over my info ...they did blood work , EKG , urine, and ask questions about past surgeries and if I had any problems with anesthesia then I was given info on what to do the night before and where to check in and where to park. This is all i had to do. If your day is close call you dr office to confirm on what to do and where to go.. Getting all this done before makes checking in a little smoother. Good luck

Good for you!!!! Yep that's what I had to do the leg work lol and i found out i was approved before my doctors office. I read somewhere on this forum that you have to be your own advocate and I figured my coordinator is working with so many patients trying to get them approved and I was already denied once so I didn't want to wait around any longer. I hope you find out your date soon and post when you do. ???? Alicia

I hope you feel better soon I was suppose to have surgery on the 9th but date got changed to the 29th I've been watching for your post to see how you were feeling afterwards. I feel your pain. I was back and forth with Cigna for about 2 months. My doctors office submitted paperwork on August 2 and i was denied the same day because the hospital my surgeon works with Cigna doesn't see them as a 3 star center of excellence for bariactrics and they are dual certified. So we tried to show them that they were but Cigna said no and they only approve one hospital here in Houston so we had to change the hospital on the paperwork and luckily my surgeon has privileges at the hospital or I would have had to transfer all my paperwork to a surgeon who works with that hospital. So we resubmitted the paperwork with new hospital and I was approved within 5 days surgery on October 29 but during those 2 months i called everyday to Cigna and I too got different answers and I hated having to repeat my story each time and Each time I called I told them every rep gives me a different answer and I need to talk to someone who can help me sort through all of the crap you are telling me and i did i called several times a day until i got someone who helped me out and we were on the phone together for about 40 mins. i was on hold most of the time but she would go back and forth until she found out what the problem was and after that i called back the next day several times to check and yep finally the reps were giving me the same answers. So don't give up call, call, call until you are satisfied. Good Luck

Well I was all set for Oct. 9th should of been starting my pre-op diet but went to my pre-op appt. and was told I was scheduled at the wrong hospital since Cigna doesn't approve my surgeons hospital we have to go to the only hospital Cigna does approve here in Houston which is crazy since Houston has a huge medical center it's a thing my husbands company has with Cigna but I found out I'm not the only patient he has affiliated with the same company and we all have the same hospital issue so now I'm waiting to find out the date. It seems like its taking forever my 6 months was over in July and was denied on August 9th because of the hospital finally approved in September now waiting for that date. Well I've been at it since february I guess I could wait alittle longer. Everyone have a wonderful afternoon.

No they are suppose to call me today and let me know and husband is waiting also so he can take a week off and I had it all planned out for October 9th I have kids so I bought alot of make yourself type meals things they can throw in microwave (ages 15,14,8,7) oh well I'm going to have to make sure they don't eat it all up lol

I agree it's better to do it now than wait until it gets really painful. I suffered for years until one night I woke up crying couldn't hardly walk it was worse than having labor contraction's at least those come and go this was a non stop pain and I had 4 kids. I went in at about midnight and had surgery at 8 a.m. I had a big one and one stuck in the opening the Dr. said it looked really bad and it was so swollen and he said I should of had it removed along time ago and he said he was surprised I lasted this long. So don't wait until it gets to that point. Good luck

It's about time after almost 2 months going back and forth with Cigna was denied once because of hospital we change hospitals and got that approval and a date October 9th yay!!! My pre-op appt. is tomorrow I meet again with the doctor and I guess i get all the info for the pre-op diet. The only thing that worries me well for now anyways is the out of pocket portion for the dr. still waiting to find out. I've been trying to call the hospital to find their out of pocket cost as well left a message so far no one has called me back they like to tell you at the last minute but i want to know ahead of time so that way i know how much i looking at. I hear ya I fought Cigna for almost a month and a half was deneid once because they don't reconize the hospital my surgeon works in as a center of excellence even though they are dual certified and Cigna only approves one hospital for WLS here in Houston and Houston having a big Medical Center I thought that was crazy but luckly my surgeon has privileges at Methodist so we resubmitted the paperwork and i was approved in less than five days so now i'm just waiting on a date. I actually almost threw up in my car when she said yes i was finally approved i was dry heaving so bad people was looking at me lol. So now I'm going through all the emotions I can't sleep and when i do i dream about it lol. I'm driving my husband crazy talking about it with all of the yes and no's and what if's. Waiting for a date so husband can take vacation time from work to help taxi the kids back and forth to school (4 kids ages 15-7) starting to plan what to buy for kids to eat things they can cook themselves and in the microwave because husband is not a cook but he does do well on the BBQ pit lol. I hope to lose enough weight by March Houston has a huge Rodeo with theme park type rides I would love to be able to ride the roller coaster with my kids and bumper cars well i want to ride all of them lol and not just be the bag and cup and stuff animal holder while i sit there and watch everyone have a good time. ok so i did everything i was suppose to and i was denied right away so yesterday i finally found out why...I'm going through memorial hermann hospital here in houston well cigna said its not a contracted bariatric place of excellence but they are they are dual certified so the lady look up the hospital and my dr. name and said they are showing up in the system as being a place of excellence so she put me on hold to talk to someone in the approval department well to find out it's and error in cigna system on the name of the hospital and how it was entered in their system so Memorial Hermann Hospital is a place of excellence but not contracted for bariatrics and she said it says that Memorial Hermann Hospital System (MHHS) is so someone added system to the end of the hospitals name???So i was like how can this get fix and she told me she wasn't sure and she has to talk to her supervisor make them aware of the problem and take it from there...so i have to decide if i want to wait around to see if this gets fixed or do i start looking for a different dr. I mean would i be able to transfer everything i did to a new dr. or do i have to start all over again...I'm waiting for my coordinator to call me back so i can find out what my options are but last time i talked to her she asked me to wait a little longer because the hospital was talking with cigna to work out what ever problems there was but this was before i found out about the issue with the name...I also want it done before January so I don't have to pay for all this out of pocket expenses again...this has me going crazy but i did find out through my dr. office im not the only one someone else that has cigna and thats from the same company my husband works for was also denied for the same reason so I thought that was weird....
