    Psych Eval Nerves!

Good for you! Keep us posted on the rest of your journey!
  2. Your accomplishments so far are awesome! Just keep remembering that... As far as body issues, you can do specific exercises that target those areas of need. I have done this for my tummy and butt and it seems to be working.

    Scars

I started at 6 weeks when my dr gave me tho ok to take baths and get in the pool. I use the Mederma scar cream. I am almost 4 months out and only the biggest scar (2cm) is still a little visible.

    Post Op, Its Official

Wow you sound like your doing really well! Good for you, you are in much better shape than I was! Keep up the good work and keep us posted! Welcome to the club!
  5. During my pre op diet I was, well... miserable. It is just something you push through. I would drink my shake first then cook dinner and leave the room. I know that is not ideal, but it made it bearable. Afterwards I was never hungry, I did however crave being able to chew. You should just avoid going out for the first month or so. Once you get on solid foods you can try going to a restaurant, but I would suggest nibbling off your families plates and avoid spicy foods for awhile. Another good thing to remember, if it was hard for you to digest prior to surgery it will be three times worse after. It DOES get better lol. I am almost 4 months out and I can pretty much eat whatever I want, I avoid specific foods though. My meal size is 2.5 ounces and I am still struggling to get all my protein in (shakes for breakfast are best). Everyone is different, just follow your Dr. orders, and I wish you the best of luck! Keep me posted!
  6. Feeling good today! :)

Don't be nervous about the psych eval! They are just trying to make sure you are of sound mind to handle the changes that are about to come your way. Mine was more of a conversation. It's ok to admit that you have a weight problem, that's why your there to fix it. Good luck to you!

    Sleeved Oct 2

I also mixed the whey protein( it's like syrup) with water and drank that.
  11. The first week after my surgery my hormones were all over the place! I would cry if I couldn't get my whole cup of water down in the allotted time! Just remember its worth it, and surround yourself with supportive people! The emotions will go away eventually!

    Finally!

I had my surgery this morning! I have manageable pain and I haven't pressed the pain killer button since 2 o'clock. I have already Ben up walking and hope it continues to improve from here!
  17. I am having my surgery tomorrow morning 6/19/12. I am really excited and I am starting to get a little nervous. I have never had any sort of surgery before. This week with the pre-op diet has been full of highs and lows but I stuck with it and lost 8 pounds. Towards the end I was fighting the shakes so much I would rather go without until my husband reminded me of my health. I joined this forum awhile back and I have been reading all of the wonderful posts preparing for this big adventure. I am fully aware of the ups and downs and all of the hard work that will take place. I am trying to encourage myself to follow instructions and just take the best care of myself as I can, this is a life change! I will be in touch with pictures and updates. Wish me luck!

Need Surgeon Recommendations In The Houston, Tx Area

I used Dr. St. Laurent out of Willowbrook Methodist, he and his staff are amazing. They hold monthly seminars where you can go see what all three procedures are like. He will explain the risks, benefits, and expectations of each. He has a nutritionist on staff that works with you throughout the process. They are all amazing he performs the surgery in four different hospitals and covers almost all insurances. http://www.drstlaurent.com/
