I totally understand! I had a meltdown yesterday. It wasn't pretty. I think for me at least, its hard not having the energy that I want to do what I need. I'm overwhelmed with everything. You are not alone.

How Long Should It Take To Drink A Protein Shake?
mverges replied to vinnyfan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im only a few days out, but I was told that should aim for 5-8 oz per hour. But I'm guessing that's just at first. I don't want to stretch my sleeve either, or cause a leak. But I'm finding myself feeling like I take in more too. -

Day 2 And I'm So Hungry
mverges replied to klaaspice's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am totally dealing with being hungry. It sucks. My mind is saying, "you crazy fool! You haven't had real food in a week!". But my stomach wins out, newly sleeved on Monday. But I know it's hard. So hard. -
I had a BMI of 36 when I had my surgery this past Monday. If you are self pay, more doctors might be willing to do it. I'm not sure if insurance would cover it. It's worth looking into.

Question About Oatmeal
mverges replied to Diane Cuva's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doc said that once I'm able to be on full liquids, around week 2, that thinned oatmeal is fine. And my nutritionist said that I can totally add Greek yogurts and/or protein powder to it. That way it sticks around longer. I was also told to eat way slow, so I don't get sick. Apparently swallowing oatmeal is different from liquids. -
I've been having those new Ensure Clear drinks. They are a little high in sugars and carbs, but do have 9 oz of protein. I'm only going to drink those for a few more days. Then when I can, onto full liquids. It's one of the few things sitting well with me, so I figured I'll take it!

I was sleeved on the 16th too! I'm also worried about leaks. my gas pain has gone down, but I'm still all gurgle-y. Small price compared to the gas pains.

So glad you are doing well! Prayers for diminished heart burn and lots of comfy sleep!

I know what you mean! My tummy is not hungery (well maybe just a little). But my head is starving!

Prayers for you! Keep us posted on how you are doing. I was sleeved Monday! Can't wait to hear about how it goes for you. Yay! -
How long was your drain in? And did it hurt when they took it out?
-
So my head is hungry. My stomach is not of course. Im only a few days out of surgery, I was sleeved on Monday. But my head knows I haven't had real food since Friday. So, all those darned food commercials are not easy to watch. I'm no where near ready for food. But I finally understand the whole head hunger thing. Ugh!
-
How are you feeling? Most of my gas pain is gone. But my incision sites hurt.
-
That's a good idea, thanks!
-
Now my drain is less blood, and more clear. I'm hoping this is a good thing?

Incision Feels Like It's Ripping
mverges replied to cutisnurse21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on Monday, and most of the gas pain is gone. But my belly button incision really hurts, and where the drain is. It hurts to breathe deeply or sit and stand. Once I'm up standing or down sitting it's fine. The drain site really hurts though.
