    Trying To Keep It Together

I took my que on who i could tell about wls by how the important people in my life took the news. My mother was immediately cautionary about it but i can't blame her since im her sweet little girl who she will love no matter what. Aside from that i only told people that have bothered to keep up with me. I work in a very close-knit environment where sometimes it feels just like high school. I hated being gossiped about then and the thought of coworkers doing it now makes me see red. I don't care if they guess later but i certainly am not looking to bring them into my circle of trust any time soon. I will take it one step further to say that not even my partner will know unless its absolutely necessary.

    August Roll Call

Ugh. I can't believe it. In just a few short hours of sleep i "dream cheated" three times on this whole postop diet. Each time i woke up and had to make sure i hadn't slept walked and actually gone into my kitchen and ate something solid. If this keeps up then the rest of the week is gonna be a total trip. Anyone else dream of eating solids?

    August Roll Call

4th day post op and while I feel better I also notice I am not drinking much at all and I am just totally uninterested in anything with flavor that I would have to drink. I managed coffee this morning and that has been it beside a bit of water. I can't wait to be off thin liquids and on to full thickness liquids. Truely a protein shake never sounded so good. Now I am actually craving it. I hope everyone else is bumping along ok with this new situation we find ourselves in.

    August Roll Call

I was banded yesterday. I had lapband with imbrication. Felt horrible at first but totally get how walking after helps the discomfort.

    Earlier Surgery Date!!

Congrats! I too just received a call saying i was approved (3weeks sooner than expected) and am able to schedule asap. Now a few nerves have kicked in.
  6. I am just curious if there are many folks on here that had the extra weight since childhood like I did or has most everyone known at one time what it was like to be thinner? I know people will gain weight for different reasons whether it is illness, having kids, just not taking care of themselves, whatever. As my story tells, I am facing my 30th birthday in a few months and I have had weight issues for at least 2/3 of my life. I have no idea what I might look like without the round face or rolls of fat I try to hide with baggy clothes. To be honest, I am almost terrified to meet her. I may not have always liked my looks while being big but by this age I have at least made peace with what looks I was dealt. Not only that but everyone in my life knows me like this and loves me despite how I am. How will they react to the new person they will be seeing once I start taking off the weight? Has anyone else had to wonder this? How did you deal with it?

    No Drinking While Eating

I just don't understand why you shouldn't drink while eating. I am pre surgery so i haven't had whatever experience you all are sharing. It just seems counter intuitive to not be able to drink some while eating. Can anyone explain this for me. I am a big fan of learning from other folks mistakes but not without reasons.

This Site Might Just Be My Life Saver

I stumbled onto this while looking for some recipes I might want to try once I am finally banded. WHAT A GOLDMINE!!! I feel so much less alone now after reading just a handful of entires and a few topics in the forums. I know I am accountable for my own success but I am so much more inspired now. I know I can do it. I had been toying with the idea of starting a blog about this whole journey so that my family and friends can join me on it by reading my struggles and victories as I feel my way through this. This is makes it so much easier.

Never Know Til You Try It

I am always looking for different stuff to try in the kitchen... I stumbled onto this site looking for recipes. I am all about non-traditional ways for making things taste amazing yet healthy. My newest creation is gonna be a favorite. Hot Carob Drink 1c. UNSWEETENED Almond Milk 2tbs. Powdered Stevia sweetner 1tbs. Carob powder 1/2tsp. vanilla extract Heat together in a saucepan, whisking to break clumps. Do not boil! You can adjust some of the amounts a little if you want. I can't tell if many people use carob or stevia but both are awesome alturnatives to the traditional chocolate or artificial sweeteners. If you aren't familiar with them I recommend researching it for yourself.

Looking For Pcos Stories Of Encouragement

I have PCOS as well. I am pre-op still but I join you in the hope that these issues will subside as the weight takes a hike. I am more than happy to share any changes I notice once I am that side of the process.
