    TWO years at GOAL!

Wow! Thanks for sharing! I am still in the waiting game to be banded and I look forward to hearing success stories =) Keep up the good work and keep inspiring us to do the same!

    Crazy Skinny Goals!

I just want to go off a diving board again at our local pool and not be humiliated trying to swim back up and to the side. I also want to race my kids up the stairs to the big water slide. My my biggest "secret" goal is to have my hip bone rub up against my husband when we hook up and not be seperated by inches of fat belly. No goal is to crazy!! Let's do this!!

What if i dont want to diet?

Try to think of it more as a lifestyle change. Just like you, I am hoping that me and my band will figure out together what agrees with me and what doesn't. Also, something to consider is that this particular surgery works best for "volume eaters" that need portion control versus those that graze constantly or will cheat with ice cream, milkshakes, or other slider foods. Good Luck!!

    Depressed

Hang in there....if you have anxiety over eating but are struggling with other personal problems right now I understand how it would slow you down. Right now you are controlling what you are eating but not in control of the other stresses. One step at a time. Maybe add in some similar foods of similar consistency and work your way up to "normal" food again.....and help is out there for your other problems as well, take care of yourself =)
  5. I am finaly at the stage where I am going to have my sleep study next week...this is making me freak out just a bit! I am worried that I won't be able to fall asleep, or that I'll do something "weird" in my sleep, or that I will find out I have horrible sleep apnea....who had to do a sleep study and how did it go? Any pointers? Thanks in advance =)

    Sushi

I am also pre-surgery and hear that the band is so fickle that there is no rule as to what you can or can't have....just that you have to find out for yourself. I don't plan on saying goodbye with any particular food but rather saying good bye to the amount of food that I'm used too....like the three unneccesary plates at the Chinese Buffet. Good Luck =)

This Isnt How I Thought Id Feel!

I agree. There is NO WAY that your weight loss is not noticible. I plan on picking a simple outfit, like a black tank and shorts, and take my picture on the monthly marks even if it's just for me to see. I also can't imagine you still wear the same size so use that as a reassurance that you are loosing when you get discouraged. I too am pissed that I let myself go. I am also someone who has already lost 80 pounds just to gain it back and trust me, the guilt and hate I feel is dibilitating on some days. All i can do is look at where I am today, and if I can loose 42 pounds after my band, well, that's 42 pounds less of fat and baggage I have to carry around with me every day. Good luck and keep you head up!!

Starting To Hate Chicken... Already :-(

Honestly, chicken is my least favorite protien!! I am by no means a vegetarian, but I plan on sticking with soft and moist fish after my surgery, soft boiled eggs, etc. Good luck, just think that it sucks for you but others are ANXIOUS to get there!! Good luck =)

    Um...i Have A Crazy Question.

I posted this same thing a few months ago and my responses were anywhere from that same week to a few weeks. I like you also am pretty "acticve" with my hubs and I know that after my C-sections, which most people said was much, much worse, it was only like three weeks...so we'll see!! Good luck =)
  10. I'm not offended lol...I think its hilarious a doctor said something so non-politically correct!

    Loose Skin

My surgeon said not to stress out about it too much and my exercise specialist said to just keep doing some hand weights while watching tv and walking. I dissagree that being fat is better than some sag. I speak for myself but if you are fat you take up so much space, face is huge, look crappy in pics or dressed up for weddings etc......if you are saggy tuck that **** into a spanx and work it girl! Good luck =)

    Silly Nsv

That's awesome. What is more awesome than your socks fitting is that you are ROLLER SKATING!! That would be a NSV for me in the first place! Have fun =)
  13. I have been there once already.....gained it all back which is why I'm getting the band this time.... CONGRATS! Best feeling ever!!
  14. OMG that's so hilarious and offensive at the same time LOL!!

    Tall Boots/fat Calves??

I doubt it....those boots are made for a certain leg shape, fat or not. My husband asked me to wear white gogo boots for our 10 year anniversary in Las Vegas and I ordered a pair online that were marked "plus-size". Yeah right! I don't think they'll ever fit. I am going to add some rivets and lace them up the back.

What Would You Wear If You Lose Weight?

Stilletos Animal prints (in moderation) Colored jeans Skinny jeans Leggings Boots .....basically anything that doesn't look like it's strait from Mrs. Roper's closet. Even at trendy fat stores like LB and Avenue, those flowy tops in the big sizes make me feel ridiculous!!

    Toys?

Even though you tried to be honest with her....it might have been just too much to tell you over coffee. I once found a website that had been bookmarked and thought okay...deep breath...he is still a man and I am still the only one he is physically intimate with. I then joked about it like....oh oh! guess what I found?? Our toys are only for us together, I'm just not the type to whip out a vibrater on a night he's out with the guys but that's just me. Good luck

    Sexual Question For The Ladies

I have been married 10 years....some of them thin, some of them fat....and fat right now waiting in line to be approved for my surgery! But we are still "active" at least three times a week (that is our current marital commitment we made after some hectic life and ridiculous dry spells) I agree with ALL of those that say it's just a mental thing. My husband loves driving me wild as much as I love to drive him crazy. When I am pleasing him I am not thinking about love handles, stray hairs, or any other crazy things. I am just thinking that I am so in love with this man I'm making love to. He pinky swears me the same thing and I have learned to say F-it, I'm fat but I'm not dead and I'm lucky to be in a great marriage with someone who wants to be with me and make me happy in and out of the bedroom. Go for it girl! Afterwards I doubt you will say you wish you didn't do that LOL.

    Sex And A Port?

I posted something similar a few months ago about how long you have to wait before hooking back up and most people said the recovery was only a few days. I too think about this a lot but figure, yes, if it hurts that way then switch, and when we are thinner girl we'll be more confident too Thanks for your honesty. We only have each other.
  20. Just like you I am pre-surgery. I began my journey in March 2012 and nine months later am still running on the hamster wheel to get my *** approval for a completely covered surgery. I would LOVE to share my story with you and my journey, if you are interested please read my blog =) www.mybandemonium.blogspot.com Thank you and GOOD LUCK to everyone.

Worried That I Will Never See The Difference

I for sure see a difference! Congrats! I have an opposite problem...as someone that has been thing, I forget day to day what I look like now (top weight) until I see a picture of myself and then I'm like WTF....oh yeah.... I am still waiting for my *** approval but can't wait to be in your shoes...keep it up, girl!!

    Not Happy!!!

I'm so sorry to hear you feel frustrated....your feelings are very normal. Loosing the weight slowly makes the regain less likely, so try and focus on that. If you are used to losing faster, but always regain, then just see this as a completely different opportunity. I have not been banded yet so of course my fear is going through all of this and not losing significantly. Then I think that ANY weight loss is better than where I am now =) Keep up the good work!

    Sleep Study Time!

Thanks for everyone's support. My sleep study did indeed suck and it turns out I have SEVERE sleep apnea. You can read all about it if you choose on my blog. Going one step at a time...
