    This is me now

Welcome! My name is Rosie too =) I am in your shoes with the whole Italian festivities thing. I have always been a yo-yo dieter and finally had enough. I just got banded yesterday and I am anxious to see how it all goes. I am still in shock that it really happened and that the band is now inside of me...very surreal feeling after an 11 month wait to get the surgery. Good luck on your journey!

    Surgery Scheduled for March

Congrats! My surgery also went well, although I had nausea off and on all of yesterday and even threw up a little which freaked me out. Today I am very bloated, they say I need to walk a lot today. Overall I am okay just some soreness in my belly but nothing major. The weird part of this al is that as I sit here (I'm in the hospital soon) I keep thinking....did I really just do this!!

    TOMORROW!

My surgery is scheduled for 9:10 tomorrow and I am so excited. Such a crazy thing to feel so excited about, but it has been a long year journey toward approval and I feel really blessed to have this option toward good health. Thank you to my Lap-Band people for making this long road more bearable =)

    Anyone with this issue???

I'm so sorry to hear about your second surgery, but just out of curiosity, why do you feel your lap band led to your gallbladder failing and not just coincidence?

    The band

Keep up with the vitamins ( I was told to take two childrens chewables a day) and keep some protin powder around to add to things. If you look and feel great that is what matters! I hope I don't feel hungry with my band!!

    Surgery Scheduled for March

Hey guys! My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning at 9:10!! I am so freakin' excited such a weird feeling! My pre-op went really well, in fact I never cheated and I am amazed by that. I think pickles are okay, I was allowed to have vegetables prepared without fat, just no potatoes, peas or corn. By the end of these two weeks, I am not starving at all and am not craving fatty foods and carbs so hopefully my addiction get's kicked and I survive Bandster Hell in a few weeks LOL. Good luck everyone!

I hope this was a joke....my contractions nearly killed me! LOL. Also I have had two c-sections and I have heard that this is nothing in comparison, I hope that's right. Even so CONGRATS!! YOU ARE BANDED!!

    Can't change my pic!

When I joined this site almost a year ago I was very introspective and now I FINALLY have my banding date of 3/4 and I want to change my profile pic to something that shows my more fun side and I have not been able to do that on this site...so frustrating!
  14. Here is what I was told to do: max 1000 cals, less than 60 carbs, at least 60 protien. MyFitnessPal is telling me the same hing but this is not a typical diet, it's like a cleanse if you will for surgery. Keep that in mind and good luck
  15. My diet consists of only two shakes a day plus one "grocery meal" that can be protien and veggies, but no fats or carbs. I have been eating salads with tuna, veggie burgers, eggs and peppers, etc. without any added carbs or fats. Oh! And Greek Yogurt where have you been all my life?? Great with some ranch packet sprinkled in to dip raw vegetables. If you were told by your provider that 1000 cals is your limit then I say you can add a small HEALTHY protien to your day. It will help you stay full. GOOD LUCK =)

    Surgery Scheduled for March

My surgeon is Dr. Van Vallina at Central DuPage Hospital/ Cadence Health. We really ought to start a group amongst ourselves that meets at a Starbucks once a month!!

Yep! That did the trick! Thanks!

    Lab rat?

I think this is what tthe officionatos refer to as "Bandster Hell"...you've done all the work and got the band....and now you have to wait to heal before you get a fill and feel nothing. Hang in there, I've been on this website almost a year and most will tell you this will pass! Good luck =)

    Can't change my pic!

Oh no....I know that....it like freezes when I do that. I also tried to do it under my edit profile page. Maybe it's my computer setting?? Hmmm....weird.
  20. I admit, I'm a spoiled and sometimes naive big-City girl....but since it sounds like you are out-of-pocket anyways, isn't there a Hospital near you that has a Bariatric center that can help you? I hope you find the help you need before you find yourself with worsening conditions! Good luck!!

    Just banded 2/12/13

I think cream soups are a step BETWEEN clear liquids and purees like applesauce, which then leads to mushies (like mashed potato?) I am going to be banded on 3/4 and I'm sure I will have lots of questions too. I can call my nutritionist or e-mail her at any time, thank goodness. Good luck!
  22. I feel your pain, I have a bridal shower in a banquet hall a week after my surgery! I am going to call ahead to see if soup is on the menu and if not ask for hot water and do one of my chicken soup pakcets. As far as your breakfast goes, I agree you can make a shake ahead of time and even put it in a travel mug and pull the whole "tummy just not right". Also, my nutritionist told me that while I"m on mushies I can have anything I can mash with my fork, so maybe some of the fruit will be extra ripe like a banana? Good luck =)

    Surgery Scheduled for March

Yep! March 4 for me too =) Day 4 of my pre-op diet and I'm getting by...easier than I thought actually...plus I lost my first 5 lbs!!

    Surgery Scheduled for March

Hey everyone! Last week I ate a TON of food, had all my favorites one last time, which I reminded my self I can probalby have most of it again, just a modified version and not the same amount. Today is Day 2 of my pre-op...luckily I only do two shakes and get to eat one "grocery meal low carb/no fat" so yesterday I had salad with tuna and today I had a veggie burger (no bun) for my real food. I wouldn't say it's been easy...my body is not used to so little food (800-1000 cals a da) but it's been doable and that's all I expect for now. One day at a time. Good luck everyone!

    so lost

Hang in there! I know it may seem like 54 lbs is not alot for having been banded almost three years...but look at it this way...I would KILL to loose 54 lbs and be able to keep it off for three whole years (I will be banded on 3/4) and maybe looking at some before photos of yourself will remind you how far you have come and motivate you to keep going? Just think, if you hadn't been banded, where would you be today? I bet not 54 lbs lighter if not having gained some more weight from where you started. I know many of people on this website use the myfitnesspal app. Hope that helps!
