    I just wanna potty!!!

I am 10 days out and was fine about a day after...The key is LOTS of water. My diet has been 2-3 protien shakes a day with a lot of cal free beverages in between and I can tell right away if I haven't been drinking my water. Otherwise I agree with the rest that a week seems way too long and I would call just to check. Good luck!!

    PB2

Yes, I just recently bought a jar of each, PB2 and the chocolate PB2. Two tablespoons is only 45 cals but to be honest, one does the trick just fine. I have added the regular to both chocolate and vanilla shakes, and the chocolate to vanilla shakes and both are delish. It also makes is a tad thicker wich I enjoy as well. Expensive but worth it if you are getting tired of your shake flavors as I was. Variety has kept me going!!

  5. I still have 9 more days of liquid, but I would like to start shopping the end of next week for my puree'd diet. I do have some "puree'd Soup ice cubes" in the fridge that I made already but I thought I would ask you guys what you thought was a go-to item. I am planning on steaming and puree-ing most things myself, like eggplant, tofu, yogurt blends, etc......but.....am I crazy to want to pick up some baby food meats like turkey and beef to add into my blends? I don't think I can puree those on my own. How about canned tuna or chicken in the Magic Bullet?? Any advice is welcome =) (Of course I will ask my nutritionist the same questions on the 15th and do what she says but I'm still curious what worked for YOU) THANKS!
  6. So last night was the first time my husband and I did it since I was banded last Monday 3/4. I was feeling great, and lost my first 20 lbs so it was a go, and I did not get any time restrictions from my surgeon so we went for it. The whole time I was thinking about my port and if the stiches were healed and if it was going to come "undone" whatever the heck that means. Long story short everything worked out fine in the end and I'm thinking I'm just fine but it still made me LOL after it was over. The life of a NEW BANDSTER. Anyone have a similar experience?

    Surgery Scheduled for March

I can't believe that I had surgery a whole week ago today!! Feeling fantastic...20 lbs. down since my pre-op started Feb 18th. All the gas and discomfort is gone, just some tenderness at my incisions but really, really can't complain. I am so ready for real food though....or even the baby food!! Until then I'm gonna keep "shakin'" one more week. Keep up the good work everyone!!

    Protein Shake Recommendations?

I bought the "New Direction" line from my bariatric center for both my pre-op diet as well as my post-op diet and they taste fantastic...I was interested to find they also have shakes that you can heat up and are soup flavors like cream of chicken and broccoli cheddar!

Over 3 Months & No Fill

    That's my plan too =)

    Feeling your port

Mine is pretty deep in there, I feel tenderness but not much else. I am excited for when I really can feel it because that will mean the layers of FAT are dissapearing...LOL!

One more hoop to jum through

Good luck! My pre-op wasn't as horrible as I thought it would be. I'm not saying it was whoo-hoo great, but it was doable, and the shakes I bought from the hospital kept me full and I stayed away from hard situations. If only we had a crystal ball we would know how this decision would pan out in ten years, but the way I look at it, the risk was still far worth the potential reward =) Welcome!

    Bandster hell?

Just out of curiosity so we know what to look for...how exactly did you come to find out your tubing was kinked? I haven't heard of that yet on this site? Good luck with everything, sorry you had to have a second surgery already =(
  15. I'm on day 4 and it is getting better and better. I still have a lot "moving" around and being on a strictly liquid diet it's no wonder things are coming out more liquidish too. (made up that word). I on the other hand have been burping "etc." very regularly, not sure if that's funny or gross, but my digestive track sure seems to be working properly. I'm sure you will get more insight at your appoinement. Good luck!!

    Faces Don't Lie....

Both pics are beautiful in different ways, none look "disfigured." We go through things in life, ups and down, and so do our bodies. Look at the before pic and instead of tearing up think about how far you have come =) Congrats, you got this!

    Surgery Scheduled for March

Not bad. I did something smart and had my mother-in-law come stay for the week so she has been on kid duty. Next week I am still home from school but the kids are gone from 9-3:30. They still don't get that they can't bump into my belly or hug me too tightly, but we are working at it. I have to say, I still have some body gas still but really I am feeling pretty decent. Hope you guys are too!!

gram crackers soaked in soy milk

I think it sounds good. You can sprinkle some cinnamon or sugar too. It sounds like this is a snack and not a meal so I'm sure it's fine!

    No Pre-Diet Required

I was nervous about my pre-op but really it put me in the right mind frame for after the surgery. You should still follow your surgeon's advice, but maybe you should make some changes on your own before the big day so going into surgery you feel your best. Good luck =)
  22. Just as you loose weight a little faster the heavier you are, I assume it's easier to gain the smaller you are, just by Murphy's law. Sounds like you know what needs to happen since you admit to not following the rules, you can get back on track, stay positive, and turn it back around =)

    Surgery Scheduled for March

I also stayed over one night and it's a good thing, my kids would have been all over me and it's nice to have nurses at your beck and call. I was so nauseous the first day also I wouldn't have done well at home. Day 2 was a bit easier and day 3 has been okay. I still have a lot of pressure in my abdomen, but things are starting to "move" so I think in another day or two I will feel better. Also, I started feeling really light after the pre-op since I lost 15 pounds (not really thin, but you know that feeling) and now because of the gas in my body I feel like I'm 9 months pregant LOL. Stay positive everyone!!
  24. I know you are frustrated....we all have been there...but HANG IN THERE....this too shall pass and will be well worth it. I found that by the second week, all of my cravings for sugar/carbs really had vanished, I didn't think that was really possible. Also, I found that a lot of my hunger was from only relying on the liquid diet and not sipping on sugar free liquids all day in between. Get your Water in and I bet you feel better. I bought a case of zero calorie Vitamin water and took one eveywhere to sip on all day long. Lastly, and I'm sorry for this too, but you will not be on REAL food for a long time after surgery. I have another two weeks of liquids and then three weeks of mushies The more into the routine you are now, the better =) Good luck, and keep venting, that's what we are here for!
