    Had my consult

The 40% typical success rate is because many patients start to relax on the rules and start to become "sugar drinkers" eating ice cream and milkshakes for meals because they go down easily and they don't cause restriction effects. You have a low BMI in my opinion for this procedure (minimum is around 40 to qualify, 35 with co-morbidities). Statistically, maybe it doesn't seem to be your best option, but only you can make that decision. Good luck =)

    10th Fill

0.3cc is 1/3 of a milliliter. If you have had 10 fills what is your total amount if you don't mind me asking, and what size is your band. I have 2.5 in a 10cc band and I think I'm finally entering my green zone. Good luck =)

To fill or not to fill....

Before I see my surgeon I sit down with the Nut first and discuss my diet and we go from there. i am also "ahead of schedule" with my loss but I have been busting my butt to lose hungry or not. Tomorrow I"m going in and hope this third one (will have 3cc in a 10cc) will be the one to do it for me! Don't worry about others, just focus on how YOU feel =)

    Falling off the wagon

It's not easy, but it's doable. I have lost a lot of weight but mostly because I am dieting and counting every calorie and jogging and not so much because of the band. In fact, I knew I could lose without the band but I also knew from experience that I needed it to help me maintain which is when it will really kick in for me I believe. Good luck and stay positive, you got this!
  8. I love hearing that you only have PB'd twice Missy. I have not yet and have been banded for six months and sometimes I wonder, is everything really working in there? But I am losing and following the rules so I'm guessing that helps. You have done phenom!!

    3rd fill

Good luck and keep us posted. I have my third fill tomorrow and I also hope this one does the trick. I have been loosing because I have been dieting really hard not so much because of the restriction.

    I'm going there...

So...am I the only one that feels like no one has pubic hair anymore and if you do you are totally out-of-style or a hairy monster?? I was thinking of celebrating one of my weight loss milestones with a brazilian wax but I'm kinda embarassed because I have a belly flap/extra skin over my c-setion scar from losing weight. Has anyone here that is still kinda chubby gotten waxed and how was it??

What is a typical day diet?

I'm assuming you want us to answer the topic question. I'm also assuming wherever you got your band, also provided nutritional counselling. Either way my day looks like this. Breakfast: Two scrambled eggs, Diet Snapple (30 minutes later) Lunch: Turkey sandwich on a fold-it flatbread. sugar free Jello or pudding. Diet Snapple (30 minutes later) Snack: Mini Baby Bell Light cheese. coffee with sugar free creamer and splenda. Dunkin Donuts iced coffee with skim and splenda. Dinner: 3-5 oz chicken, Beef, Hot Dog, Tilapia, etc. with a tomato or lettuce salad as a side dish. Also....I track EVERYTHING on myfitnesspal.com Good luck!!

what to expect for your first fill?

My first fill went pretty easy. I got numbed up, then they just insert the needle and put the fill in. You don't feel a thing internally. After I was asked to sip from a cup of water which went down no prob. My Bariatric Center has me on liquids the rest of the day, mushie the next day, then back on the regular diet. Good luck!!

    It's the little things

Thank you so much for sharing. I remember all my "firsts" after being banded and how scary it was, but once you rock it like you did it makes this journey seem much more doable. Congrats =)

    NSV???

NSV "Non-Scale Victory"s are super important on this journey. When we become so scale focused it's very hard to not get frustrated by the numbers, so we can think about other things, some of mine have been zipping up tall boots, using a normal bath towel, and starting to jog without dying. Good luck =)

    Feeling like a carnivore.....

I know you said you are counting calories, but do you notice that you are eating heavy on carbs? I have found truth in that my low carb days really show on the scale. Also sodium is a huge culprit of bloating. Good luck!

    need suggestions

The smell of chicken broth makes me want to vomit, just saying. I bought french onion, tortialla, tomato, etc and did what the others said, I drained them....BUT KEEP THE SOLID PEICES! Put them in the magic bullet or blender of your choice and freeze them for you mushie stage!!

    name your lapband?

Mine is Lola. She is a mysterious sexy siren, who calls the shots, who is in control, and who is deep inside me. My alter-ego!!
  21. ChicagoRose

    diarrhea...

It's normal. When only liquids are going in, only liquids come out LOL. Don't worry it will pass, and then when you are on real foods and so much protien you are going to pray for an easy BM!

    OBGYN appointment

I had mine in August....I shared my surgery with my doctor and she was very gentle pressing on my abdomen, and very supportive in general!
  23. This is too funny....I don't notice any sounds, but I do notice my port when I'm on my back with my legs scrunched up...haha..

    I am bad

    A. You are not "bad". B. You are human, that's why you did that. C. Remember how you feel and think about that next time you are tempted to make a bad choice. If we were perfect we would not all need weight loss surgery!! It exists because there is a whole sub-category of people who can't control what and how much they eat. I am also a volume eater and that's why I chose the band and it has been a wonderful thing so far for 6 months. Dont' give up, Learn and move on. And try really hard for the next few days until your surgery....your surgery will be easier on you and the surgeon if you have followed the pre-op diet!! Good luck!!

    New band; diet concerns

When I was on mushies I allowed myself to eat crackers here and there. Like 1 cheez-it at a time and I mashed them to dust before I swallowed. It's okay we all make mistakes (or we wouldn't be here) and if the toast went down okay, make note and move on, but follow your doctor's recommendations!! That is the only way you will be able to have a long and happy banded life!
