When I think about My "story"
I think of my whole life, I was taught to finish my plate and I always had seconds.
I used to take my grandfather's freshly bought whole apple pies and run off with them when I was 8. I haven't been under 200 lb's since I was 10.
I loved food, It used to comfort me. But After you eat it.....you feel like you have no control....
and GET MORE... It's a vicious cycle. I'm sure everyone here can relate.
I've always been Fat but it never got in my way of enjoying life, but the past 2 years, I felt like 87 not 27 and that's when I really started breaking down.
I lost my Confidence, Joy and Happiness.
I have always been the girl that was too Happy!
I found out about the Sleeve from a Friend of mine, she had her sleeve done in Dec 2010. She has lost 160 pounds to date! For a whole year, I was telling myself that I can lose the weight on my own. I don't need help! I was in denial.
I wasn't able to weigh on any of the scales at home and even at the gym the scale went to 350...... I got upset and started to withdraw from life and everyone. In December 2011, I broke the silence... I told my family that I wanted to have Surgery. Vertical Sleeve!!! I thought about it for over a year and I decided I was ready to start my journey.
.
I went through 6 months of classes and learned to cut out all sugar, sodas.
I lost 35 lb's while in those classes. On my 2 week Pre-op Diet, I lost 13.5 lb's.The day of my Surgery, on June 25th 2012, I weighed 344.
After Surgery, it has been a learning curve. I had to use the water bottle cap as a cup for the first 3 days otherwise I choked. It's about the little things and taking your time.
When you first have it done, I remember just wanting to wake up at goal. It has been a Great journey and I know I will be successful.
I got my confidence back! I feel more alive everyday! I cannot wait to update this and show you ..... Believe in yourself and your Sleeve, You will accomplish your goals.
Don't Give up on yourself, Take control of your life and enjoy it. We only get one chance.
