I originally had the band placed 8/2012. It worked well for 5 years. I lost weight and was close to reaching goal. I began throwing up and waking up in the middle of the night choking on stomach acid. I aspirated acid in my lungs. My stomach had turned inside out over the top of my band. I had surgery in January 2018 for removal. My surgeon would not do the revision to VSG at the same time. Fast forward a year later, I gained back the majority of my weight and began the process for VSG approval. I had surgery 3/25/19! I wish I would have went with the sleeve 7 years ago!
