Not enough information before sleeved
Debi Morris posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi! My name is Debi and I was sleeved May of 2012. I have only lost 40 lbs and after researching what I can do I have come to the realization everyone had months of classes except me. I'm starting to think it was because I paid cash, therefore, they wanted me in quickly. I went to one class the day I visited the doctor and the next day had surgery. After talking to several people I found they were required to attend several nutritional classes. When I realized what happened I contacted the doctor's office, Dr. James Atkinson & Dr. Soong, and was told I would have to pay an additional $75. I was too mad at this point to go and probably bit my own nose off to spite myself, so now I'm looking for help from all my fellow sleevers. Hoping to hear from someone. My sincere thanks- 9 replies

She's Baaaaaack (From Surgery--Lol)!
Debi Morris replied to CJ_Redux's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
OMG, I laughed, was horrified and validated all at once. Have you ever thought of being a writer? I too was sick for 3 days following my surgery and was sure I had stretched my stomach back out, which my surgeon assures me I didn't. That was a nightmare. I do however, find consultation knowing someone else did also. Thanks for a great story and congratulation to you for being on your way to a new journey. -

Debi Morris replied to Blugirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
OMG Kelly, I was sleeved May 15th, only lost 15 pounds, no pre-op diet and have not lost a pound in the last 2 weeks. It seems like what I eat, the pounds should be melting off. I just don't get it. -

May 15th and only 15 lbs. I'm the failure! -
Okay May sleeves, it is now 7 weeks and I'm still only 15 pounds. I eat maybe 800 - 1,000 calories a day. Have to start my day with a protein shake or don't feel right. Fiber One cereal seems to be my savior right now when nothing else wants to go down. As I mentioned before I'm on meds for bad back, Fibrommagylia and nerve damage from accident. Also have severe sleep apnea and am 56. I am totally PISSED I have not lost for 2 weeks. I just don't understand. How are all you doing?
-
I weigh once a week. I think I'd make myself crazy weighing once a day. Lol.

Please keep us posted Ashlee so we can follow your progress. Happy thoughts to you!

Water Hurts Going Down, Any Advise?
Debi Morris replied to LovingmeForever's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
The feeling you are experiencing is normal for everyone with the exception of the length of time it takes to go away. I was sleeved 6 weeks ago and just recently have been able to tolerate water. I've found that to be normal throughout the treads on this site. I also want to clarify the straw dilemma. The reason they don't want you to use one is due to the air in can create in your stomach. I have always used straws before sleeved and if I use one now, sometimes it's tolerable, others, not so good. Seems to depend on the day. Make sure you look through all the threads on here and I'm confidant you'll find great suggestions for all you encounter. Good luck with your journey. -
I am so disheartened with my surgery. Was sleeved exactly 6 weeks ago. I had lost 15 pounds at week 5. Was informed by my doctor that 3 pounds a week was great. Well today, 6 weeks, I've gained 1 pound. I already feel like I'm slowly losing this weight but to gain? Does anyone have any feedback? Please?

Thank you all for your positive feedback and suggestions. It just seems as little as I've been eating it should be falling off! Thank you my slow looser friends.
