I had my surgery done this summer in Vancouver with SWLC. Overall, it has been a good experience so far. I would recommend them to anyone. I looked in to Slimband as well, but found that SWLC has a better after care record which is key. Best wishes on your journey...

I love Quinoa. It is a good source of protein and fibre. Also it is gluten free.

Hi Vahonie - I was banded on Wednesday too so I can relate. I find that the gas x really helps and so does a heating pad. In fact, I think the heating pad is more effective. Walking helps too. Hope you feel better today.

catincanada - How disappointing and frustrating. I cant imagine going through all the preop just to be cancelled last minute. It might be worthwhile contacting the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons. They are there to help British Columbians with questions and concerns about doctors and their practices. Hopefully you will be able to find an alternative that works for you. I am in BC as well and will be having my surgery next week with Surgical Weight Loss Center in Vancouver. My experience with them has been good so far. They might be worth checking out. Hope things work out for you in the end.

Hi Everyone, I figured since I have officially started my two-week pre-op diet I should stop lurking and start posting! I will be having my lapband surgery through the Surgical Weight Loss Center at their Vancouver Clinic on July 18th.
