    Anyone Getting Banded In July?

Hi Cute45, I am on my day 4 out of 14 drinking shakes. So far I am doing great. Maybe a bit of headache but I think it is because I am only taking about 800 calories per day. Trying to keep my energy on. Drinking lots of water.

    Considering Lb

Hello, my name is Libra and I have been reading your forums for the past 4 months but it is the first time I have posted. I am considering the Lap Band procedure as a way to loose weigh. I am 37, 185 pounds (84 kilos) 5'1'' (156 cm) with a BMI of 36 which makes me medically obese. I am not diabetic but I have high hereditary cholesterol issues. Also a vigorous exercise routine in not an options due to lower back and joint issues. That leaves light walking and swimming as my main form of exercise. I have consulted with my family doctor about getting my cholesterol down and loosing weight and also about the possibility of the Lap Band procedure. My family doctor first recommended a modified diet but indicated she will support the idea of a Lap Band depending on the result of the modified diet. I have also consulted directly with several doctors who specialize in the Lap Band procedure who have told me the the procedure could help me to lose weight. I would be interested to hear from anybody out there an opinion as to whether or not my personal situation would benefit from the lap band procedure based on the personal information I have provided. It is an expensive procedure and I would like to know from people who have been exposed to the procedure whether it is the right thing to do for me at this time. Or am I rushing into something before I have tried other weigh reduction methods? I have tried dieting, exercise, weigh watchers, etc. Any recommendations? I really appreciate your input. Thank you Libra Quote MultiQuote Edit
