  1. I have premera bcbs as well and got approved. Took six months and dont worry the doctors will find some comorbidity to get it past the insurance. With me it was really slight sleep apnea and slightly increased blood pressure. I started at 436. I'm now 376 after only one week post op. I was at 388 on the day of my surgery. It is worth the fight with the insurance
  2. I'm right there with you. So over Protein shakes and broth. Hang in there. I have had some sugar free pudding to break it up without problems. You could probably also try some low fat cream of mushroom or chicken. Those went down without any problems. Could only eat about a third of a can before I felt ready to burst. Call your doctor and see if there's anything else you might try. Good luck

    Any June Sleevers?

    Sent it to ya robin33
  6. Thanks everyone. I will stick to the liquids. I'm a chef and sitting around all week is killing me. I've cleaned my house like 3 times this week, at least the exercise is good. I guess I just want to cook something ????. Definitely not worth a trip back to the hospital Really glad I found this forum, you guys are all great

    Sleeved Today

Congrats gene. Hope your recovery is a quick one. Love to see another man on here. Seems like we are outnumbered, not that that's a bad thing

    For The Slow Losers

I think this statement really sums it up. We all have to be happy where we are at the moment. We all made decisions to get healthier not watch the scale go down. Remember that it is just a tool. How you feel and look should be so much more important
  9. Everyone is doing great. Mine was on the 6th and I'm down 16 lbs already I am so ready to be able to chew something. I tried yesterday and it didnt go well

    First Postop Check Up

Incredible! Justification for hard work is something we should all get to brag about
  11. You can also use any bottled flavorings or extracts. I googled extracts and found a great company that has just about any flavor you could think of. The root beer extract in a vanilla shake tastes just like a root beer float
  12. I too told anyone who showed any interest. It is amazing the support you can get from co workers and such. Even had a friend from a different department at work call and check on me postop. Couple of people think I took the easy route but they don't understand the procedures and what's involved anyway. Nothing easy about any of this as you guys all know

  14. My surgeon didn't give me any guidelines either. He just told me the more weight i lost the easier the surgery/recovery would be I lost 48 lbs in the six months before surgery. I started at 436 as of today 4 days post op I'm 382
  15. +1 on the smells. I had surgery same day as you and food odors have been really strong since then. Wife brought home el pollo loco for her and the kids and I had to leave the room Water tastes funny to me right now too. Just been drinking Protein shakes and sobe life water instead

Good News, Bad News Sortof Week

I went through the same process. Even had to have an angiogram because the stress test wasn't conclusive. It seems like it will never end but it does I had my surgery on June 6 and already have dropped 6 lbs. It is worth the wait!

Where Did You Get Your Ramekins?

What's the thought process of ramekins? I am new on the forum and also a chef. Are you just wanting smaller containers. They sell small ASIC throwaways at the grocery store here in Vegas
  18. I felt much the same way leading up to my procedure. I believe it is natural. I'm a total control freak too which didn't help at all. Now that it is done, 4 days post op today, I feel silly for feeling that way Our surgeons and anesthesiologist know what they are doing and we have to trust them. They do have your best interest at heart Hang In there
