Those of you who have had ypur surgery done by Dr. David Kim in Dallas...I have a question for yall. I am a bit confused as to when I can start the phase 3-puréed Protein diet. I have completed the phase one-Clear liquids (one week) and I am on my phase 2-full liquids. I was under the impression that this phase only lasts 2 weeks (the book he gave us is very confusing). I started it on June 25th and thoughttttt I was going to end it on Monday the 9th. But I just spoke with the nurse and she said it should be 3 weeks. Can anyone tell me what they are doing or did? I may just have to call back up there. They prolly think I am the crazy lady that doesn't get it ( I will just blame it on the lack of food...haha). Thankssss!

I receieved a blood clot in my arm because of the IV during the surgery. 4 months later I am still dealing with it. I currently on 15mg of warfarin. I am young and healthy and not prone to blood clots. It can happen to anyone. Good luck. I hope you don't get a blood clot and that everything works out for you.

I am 7 weeks out today and was wondering how many calories and exercise everyone is getting in at this point. Personally I shoot for 600-700 cals and am jogging&walking about 4 times a week (1.5 miles). I do not know if this is normal or not. I just want everyone to post what they are doing also, I would love if everyone left their myfitnesspal info so we can be friends!

I thought his support group was to***ht at 6:30 at the Colleyville Center but noone was there when I showed up. Does anyone know when it is for this month? The flyer that I have says August 1st @ 6:30pm. Weirdddd. Maybe I had an outdated flyer?

Egg salad. One hard boiled egg, mustard, and 1 tablespoon of fat free mayo (add onion if you want) and blend! I added salt and pepper for taste! Fat free refried Beans. 1/2 cup of ff refried beans blended with chopped onion. Put some fat free shredded cheese on top and microwave. Totally delicious! Good luck!

Yep...so good! Add some chopped onion to it and then microwave some shredded cheese on top! Loved that on my blended phase!

I only had to have the lovenox injections because I ended up with a blood clot from the IV site when I had my surgery. They gave me cumaden as well for it ( and am still taking it over a month later )Not sure why you are being given those...hope everything is okay! Keep us updated!

I had surgery June 18th and have lost about 38lbs. I had really bad allergies before surgery. I was ALWAYSSSS sneezing ( like around 20 times a day ). Since surgery I have not had any allergies! I rarely sneeze anymore! Anyone else had this happen or know what might be the cause? I am thinking that I may be allergic to maybe wheat or something? I use to eat a lot of wheat bread, crackers, carbsssss, and you name it. Help!

I went to the pool and just relaxed with some friends and didn't do much swimming just hung out on a noodle. I decided that I would try to swim to the deep end. Bad idea. My stomach muscles were still very very sore that I immediately felt moderate/uncomfortable pain. Be careful and enjoy the cool water in this Texas Heat!

I could submerge my incisions in water after 2 weeks. ( pool/bath)

I just googled The Heart Attack Grill and I am completely appalled. I am so sorry that you were put into that situation. That makes me sick! You WILL find better people to be around...it just takes a little time and effort! Good luck!

I have those and I really like them!I am 6 weeks out of surgery today. I ALWAYS take little bitty bites eating it. I seriously take about 10-15 bites and chew until it kind of disolves. My doctors office said that she has seen some of those kinda of things get stuck in the stomach. She advised for me not to start taking them until I was 4weeks out. I do not take them everyday just occasionally when I think about it or want to.

I am 6 weeks tomorrow and have lost roughly 33 lbs. I lost about 12 of that on my pre-op diet. I don't known if that is normal or not...

I'm probably going to be slaughtered on here for saying this but I have had a pickle. (I am on my blended food phase fixing to start my soft food phase tomorrow-surgery june 18th). I bought baby dill pickles. I chopped off both ends of it and threw those away. I took tiny tiny bites and chewed chewed and chewed some more. I handled it good and it took me a long time to wat it ( just because I was scared ) I put them in my tuna fish salad as well. Good luck to you!

You can do 1/2 cup of fat free refried beans and chopped onion blended and then put a little shredded cheese on top of it and microwave it. Delicious!

During my liquid phase I had a dream about having a handful of pretzels. I think it is normal to dream about food because we have issues with it. Since the surgery I haven't had any food dreams. I was sleeved June 18th. Good luck to you!

I love the blenderized tuna fish salad as well as the blenderized egg salad! So yummy! You can blend a half cup of nonfat refriend beans with a bit of chopped onion and then microwave a lil reduced-fat shredded cheese on top it...sooo good and it has a lot of protein! Good luck!

I was walking around my neighborhood getting some exercise today around 11:30am. I like to think that I am alert when it comes to making sure I am safe and not going to get run over walking. I don't listen to music extremely loud or anything and try to be aware of my surroundings. But something crazy happened today! I had been walking for 10min and was needing to cross a street to get to the other side. This truck pulls up next to me while I am at the stop sign. I look over to make sure he isn't going to go first and then I look both ways to cross the street. I jog across the street and the truck pulls up to me on the side of the road and stops to ask me a question. I take my ear buds out and he asks where "hard top road is". I said I had no idea and then he proceeded to ask again...this time nodding towards his lap. THE MAN HAD NO PANTS ON AND WAS BEING A PERVERT TO ME! He exposed his complete self to me on purpose. I freaked out and yelled OMG and starting to try and get away from him. I proceeded to call 911 and gave the police a report. He ended up watching me for a little bit and then drove off before all the cop cars showed up. Ladies please be careful when exercising. I live in a good neighborhood and never thought this would have happened to me. When exercising you should always have your phone on you of you are by yourself. He was a normal looking guy who was younger around my age (23). He wasn't anyone that looked like a creeper or a weirdo. He wasn't playing a joke...it was so serious. I was so freaked out that I couldnt really give much detail other than what he was driving and the color of the vehicle. I will next time snap a quick picture of the vehicle or try and memorize the license plate. They tried to find him by my description...just hope they did! I didnt realize that the question was meant to be perverted until afterwards so noone ever try to answer it! Lol

Yea the nurses kept brushing me off when I told them they need to move the IV. My hand doubled in size where I couldn't bend my fingers. They finally moved it when I showed them that the hospital bracelets were majorly indenting into my skin. I think it is just a block or so away from his office. I have the paper somewhere...I will look for it. Message me your cell number and I'll text ya the info when I can!

It was totally unexpected! The blood clot came from an IV site in my hand. We should totally get together...and go grab a water or something...haha. I live in Hurst. I am 23 as well so we can totally relate! I was thinking about going to the group support meeting. I think it's on the 11th of this month. Are you going?
