During my 1st pre-op visit I was asked to consume 100 oz of water daily. I am very challenged to complete this large volume. Has anyone else been asked to have a similar consumption?

Thank for your input....I do try hard to get it in but it is very challenging. Someone told me it is flushing my fat? It that even possible?

New To This Whole Thing
Starting Over! replied to luckypenny's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
The surgery for me was a breeze. Pain when I woke up the quickly controlled that and I walked as soon as I got back to my room and did not stop walking through out the day and night. I had no real gas discomfort and I followed all pre- op instructions without cheating or giving in. I am so glad I did this and you will be too. Set a plan create a food journal and follow surgeons instructions you will do great. A positive attitude is always helpful. Try not to be nervous you will be in good hands if you have selected a good surgeon Best of luck and let me know if I can assist. Welcome! -
This is interesting to me....I was told to consume 100 oz of Water a day and I too am very challenged I can reach 60 to 70 oz but getting to 100 is challenging during my work week. I am not at a desk much often on the run and it is challenging to get fluids in consistently. Good luck to you in your journey! Yes you can and I will as well master this somehow!

Which Band Do You Perfer? Lap Band Or Realize Band
Starting Over! replied to berniev7108's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I researched both and found the Lap Band brand to be my best choice. It has been in production longer and had less complications. My suggestion is to read up on both then make your determination and talk to your surgeon they may have a preference or suggestion as well. Good luck in your journey! -
My favorite lunch; I mix tuna and olive oil mayo along with sweet potato crackers of which I dip into the tuna and a cottage cheese chaser in single serve container. I pack them with 2 freezer packs and 2 waters one frozen. Filling and high in Protein with a total caloric intake of 380 and 34 grams of protein. (sweet potato crackers I bought however I may try to make them found a recipe on line.) Good luck on your journey!

For me I have decided this is my last chance to be successful. Pre surgery I was frozen with the fear of failure. I then became determined to make this successful. I have changed one thing at a time and now 11 days post op I am down 2 dress sizes from the beginning of my journey 6 months ago and very happy to Celebrate my success! I have gone on the Dr.Oz web site for some great recipes. I try really hard to only take in healthy foods and limit my carbs with almost no sugar.(sugar is the devil) I was told to have 80-100grams of Protein and 100 oz. Of Water daily, I am making every effort to do that. My day starts with a shake and I eat healthy portions for lunch and dinner. I am new to this and working hard to stay on track. If I can assist....please contact me...you too can do this! -

Successful Banders...will You Share Your Diet Keys To Success?
Starting Over! posted a blog entry in Starting Over!'s Blog
I am traveling through this lab band discovery and am almost one week post op. And very happy with my decision and current choices. I would love to hear your tips and diet suggestions. What do you eat in a day and in what quantity? For me personally my NUT was a half hour phone call i had to pay for separately and meetings apparently no one shows up for and do not fit my work schedule. I know i need support and direction. I have learned much of my information from reading and participation in daily talks on this site! (thank you all for sharing) Any and all tips are welcome! -

Is There Anyone Available To Share Pre Surgery Weight Loss Tips?
Starting Over! commented on DONYEIL's blog entry in DONY5STARS' Blog
I began making small changes at first. I stopped late night snacking and I began to exercise. I made sure I was eating nuts protein vegetables and made one meal a protein shake. Do follow all instructions from your Dr. Prior to surgery. It is for a short period of time change your habits read instead of watching TV lift weights when you get bored instead of going for food. You can do it! -
