This is why I choose not to share my story with my coworkers and acquaintances I have had people giving me advise to lose weight for years and I feel I am an olympic gold metal dieter and as we all know diets don't work. Life style changes do and this band has allowed me a tool to change my life (with a lot of my work as well) This is my story and no one else but my family was with me jumping through all the hoops so I want this to all be for and about me my health and my family! Do not allow others to discourage you...yes, you can do this! We all can do this!

Surgery Date Oct 11,2012- Scard And Nervous
Starting Over! replied to kband72's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too was scared and excited and just about every emotion possible! Prior to surgery I made up my mind to relax and just go with it and really did not think about the procedure. I became involved in a great book and my surgery went without a hitch, no complications, almost no gas with no gas pain to speak of. Please don't focus on the negative and remain positive, you will be great! You did not start this process without thought....you had already made up your mind you needed help! You will be in good hands if you reachered your surgeon being in the industry I am sure you may have! -

The Guess-Work On Gas!?!?!
Starting Over! replied to LadyLeigh2012's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I shared that concern with my surgeon, for me very little pain after the first day it was gone! And yes....WALK! Good luck! -
I have had my second fill and am not in the green zone with 3cc fill appear to be stuck at this weight for 3 weeks now. I am trying not to get discouraged, continue to walk thinking about getting a personal trainer just to make the scale move. I had a large celebration this week with my only cheat being a 2oz sample of wine. First and only alcohol since going under the knife. No sweets at all and making healthy choices. Time to get back to my journal I guess to really see what's happening with my intake calorie wise. I have to remain focused, I can feel a difference in my clothes as I have shed an entire wardrobe! Another non scale victory under 100 to lose! I can do this....! Yes..I can!

Hello There!

Best of luck with the pending storm and your sober life! Congratulations and continued success to you. I have discovered nothing worth while comes easy... New Orleans was a place I called home many years ago, I am sure I would not recognize the east where we lived, heard it was under water now. Be patient and good things will happen! Thoughts for safe delivery through the storm! -
I guess I really am afraid of failing at yet another weight loss attempt which is why I have not shared my story. If I keep my little secret until I know for sure I can be successful it gives me the power and confidence to continue working hard. At some point I will want to share but for now this works for me. I have lived in judgement from others for so long in my life and my career, I don't feel many deserve to know. I have been successful so far....this works! I hope? I know others have failed... I have to succeed for my health. Please don't judge anyone on their choice...if you are here on this site we have been judged enough!

Insurance will not take weight watchers notes or payment receipts? It seems like if you have the documentation you should be able to challenge the insurance decision. Best of luck to you...keep looking to find a way if this is your decision! Don't give up!

Your choice to share or not to share it is your story to tell or not tell! Continued success in your journey....yes you can!

Are you being asked to perform the 6 month weight loss program? If so, call or go on line to your insurance company and obtain their preference for this process. Know all the details then tackle them one at a time. My surgery center assisted with the 6 month weigh in's, suggesting a NUT ...make the psychological evaluation quick those can take some time. Good luck and don't give up!

Lapband Changing My Life
Starting Over! replied to darbydoo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The only real assistance I needed after surgery was a ride home due to meds. (the next day I was driving and going to the store) You could arrange for that in your new location. My hope is your husband would miss you too much to want to leave you behind? Make sure he is on your side with this and ready and willing to assist if necessary. For me having 4 wisdom teeth removed was worse than this surgery for sure! Be sure you have hubby supporting your journey! Best of luck with your decision stay strong follow instructions and success will come to you! -
Congratulations on your news! Well done......you deserve to celebrate!
-
I agree with the don't give up aspect. It was 8 months for me from start to surgery and my insurance put me through every hoop possible. I stayed focused and provided them with everything they asked. I am now one month post op and so glad I kept fighting for this.... I am very happy with my decision. Best of luck to you and....yes you can...be strong.....don't give up.... you are worth the fight!

Starting Over! replied to secondchancesally's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Oh no....don't get stuck in the one last time zone. I looked at my situation and said it was those foods that got me in this place of need for WLS. I have tasted those foods before and in moderation may again one day. I am finished with making bad choices! You can do it keep busy..find new habits. At this point you need determination to see you through this journey, Stop eating and fix you inter voices.... you have to succeed it is for your health and happiness! Best of luck to you!
