    Obama's birth. is he a U.S. citizen?

I have never voted by party, I vote according to the person/issue. But I am more on the conservative side of financial issues. Obama is the first prez that I have ever actually wanted and been excited about. Every election I'm trying to decide who will do the least damage. Obama is the first potential prez that I really really want to win because I think he will do a great job.

Who had a hiatal hernia repaired?

I've never heard of anyone going in for a band and a HH repair and getting a NF. I've only heard of one person (from another board) that couldn't get a band at all because they have to heal from the hernia repair but to be honest, their doc isn't the best either. I'm sure in that case it was more his skill level than actually necessary to wait before banding. The thing about NF is that usually most docs won't band you if you have an NF, it's too risky.

please help me with lapband info

The horrible doctors of MX that give you crappy bands while claiming they are Inamed bands would probably do it but you won't keep your band for long. The safe doctors that actually DO use a quality band are $7K. Dr. Aceves is one. Alberto Aceves, MD-FACS Certified Bariatric Surgeon

Low cost surgery? Where in the US?

The eastern part of the US is the most expensive. Mexico really isn't a bad option. $7K for a band.

Who had a hiatal hernia repaired?

A Nissen is a pretty extreme procedure. Most of us have HHs but many don't even know until after surgery. A stitch is typically all that is needed to repair.

Where ARE all you skinny ladies??????????????????????

    Hey damnit!

It is unlikely they can see a slip with a flat plate xray. Fluoro... whole different story. If you get a negative diagnosis, there is a 50/50 chance they can see a slip. There is a 100% chance they can see a slip with fluoro.

    Hey damnit!

Denise, too bad you weren't here today! Snowbird and I went to Pappadeaux's and then we went to the AZ state fair. It was fun! I ate my way through the fair but Snowbird was MUCH better about food! We went on rides, it was fun. I really enjoyed myself. Oh... then there was the petting zoo portion, all the little tiny baby animals, they were sooo cute!

I'd give it a bit more time. I'll explain why. Eating is such a basic behavior. We don't have to think about it, we just do it. When you get banded everything changes, absolutely everything. Chewing, bite sizes, food choices, food temperature, everything. It ALL changes. There is a huge learning curve to banding. I'd try something a little different. First of all eggs get stuck for most people, they are even uncomfortable for a sleeved person and we have no stoma. Try tuna salad and a three bite rule. Many times people think they are stuck and really they aren't, they overate. You just can't fathom that maybe for awhile 1/4 cup is all you can eat. So instead of worrying about measuring and such try something different. Three bites every hour. No more and no less. If you find that you can't stop at three bites you have your answer, you are overeating. If you eat three bites and you keep it down, you know your problem is your eating behaviors and not the band. Chew each bites 30 times, even tuna salad! Three bites an hour, every hour. Just try it for one day. See how many times you stoma spew. ;o) If you don't, it's you. If you do, you might need a slight unfill. Try experimenting with TINY quantities of various foods. You have to completely and totally relearn everything you ever knew about basic eating.

Yes, you did tell me about the 36 boughie. Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it. The difference between a 32 and 36 is about a half teaspoon. The difference between a 32 and 40 is about a teaspoon. So really, it's insignificant. I think he's afraid people are going to get strictures. Also, keep in mind, if he used a 36 boughie you have a 34 stomach. The way he oversews the stomach brings it down a size. So instead of a 32 you have a 34 stomach. Maybe 1/4 teaspoon difference. That wouldn't have bothered me. Since your weight is so low, trust me on this one... you'll want that 1/4 teaspoon difference! I have to eat all day long just to maintain my weight. I have to eat soft foods vs. hard Proteins because if I eat hard proteins I can't eat for a couple of hours and I need the calories right now. Yep, I can eat anything just hardly any of it. No more getting stuck, sliming, barfing, stoma spewing, or foaming. No more fills, unfills, follow up appts, it's all history. You are done for life. Feels good, eh? ;o)

Oh yeah! I had the same thing. It really hurt a great deal. After about a week then this fire feeling thing started, it was the muscle where my port was. I'd be doing something and suddenly the burning would start. Felt like someone was holding a hot poker to my old port site. I'm guessing you have scar tissue that is building but that's only a guess since I can't see it. Try not to mess with it, it's hard though. It's natural to touch something that hurts. Tell me, do you miss your band? LOL
  16. I have another "researching Mexican surgeons 101" that I am working on for the sleeve vs. band. If you want it feel free to email me and I'll forward it to you. It's not completely done yet. I've sent it to a few sleeve surgeons in MX for their input and I haven't gotten that back yet but if you want what I have so far just let me know. bipley@gmail.com.

  17. Wannabefree.. glad I could help. I just want people to have a safe surgery and successful weight loss!

    Kick start & motivation!

Weight loss (especially the last 22#) is hard work. Walking probably isn't going to cut it, hard cardio will. Try running, cutting down on calories, cut out white carbs, kick butt, work your body, get out there and lose those pounds! You can do it, it just takes hard work.

    Obama's birth. is he a U.S. citizen?

Considering your past and your rep here, you have to admit your credibility isn't the best around here. (Flat earth? Anyone?) My thinking on the topic is that nobody would have let Obama get as far as he has without verifying that he is on the up and up, if the republicans could have quashed him, they would have done so a very long time ago. Since I've been voting (almost 30 years now) this is the 2nd election that I have not had the need to vote for the least of the two idiots. This is the 2nd election that I have actually voted for a person that I WANT to win because i really think he can do a fantastic job. I'm excited about Obama, I think he will do a very good job and I think he will try to undo a great deal of damage done by republicans and keep in mind... I am a republican. The only way Obama isn't going to win this election is if it is as fixed as the last election. I am ashamed of my party, I haven't voted for my party in 8 years and I'm not voting for my party in this election. Matter of fact, I already voted and I came as close to voting a straight Dem ticket as I ever have. This country needs to be saved from we Republicans.

Any one use Dr. Daniel Huacuz-Tijuana?

I do believe it is common sense.

Any one use Dr. Daniel Huacuz-Tijuana?

I wouldn't, it's usually more expensive and they simply aren't necessary. Just go to the doctor directly. Why mess with a middle man? I don't use a middle man for my medical care here in the US. I choose my own doctor, I don't want to be limited in MD choices because someone doesn't contract with enough doctors. Besides, if anyone is suggesting you go to Huacuz, do you really trust them to lead you to a good doctor? Maybe they have good doctors, maybe they don't. But why would they even suggest you go to one of the worst in MX?
  22. WASaBubbleButt

Any one use Dr. Daniel Huacuz-Tijuana?

They are not rumors, they are facts. Huacuz and Betancourt have the two worst reps in Mexico. Huacuz latest victim (that I know of) was Marty, a DS patient that Huacuz almost killed. Then there was Adrienne, then there was a girl he gave an infection to... actually, there have been many of those. His leak stats for sleeves are poor, his infection stat is out of line, his re ops are the highest of any doctor I am aware of in MX. He used to claim to be FACS until a little digging paid off, he's never been a fellow of the American College of Surgeons as he claimed. The FACS doesn't take kindly to people like Huacuz making such claims. Suffice it to say he will never be FACS now. He's a liar. He claims to have never had a complication with any surgery, that's a flat out lie unless you don't consider infections, leaks, and deaths complications. We used to catch him all the time posting here posing as patients. He's not smart enough to get away with it let alone operate on someone. If you didn't have any complications you are lucky.

Any one use Dr. Daniel Huacuz-Tijuana?

Honestly, the right choice is NOT Huacuz! I'd rather my local butcher do my sleeve than Huacuz. He's nothing short of dangerous. There are only two surgeons I would go to for a sleeve in MX and that is my doc, Aceves or Rumbaut in Monterrey. There is another but he is very expensive and won't let you leave the hospital until you pay for any complications you may have had. There is one on the other side of TX but he lies about his stats, claims he's done far more than he has, he has at least a 2% leak stat, and you couldn't get the truth out of he or his coordinator if you paid them for the truth. Aceves or Rumbaut for a sleeve.

Any one use Dr. Daniel Huacuz-Tijuana?

There is no way I'd let that man do surgery on me, not unless I had a death wish. I do know someone he almost killed doing her sleeve. She left his clinic and went to a San Diego emergency room where she was in ICU for three weeks undoing the damage he did to her. Then he offered her $3,000 to not post of her experiences at his clinic. Suffice it to say, she declined the offer.
