Pain in the Port, Weight Loss Stopped.
WASaBubbleButt replied to lbgirl12's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You haven't had a proper fill yet. It is like buying the most expensive tires on the market for your car, deflating all of them, and wondering why your car won't go fast. YOU HAVE NO TIRES. You have no working fill in your band. It isn't going to take you far. Give your band a chance to work and see what happens then. Listen to your doc, you didn't choose him because he is the WORST in the business, so listen to what he has to say. Hit your sweet spot and get back to us. -
Inspiration weight loss quotes?
WASaBubbleButt replied to Ready4it's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
"Yeah, what Jack says." Doesn't matter what he writes, it is correct. -
Yep, what Jack wrote. If you are gaining weight with restriction, it is YOU that is doing something wrong. I would log every bloody bite that goes in your mouth on Calorie Counter, Diet Tracking, food Journal, Nutrition Facts at The Daily Plate or FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal. Something is wrong and I have a hunch it isn't your band. Only you will know for sure one way or another. The band isn't a magic tool that helps you make the best food choices, it is a tool to lose weight. Best of luck to you!!!

I can't speak for men but I can tell you what the plastics guys suggest for us wim'min folk... Spanx. It's supposed to help abdominal skin grow back to the abdominal wall. Not sure why it would be different for other parts of the body. (back to lurk mode)

Did this happen to anyone else???
WASaBubbleButt replied to mylapspirit's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It's likely "White Coat Syndrome". However, the point is not that it went up once, the point is that it CAN go up that high in your case. Relax, know that alllllllll is good. Watch your BP, maybe consider getting a home blood pressure cuff to monitor and see if you go that high during other stressful times. If so, you might need to be treated. -
HA! I know exactly what you mean about feeling like you were the one being banded. That's how I felt talking to her husband! I was SOOO excited. He likely thought I was pretty odd. At least I did not introduce myself as BubbleButt, he likely would have hung up on me!

Cheaper than Bariatriceating.com
WASaBubbleButt replied to WASaBubbleButt's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Do you like soy sauce? I found a salad dressing that is soooooooooo good! But you have to like soy sauce for it to be any good. It is: Ken's Steak House Lite Asian Sesame with Ginger & Soy Salad Dressing. It's an oil base so ANY veggie, cooked or fresh slides down and works great! I bought it at the grocery store. -
I just found a place that has most (all?) of the same items as Bariatriceating.com but it is quite a bit cheaper in price and shipping. I just completed and order with more stuff than I ever purchased from Bariatriceating.com and the shipping was $4.95, half of what I usually pay BE.com. It is: http://service.netrition.com/ They have a huge variety of Protein shakes, low carb, sauces, crackers, crispy bread, Fiber PRODUCTS FOR THE POOP CHALLENGED(!!) such as crispy bread made of 85% bran and I think the rest is mostly rye flour, etc. A product that I am hooked on is Parmesan cheese crackers. This place has ALL the flavors offered and a cheaper price. Goes great with my tuna. Since I just put in my first order I don't know what the service is like but I should find out next week.

Email sent. Thx. -
I'm going to call again tomorrow and check up on her. But I'm sure everything will be GREAT! SHE'S BANDED!!!!
-
Conditioning and advertising at work.
-
YEA!!!!! You are no longer our "honorary banded person" of the forum! You are back to being ... One Of Us. (Insert theme song to Twilight Zone...) Good to see you are doing well. Anything gained during the infamous unbanding can quickly be lost. You'll do GREAT!
-
Exactly. My doc says nothing by mouth for six hours after PBing, then finish the day with liquids. No solids for the rest of the day after PBing due to swelling caused by the PBing.

Please keep us updated, I'm very interested to see how you are doing. -
Ok. This liquid diet stinks---help me!!
WASaBubbleButt replied to claramae's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Just keep stopping and thinking, how much do you want to be thin and healthy? Bad enough to get through a verrrrry short time in your life of liquids? :girl_hug: It will be over with soon. -
Congrats to you!!!! Welcome to bandland!
-
Not sure why this is but it seems as though most Mexican surgeons use the low profile port during banding and US surgeons use the regular type. The low profile is a bit shorter than the regular one. I'm glad I have the low profile type, it doesn't stick out much.

Where do you keep record of your food?
WASaBubbleButt replied to mare5569's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums

Matrix 5.0 Chocolate. 23gms protein, 120 calories, 2gms carbs. Mix that with 2.5 shots of Da Vinci Raspberry S/F syrup, shake, and enjoy!
-
You have enough protein stores in your body to last a month or more. If you didn't, you wouldn't have had surgery as it would have shown up on your preop labs. People take extra protein, extra iron, extra Biotin.. none of it matters. It will stop when it stops and it will grow back when it grows back. A bariatric magazine I just read has a bariatric surgeon and he claims that it happens (usually) from months 3-11. It seems to be worse between months 4-6. Join the rest of us, it's spooky and creepy... I know. :girl_hug:

Life after being banded. What's dinner with friends like?
WASaBubbleButt replied to guinessgirl77's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Why would you be under the impression you'll be drinking a protein shake when out with friends for dinner? -
Super mega fantastic! OMG, I am thrilled for you! You did it!!!!!

Don't know what this pain was but has anyone had
WASaBubbleButt replied to areellady's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Aren't you glad that a little farting took care of it? Can you imagine calling 911 and farting all the way to the hospital just to find relief? :girl_hug: I disagree with your nurse. Gallbladder can happen anytime. While it is USUALLY symptomatic after food, that's not 100%. Keep in mind, we used to be able to burp from the big stomach, now the band acts like a one way valve and once gas forms in your stomach you have to fart it out. Might want to watch gassy foods and fat filled foods for a bit and mention to your doc what happened. Gallbladder is not out of the picture as long as you have one.
