If someone is that close to dying their odds for surviving bypass drop drastically. I just don't understand why anyone would want the procedure. Boggles the mind.
-
I agree completely.

My Mom died of alcoholism. I did everything I could. I petitioned her to force her into treatment (you can lead a horse to Water and all that happy crap), I went to AA meetings with her, I begged, I pleaded... nada. To be really blunt and honest, I finally got to the point that I knew she would die of alcoholism and I did what I could for me. I did everything I could for her so that when she did die, I could at least say there was no stone unturned. I did it all. I know, not very encouraging but quite frankly, it's true. An alcoholic has to come to terms with themselves and there isn't a bloody thing you can do to speed up that process. We have food, they have alcohol. Is there anything anyone did or said that made a difference to you before you were ready to change your life? Not darned likely. Hang in there, it's no easy task.

It all depends. If it has to do with Sandy it's pulled. Can't have truth come out, that would be a horror.

I have a banded friend who has a sister that had bypass. Not only is she back up to 250 she's very ill with one complication after another. Not sure I buy into the 1 in 350 but it's sure up there. Complications are spooky.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Sandy stuff... post away!

So I have to tell you about this cool wine I have. It's from Mexico, limited edition, only a small amount made, and YUMMY! This is going to sound weird but it's true. It's a red wine with a hint of cocoa beans and fresh vanilla. Amazingly, it's quite good. The store didn't have much when I was there, next time I go back I'll see if they have more but I kinda doubt it. I was supposed to go this weekend but the trip was canceled at the last minute. That leaves me and my wine.

I remember that. Those were the same people that didn't feel they were capable of ignoring thread titles. Of course, they were the folks posting the most.

I have a policy to never turn down alcohol. You see, just tonight there was a bottle of GREAT Mexican wine that kept calling my name. "BubbleButt... ohhhhhhhhhh BuuuuuuuuuubbleButt, come over here Bubble." Well, I couldn't be rude.

See post #11, that's the one I want to try. I thought about adding soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. I LOVE Chinese Chicken Salads and want to make it with a similar flavor but no chicken. Think it would work? -
Gahhhh... tea is nasty. Tastes like something that didn't taste good to begin with just watered down. Wish I liked it, but I don't.

Not necessarily. My absolute two favorite Protein shakes are made with: Matrix 5.0, Water, S/F Raspberry Da Vinci syrup 120 total calories. Also: Matrix 5.0, water, 1 tablespoon of PB2 147 total calories. Yummmmmm Then there is Whey Gourmet w/water Choco/PB w/water and 130 calories.

As I recall it was wrestling in bikinis in Chocolate pudding.

Com'on you guys, this isn't OH... please can we not turn it into an OH wannabe board? We all have a right to post anything we want, I just want OH to stay over there --> and LBT to stay over here <--. We are better, let's show everyone how much better!

Start a thread. Lots of people will join in a new thread but few like to jump in the middle of one 15 pages long!

No, I'd have to disagree. The bible is a combination of many prior myths and it would take going to the actual source of each religion to understand them the least bit well. It is quite difficult to read the bible and see which myth comes from which source. The bible does not explain the source of their info well. Unless you can show me where it says, "This story was copied from "X" myth from two thousand years ago..." I may have missed that part. Nahhh, I'm not interested in a religion debate. I used to but they are boring after time. They never change. It's a bit like debating abortion.
-
Freaky, eh? Hopefully PS will fix my head. I hope so.

First of all, you need to get your terms straight. The word you are looking for is "libel" and not slander. Secondly, the only claims that have been made are that the doctor waited until one week before surgery to announce office policy changed and fees need to be paid before surgery. Is this untrue? Thirdly, the only confrontational post has been made against you, for your less than honest description of the events. For the doctor to be upset about "libel" then you would have to be from the MD office. Hmmm. You are making the doc look pretty bad here. I'd run away quickly if I were you, before the doc actually does see this thread.

The risk those banking on Pascal's Wager don't stop to consider is that they might be worshiping the wrong god. There are tons of them out there. Christianity is not exactly an original religion. There were many that predate that particular religion with the same stories, the same examples, the same everything. So banking on PW is kinda stupid in the sense that they really don't have any idea which one is the real god. Kinda makes you want to shout to the universe, "Will the REAL god please stand up?" I understand belief/faith. I understand wanting a god watching over the people. I don't understand not going to the original source of the myth. Christianity is a myth, it was copied from myths/religions prior to it. So why don't people care enough to go to the original source of the stories, the stuff Christianity was copied from? Wouldn't that give people a better chance at actual truth? But then I can count the number of Christians on one hand that I have met on line and in real time that have actually read the bible cover to cover. This god produces ONE book, just one. It isn't a book of the month club, it's ONE book in a LIFETIME. And people don't care enough to read it. It's supposed to give the rules for the religion yet people don't care enough about their religion to read ONE book. It's really hard to take these people seriously. They go on line and debate their god and honestly, they know very little about their religion, the history of their religion, let alone the validity of their religion. Then they complain that atheists just don't understand. Quite frankly, we understand the bible better than most Christians. We've actually read it and that is the core of the problem most Christians have with atheists in a religion debate. I'm not referring to people in this thread specifically, we haven't debated the topic. I'm writing in general terms.

Amazing, I was just saying that to Lauren yesterday in a PM.
-
It will never happen. At least with a few but with future people at least now they are aware and can make a decision based on fact vs. clique. From there it is up to them.
-
Damn, Wheetsin! Those are REGULAR behaviors on OH! That list is amazingly funny, thanks for posting the link. It did miss the slams and attacks for not agreeing with the clique. Everything else, very familiar.

It's common to be more restricted in the morning vs. the evening. DrC even fills some people so they can't do anything but liquids throughout the day and solids in the evening. It just goes to show how common that issue is.

Everyone is different. It depends on your diet and exercise. Some lose slower, some faster. It's pretty much up to you.
