I'm so sick of seeing her name, hearing about her in the news, I'm sick of it. Enough media people!!!

For me it is Brittany! OMZ I can't stand to read another word about her. I'm sick to death of it. We are in a freak'en WAR and people care about what she thinks of her judge and what Ellen did with a dog. It's hard to even watch the news anymore.

No, I wanted to write that post about researching Mexican docs with links and such to verify credentials but I haven't gotten around to it. Remember, last night I was shooting lettuce out of my nose, didn't go to bed until .. I forget now, 8am? So I haven't done much today.

Actually I DID have the correct address. I PMed the person (it was for protein stuff) and she verified the address. I sent it again and it went through. No clue what was up with that.

Much of this is the same for the US. We don't turn anyone away. Someone comes here from another country, illegally, robs a bank or breaks into a house... we not only take care of all their medical needs but that of the family as well. We can't afford it either. I did not realize you guys were in the same boat as us when it comes to turning folks away. Our old folks are in the same boat. They've been paying into the system their whole lives and when they need help, they have to pay cash since Medicare won't pay much. It's just not right. I don't know what the answer is but I do know that what is happening now isn't working.

Isn't it around $300 for the first fill and $150 for each fill after that? According to the FCUSA person I previously went to she said they are paid $100 per fill regardless if it is the first or 30th fill for that person. Anyway, I really didn't see your post when I wrote that. I do apologize, I had no idea there were even employees of FCUSA posting. Someday I'll read ahead before posting.

I now have two more people to send them to so I have to get to the PO. One time I really did send stuff out on time and I got it back from the PO saying it wasn't a good address. The ONE time I sent it out on time and I got it back! HA!

AAAAAAAHHHHHHH! You know how I am, I sent one and the other is sitting at my doorstep waiting to mail. It's the Da Vinci samples. I have it all packaged up but haven't actually made it to the PO yet. I take it I should not send these to your parents? Or are you going back there?

Never ever go directly through FillCentersUSA. Always call the provider directly. Most of them will only charge you $100 vs. the $300 that FillCentersUSA charges. If you go through FCUSA they charge the full fee and the provider has no choice but to charge you that. They get $100 per fill, period. If you contact the provider without going through FCUSA they are more likely to just charge the $100. Need to lose... if you do go to Aceves you can always go with us for our group fills. We have fun, you are always welcome to join us. It's a lot cheaper that way too. Most of all your surgeons do your fills and they do them under fluoro. It's better and cheaper.

Maybe I misunderstood the question, I thought it was should she drive or fly. I would have preferred a 1 hour flight over 5 hours of driving after my own surgery.

Probably Saturday I'll get some photos. Going out of town with a friend and we are taking a camera anyway.

I had never written anything to you but compliments on your sense of humor and how much I enjoyed your posts at that time and you DO have a heck of a good sense of humor when in the mood. All the sudden you made bogus claims, insulted me, made up huge stories, and it simply wasn't true (I have the link if you wish). I didn't even confront you in public, I took it to PM and asked you to defend your claims. You were rude, hostile, inappropriate, refused to back up your claims, told me you didn't have to (truth is, there is no way you could have backed up those claims as they were not true. You are gonna make me get hammered here by everyone. No, I wouldn't go to TJ for surgery. I figure the Mexican gov't doesn't have their army stationed there for no reason when they claim TJ is one of the most dangerous cities in Mexico. (Watch, I'm gonna get yelled at now) With that said, I've yet to hear of a patient being harmed. I do have a friend that won't go there anymore because the policemen keep stealing her money but that is why I went to Mexicali. It's quite a bit different. They pay policemen actual living wages vs. less than minimum wage such as TJ, the crime is much less, they have tourist police that are in marked "tourist police" cars for we idiots that have horrible Spanish skills and personally I have no problem walking in Mexicali alone at night. And I do. The plastic surgeon I *really* want is Alejandro Crespo in TJ but it was location that bothered me. Besides, if I go to the creep in Mexicali (he's good, just arrogant) then it's also driving distance for me. Your question isn't ignorant in the least. When I talk about the idiot Americans I'm referring to those that go to Mexico for banding and then tell the Mexican staff "wetback" jokes. Or scream and swear at them the day after surgery because they want real GD food and not this watery slop. One girl stood in the hallway and screamed at the top of her lungs because she wanted surgery and wanted to mail the doc a check after her procedure when she got home, she "forgot" the cashiers check. Then there are the fist fights between Americans because they wanted some stupid thing and another wouldn't give it to them. Really, it's just like the US hospitals but I'm embarrassed by it in Mexico. I mean, com'on.... how stupid and idiotic do you have to be to think a Mexican nurse and MD will laugh at wetback jokes? I guess I didn't see the poster as being rude, I saw the person as sharing his/her opinion as well as asking why one would eat crappy food. Believe me, we've had the 'crappy food' discussion before and I am on the side of... if it works for you and you are getting your nutrition in and losing weight... all the power to you, do what works for you. But I think we also need to remember that everyone has their passion in this fight against fat. Mine is people researching their docs before signing up for surgery, another person's passion is "starvation mode is a myth", another is "Protein shakes are eeeevil!" We all have our passions and sometimes it comes out different than intended. On line there is no tone of voice, there are no facial expressions, just words on a screen. That makes things sound a whole lot different than intended. Then one person saying they are going to drop it than the passive aggressive tone in the very next post... that's not dropping it. Sitting on the sidelines here I think there were misunderstandings about intent and what was meant as a slam vs. a suggestion and question. That's my opinion.

That's not really true, I can read your tone. You haven't been upset with any of us or the comments, usually this topic turns into a bit of a war. It hasn't. I do believe you are a little miffed with the restaurant or you wouldn't have asked us to email them and help the cause. I just happen to disagree with the cause. Why would you embarrass anyone by your quantity of food? This is a lifelong issue and if they are embarrassed over your portion sizes, they probably need to get used to it. I know that when I go to a restaurant I don't pay the least bit of attention to what anyone is eating or how much they are eating. I couldn't care less. I have a hunch most folks are like me in that respect. Also, it's not a bandster's code of ethics. It is a matter of personal opinion. I think if I were a restaurant manager I wouldn't give bandsters discounts. I doubt many ask to pay triple the fee when they ate enough for three people. That's how buffets work, some eat less, some eat more. It balances out. If I was a manager I'd be giving old people discounts, blind people, mentally retarded people. Not folks that are finally eating more normal size portions of food. Either we want people to stop singling us out for food issues (ever feel like the fat person that just walked into a room? I sure did!) or we don't. But to want to BE normal we have to PAY like normal people and not ask for special treatment. I'm all into saving money but I already do. In my overall grocery bill. The enjoyment of the evening is also the cost of the meal, not just food. It takes a long time to get over the fat mentality and I'm not really sure any of us get over it completely. I don't know. But I know I have come a very long way in the last year and I didn't do all this hard work so I could continue being singled out for fat issues.

My shake is 120 calories, 2 carbs, and 23gms Protein. It's the carbs that are a killer. It's the whole blood sugar spike issue. Without carbs I'm not hungry for hours. If I made it with milk (blahhh) the carbs would do me in and I'd be hungry quickly. I happen to prefer Water and for me, that's good. My friend makes these elaborate shakes with various puddings, fruit, milk or juice, and a little protein mix. She's hungry within an hour and she just drank a 300 calorie shake. Me? I just use Matrix, water, and S/F Raspberry syrup and I'm good to go for 3-4 hours. But not everyone is like me, some need solids in their pouch. But I think I've been banded long enough that I have an easier time with head hunger issues than someone more recently banded. That's the part that takes a long time to deal with. So my guess is it is head hunger, carbs causing blood sugar spikes, or maybe you just aren't a Protein Shake person. It doesn't work for everyone. You have to go with what works for you.
