    New Scale that measures hydration?

I think you'll find that it will still do a good job for you. The quality balance beam scales last forever. And besides, when you are old and gray the thing will be worth a fortune. From my research Health O Meter scales are the best. Every source I found said the same thing and the HOMs are cheaper than many (most?) other similar scales.

    New Scale that measures hydration?

It comes with everything needed to calibrate it. It measures in 1/4 pounds, kilos or pounds, has wheels since it weighs so much, I can even measure how tall I am so I'll know when I start shrinking as I get old. It goes up to 500lbs which is good because usually they go to 300lbs and I have a friend who has no scale to weigh on. She exceeds the limits of most scales. I have wanted it forever and I just couldn't justify it. I finally justified it two ways. I hate my scale now, it's a cheapo from Walgreens and besides, this one is accurate (balance beam) and it really will last the rest of my life assuming I don't gain weight and exceed 500lbs. You know, honestly I decided that I have worked really hard on weight loss issues. I have barfed in ways I didn't know were possible, I have given up most of my favorite foods (bread, pizza, etc.), I have dealt with head issues, I still deal with head issues, I have done absolutely everything necessary to lose weight including running to the point of having blisters cover 1/3 of the bottoms of my feet. I deserve to see the numbers on a *real* scale. So the huge monster will be delivered Monday. YEA ME!

    Obama forgets to salute flag...........

I still say Hillary is holding a boob in place and now it appears that Bush is protecting his belly button. That's giving him the benefit of the doubt about the heart location thing. At least the children in this photo know where their heart is.

    Petty yet annoying

I can't edit, it won't let me. I meant phony, not phoney.

    Petty yet annoying

Yep, I agree with this too. Old folks it doesn't annoy me, they come from a time when it was okay to do that and they are not trying to be rude in the least. But when someone 20 years younger than me uses it 100% of the time vs. my name, I find that I just want to smack them and remind them of MY name. It is phoney the way some use it. There is one person that I finally asked to quit calling me sweetie. I was nice about it but told her I didn't like it. Besides, she called everyone that and when she would say, "Sweetie, do you know where "X" is?" We all ignored her, we didn't know who she was talking to.

The way YOU do it makes sense. I've done that too. That I can handle. It's the people that refer to everyone as Hun, Honey, whatever... that just annoys me. But you don't do what I'm referring to.

    E-Bay Feedback.. GRRR!!!

If he used his debit card via PayPal with a VISA/MC logo there is still buyer protection if it has not passed the time limits of your bank. If he used money from his PayPal account he is likely SOL.

    E-Bay Feedback.. GRRR!!!

Please email me quickly. With a debit card there is usually buyer protection if it has a VISA or MC logo on it but there are time limits. We need to get moving on this.

What interests do you have that most people think is strange?

Yep, antiquarian books. I collect books that are 150 years to 1000 years old. The books I love most are regarding medicine and the other is books on slavery from the Civil War era. I have one of the two remaining copies of a book that was pro slavery from the mid 1800s and mine is in fantastic condition, the other is not. It justifies why slavery is acceptable and a good/necessary thing. Mind you, I don't agree with the book but I have always been curious how people could justify such behaviors. Holding and reading a book that someone from 1000 years ago held and read... it's a very cool feeling. Also, I collect antique medical instruments. I'm telling you, when they coined the term, "Practicing medicine," they weren't kidding.

    Bread!?

How did Atkins work for you before the band? Bread is difficult for many. I wasn't sure I'd be able to do it but then I realized that the very foods I did not want to give up were the foods that got me fat to begin with. Consider this, if you have a photo of a loaf of bread and a photo of you thin, which do you want more? Honestly consider that, which do you want more? Is the bread more important to you than losing weight? Sometimes you just plain have to pick which one you want more. If you want the bread and it turns out you can't tolerate bread you can have the band removed. Is it worth it to you to do that? One thing I think you might find is that after time you just really won't care. I haven't had a full slice of bread since last December and you know what? I couldn't care less. food is verrrrrry important to the newbies. Look at the posts, the newbies are all about what can I eat and how much of it can I have. The old timers don't really care that much about food. We ALL had an obsession with food. Things like... while eating Breakfast you are thinking about what you are going to have for a snack and then lunch. While eating lunch you are thinking about what you will have for a snack and then dinner. When you decide to go to a restaurant you start thinking about what you will order. Yet a thin person doesn't even consider what they will have at the restaurant until they are there looking at the menu. When you go to a restaurant if the portion size is not large, do you decide to find something that is a bigger portion? Most of us did. The obsession with food and missing bread really does go away if you happen to be one of the majority that don't do well with bread. You really will get to the point that you just don't care. There is actually a trick to eating bread for those of us who typically can't. I won't tell what it is for obvious reasons but the reason I bring this up is that I LOVE bread. It really is a big reason of why I was fat. Today I know the trick to eating bread and you know what? I never eat it because I just don't care. This is the part of banding that is the hardest. The head stuff. "What can I eat and how much can I have?" Well, with a band there will likely be foods you can't eat and your quantities will be small. This is really hard and the head stuff is what got you fat. With the band you are essentially forced to deal with the head stuff. Honestly, you'll get to the point that you just don't care if you eat bread or not.

    tired and weak

Low blood pressure can make you feel that way. Were you a coffee drinker before surgery? Soda drinker? Anything with caffeine? Could this be the problem?

    Can I share an NSV???

Super fantastic! Good job, makes all the band "fun" well worth it!

Isn't it kinda like asking someone with a heart transplant when they'll be having it removed? Or a total knee replacement? Or or or...

Even if you did talk to your kids in a disgustingly sweet way, at least you KNOW them. I hate it when people I don't know call me "hun" or something similar. I think someone should just go shoot them.

    Petty yet annoying

I know what you are talking about but that's not what I refer to. Something along the lines of... "Hi hun, how are you feeling hun? I'm well, hun. What will you be doing on your day off tomorrow, hun?" Like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.

    New Scale that measures hydration?

Consumer Reports did a bit on scales that claim to measure body fat and hydration and there wasn't a single scale that was even close. They also found that assorted digital scales are not good long term as they tend to break down quickly and easily. I'm a bit obsessed with scales too. I'm obsessed enough that I just spend $180 on a scale! It should be delivered Monday but in all honesty, it should last me the rest of my life. It too, is a Health O Meter. HealthOMeter 402KLWH (Health O Meter) Physician Balance Beam Scale It's not exactly "small" so I haven't quite figured out where I am going to keep it but at least I'll have a scale I won't question anymore.

    Going to Mexico?

I realize this is an old thread but each time I see this link I have to laugh. Do you suppose those that have this on their website know what "urban legend" means? Check out the sutures on that port. They aren't cut. What did the US surgeon do, rip it out of the abdomen? Honestly, how did they remove the port without cutting the sutures? Some docs will do anything to down Mexico as a whole. Not really bright in the end, it tends to chase away people who actually use their critical thinking skills.

I'm going to Mexico for my plastic surgery in December, can't imagine going anywhere else! I LOVE the medical care in Mexico.

7 Years Post Op - Now a Problem (Need advice)

When you are doing IVF you typically take high doses of hormones. That might be part of the problem. Maybe it is a slip. But if it is a slip it isn't the end of the world. If you catch it early then 80+% of the time it is totally fixed with a complete unfill and liquids for anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks. Get it checked out quickly. You need a fluoro exam.
  25. I haven't tried Cappucino. I don't care for the Chocolate Whey Gourmet, I tried adding Raspberry S/F syrup and that didn't help any. I'll try it again with PB2 and if that doesn't work I'll give it away.
