    Alli diet pills

Personally, I wouldn't dream of taking that particular drug. It does not require trying it in order to read the directions. The directions flat out suggest keeping a fresh change of "dark" colored clothing due to leaking orange goo from your back side. I don't need to try that for myself, I believe the drug company. I never suggested you not try it, that is your choice. I merely suggested keeping Depends on hand. If you choose not to do that, that too is your choice. To each his own.

HA!! You know, I'll bet you I read this post 5 times before it clicked what thread I was reading. I couldn't believe BabyGrl was giving this info! BWAHAHAHAHA!

The only one that has done any flaming is MB. I'm still floored over her comments.

What did we misunderstand about this? Misunderstanding? Nope, not on this end. I understand quite well.

Edie!!!! THAT'S the person I have been trying to remember. I think she needs to read this thread.

    Should I have to

And for goodness sakes, ESPECIALLY here of all places! THIS is the fat sanctuary, this is where we should be the most proud of those that did what they were supposed to do. This is where we should be looking to for support, not slamming someone because they did the job and did it well. Who else but another fatty understands what it takes to get to goal? Chickie... as I have written previously, I don't recall if it was you or someone else (forget her name, tiny little thing with a photo but doesn't post as much as she used to) that wrote once they were considering leaving the boards because of the way they are treated since reaching goal. Now I get it. I didn't then but MB's post made it glaringly clear. I am so sorry you have to put up with this teenage level jealousy, maybe it is even more than jealousy. To me it seems like it is a level of resentment that you were able to meet your goals - plus some. But you know, there is one in every crowd. You just have to ignore those that don't believe they can ever achieve what you have and pass on by them. The good you have done far outweighs the horror that has been inflicted upon you. The majority here need your words of wisdom and isn't that more important than the MB's of the world? Keep doing what you have been and know that the rest of us will take care of those few bad apples.

    Should I have to

Oh my goodness, I can't believe anyone would ever dream of writing something like this on a weight loss message board. That certainly took guts. Not a great deal of class or tact, but lots of guts. I've never put a huge amount of stock in claims made about what and who is PMing them. If someone's opinions are strong enough to write in a PM, they are valid enough to put in writing for all to see. So I guess I really don't believe you about all this "back up" you have from unknown people. Let me tell you something, Chickie busted her ass to lose weight. She didn't sit around whining about things, she got her big butt out there and lost her big butt. She followed the diet, she exercised, she dealt with head issues, she worked her band, she did EVERYTHING she was supposed to do. And you have the gall to sit here and type out this load of crap? You sound like you are about the most jealous and envious person I have ever come across on this board. I read a great deal here and have never seen anything as low down, classless, and lacking in basic manners than this. You do realize, of course, that most people tend to forget and forgive minor BS written on message boards. We all know that people have their off days. However, this one will never be forgotten. Looks like we know who has been leaving the tasteless and childish messages on Chickie's blog.

Not eating solids - For a LONG time~

Why would you cut back on walking? You'll lose weight better with exercise. You will naturally lose faster in the beginning than you will towards the end. Take full advantage of this time frame because you'll regret it later if you don't when the pounds are no longer melting off. In the beginning you really aren't losing much fat anyway. Your body will begin burning glycogen and for every gram of glycogen you burn you'll lose 4gms of Water. After that comes fat. So take full advantage of this time frame, don't go over the calories prescribed by your doc and if you are tolerating it well, for goodness sakes don't cut back on walking.

    Bad Foods?

I eat lettuce daily. Bread... that's a different story. Everyone is different, there is no way to predict what you will or won't be able to eat. You'll find out when you try it and it doesn't work.

Crazy psychology first week after 1st fill

Don't worry about getting tired with smaller meals. When you burn the calories you consume on a daily basis you will start burning fat. Remember, fat is stored energy.

    Disappointed

Okay, I realize this isn't the end of the world but it still makes me sad. I worked really hard to get to goal and I did it. Lost 103lbs in 10 months and two more pounds since then. My goal from Day #1 has been to be banded, lose weight, and have plastic surgery in less than a year, it's what kept me going. That's what kept me in check with calories, running, the works. I was banded 12/6/06, lost weight, met goal, tummy tuck scheduled for 12/03. My goal, right? Everything in a year. This type of plastic surgery carries more risk than banding, much more risk. Mortality stats are higher, potential complications are higher, rate of complications are higher. Because of all this I wanted my band surgeon IN the OR during surgery and he is sweet enough to comply with my request. While he couldn't do much to help the plastic surgeon *I* know he is a trauma surgeon and if a weird complication did happen I wanted him taking over my case. I wanted him calling the shots if I couldn't for any reason. He has the experience and skill to do so. Besides, I really really can't stand the plastic surgeon. He's a butthead. He is arrogant and I am blunt and to the point. The two really don't mix well. I went to Mexicali today with a friend and talked to my bariatric (fat) surgeon. He explained that he won't be available for the time I'd need to be in Mexicali, he has to go out of town. I'd be in the hospital a minimum of two days and hotel for at least the remainder of a week. There is a "thing" about having confidence in your doc and I do have that with my "fat" doc. I don't have it with my plastic surgeon. Yeah, the plastics guy is good and he is very skilled but he's still arrogant and I'm still blunt. It's not a great combo. The time is coming SOON when I will have to tell him how he is. My "fat" doc asked me to put off the TT for a few days, at least. Due to scheduling he wants me to have the TT no earlier than 12/10/07. Yep, it's only a week but it blows my big huge goal of closing the "fat" chapter of my life in a year. Something I was really proud of. I know, it's petty. But it's the petty stuff in life that bug me the most. Amazingly, the big stuff doesn't bother me much. :car:
  14. Okay, I'll play. According to the first study I don't see it broken down by complication. I did find the study and although it is 50 pages or so, nowhere does it provide a complete list of all the possible complications so I'm not seeing what the point is in bringing up this study. Nowhere did I see the % of erosion. The second study you show doesn't provide a link but I found it anyway. Here it is: Intragastric Band Erosion After Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding for Morbid Obesity: Imaging Characteristics of an Underreported Complication -- Hainaux et al. 184 (1): 109 -- American Journal of Roentgenology Note the date in the following: During this time frame the band needed adjustments and the technique for placement changed quite a bit because in the beginning (1992) people were slipping and eroding at high rates. Even so, with the previous technique where slips and erosion were quite high they report a total erosion stat of: Earlier in this thread it was suggested that erosion is the fault of the patient for not following the doc's rules. Check this out: Pretty much what I wrote, a band that is too small or a fill that is too tight for a long time. Now, with that said I can see where this study might be suggesting that those who barf constantly (PB) could be contributing, but we really don't know. When one doc has a 0.0016% erosion stat and another has a 4% erosion stat, does one doc just have better patients? Patients that are more compliant? The other doc is plagued with patients that won't do a bloody thing they are told? Does this sound reasonable to you? Another thought... Have you ever been to a dentist and one dentist claims that you have a cavity and you go to another dentist and he claims you don't have a cavity? I have. Years ago I went to a dentist and he claimed I had 11 cavities and they all needed to be filled. I didn't believe that. I went to another dentist before having all my teeth drilled full of holes and cement placed in them. The second dentist said that I had no cavities and life was good. Years later one did turn into a cavity. So who was right, the first or second dentist? Was the first dentist overly cautious and called everything he saw a "cavity" or was the second dentist not cautious enough when he said there were none? Is it possible that what Dr. G believes is erosion is perhaps... not? Understand, I'm not claiming this is the case here. I am only throwing out ideas, thoughts, possible explanations, etc. Here is another problem: What does this mean? Does this mean the doc with zero erosions was really good and the 11% guy is really bad? How can one experienced surgeon have zero erosions and another experienced surgeon have 11% erosion? Does it mean erosion is being misdiagnosed? The skill level is not good in the 11% guy? Quite frankly, reading this study that is impossible to determine. This is the problem with studies. The way they are done, the people they study, the docs that did the procedure... they are ALL different. You can bring out 100 studies to prove your point, I can bring out 100 studies to prove my point. The reality is that people have to compare stats, compare skill level, compare experience, compare absolutely everything vs. reading claims on message boards and make up their own mind. But they have to ask and verify what they have been told to the best of their ability, they have to be good consumers, they have to research everything, they have to do it the right way and THEN make a decision. I would hope nobody would dispute this?

I hate it when people post just to post.....

No, it didn't slip. I have xray vision and when I post on message boards I know when someone has slipped. Besides, MY doctor said I could eat a loaf of bread and a mega huge bowl of spaghetti two hours after surgery and it was okay. If it is okay for me it is okay for you.

The vote is in, Chickie. You are now "required" to put the photos/stats back up.

Just starting in Utah Please HELP

I had my surgery by Dr. Aceves. He's great. He does require two nights in the hospital vs. one night in the hospital and another in a hotel.
  18. HA! Anyone else getting the feeling that there are only three people posting on this thread and I am one of them? Many IDs, many posts word for word that are the same as PMs I am getting yet one ID is used for PMs, another is used for posting. Yet word for word they are the same. Every single time there is the least bit of controversy in any thread regarding Dr. Gonzalez all these new IDs show up and amazingly, they are drawn to a Dr. G thread like a magnet. Brand new posters, exact same opinions as others. Makes one wonder if Dr. G has more than two patients. Doesn't credibility mean anything to you? Do you not see how obvious it is? On another thread regarding how to research Mexican doctors I suggest people not believe anything they see on line, believe nothing ANYONE tells you and verify everything for yourself. Absolutely everything. This is a pretty good example of why that is. I don't know if Dr. G is a great doc or a horrible doc. Not a clue. But after I wrote the 4% erosion stats now instead of suggesting I am wrong, a liar, mistaken, in error, blah blah blah... now there are new studies popping up showing that erosion is 7%. I take it a couple folks here verified that I wasn't a "liar" and his stats are indeed 4%?

Not that anyone is going to fess up to this but I'll take a chance. Who voted for #2? >> Yes, but protesting at funerals is wrong.<< I'd LOVE to meet a person that agrees with Phelps on ANYTHING!

My poops hurt very bad, I have to push really hard to get them out and then they come out in little balls. And it's green with yellow dots, is that normal? I usually have to sit on the toilet for 16 hours just to PUSH out one little green ball. I think I stretched out my poopershooter because when I looked with a mirror it was bleeding so I used toilet paper and checked and there was BLOOD!! OMG! Am I going to DIE? I'm bleeding to death. Do you think I have cancer?

I bought a new scale to weight myself on. It says I lossed 10 pounds yesterday. I am excited that I can loose that much weigh in one day but I think I need a fill. I'm very lose right now. It's 3 days since surggery and I ate a whole fried chicken. How come BubbleButt's head just popped? What is foaming? My port hurts and it is draining yellow stuff, I keep a cup under it to drain in, it's coming out pretty fast. I'm going to take it to my doctors next month to see if I should worry about it or not. My port hurts so bad it's worser than CHILDBRITH!!

    Paying for it on own

Do call your insurance but keep in mind, they will probably give you wrong information. If they say it is not covered don't take their word for it. Read your policy yourself, look it up on line, verify. Don't bank on what you are told on the phone. People come up with the money in all sorts of creative ways. Most creative way I have seen so far is to go dumpster diving and sell the treasures on ebay. Nope, not kidding. When people want it badly enough, they'll do just about anything to get it. I am lucky, I wrote a check for my surgery.

    Banded Nurses?

Hair loss happens with weight loss. When you stop losing for a couple of months you'll notice it growing back in again. If you feel the hairs behind your ear you can watch for stubble. We had quite a few people researching hair loss recently. We read everything we could find on it. We were all trying different things and in different combinations. Protein, Biotin, Iron, B complex, special shampoos, conditioners, the works. It will slow down then go fast, slow down then fast again. It just plain won't stop falling out and regrowing for a couple of months after maintenance. I probably lost 50% of my hair. Sucks, eh? Everyone swears it will grow back. I'm banking on that! HA!
