    What to do? Quilting?

I don't know how to knit, I don't know how to crochet, I don't know how to do quilting, I am bored with counted cross stitch, I can't see colors well, and latch hook sucks. I can't do anything. :Banane34: What about weaving? I really really want a floor loom but before I spend $5K on a good quality floor loom I want to make sure I actually LIKE weaving so I found a guy on ebay that sells little looms on a stand. Not sure I can do that though. I have to be curled up in a ball for 15 days after plastic surgery. I thought I just couldn't stand up straight, not so. Plastic surgeon guy said I have to be curled up in a ball. Hunched over and everything. I guess weaving on a small loom is out too. How hard is it to learn knitting, crocheting, etc.? I'd have to get all the stuff I need before surgery since I can't drive either. You know, doctors always say no driving but usually it's because of pain meds and such. My doc made it VERRRY clear that is not the case here. I can't sit up straight to drive. I guess I could drive like little old ladies that are headless in the car in front of you. I'm just too hyper to sit still. I can see where the first day or so I'm not going to want to do anything but 15 days? Sheesh... I can't go 15 minutes without doing something. Pot holders... anyone want a pot holder? A scarf? No clue just how fugly it will be but I'll try. HA! Is there such a thing as buying the top part of the quilt that is already done (and set correctly) and just doing the busy work of putting the three layers together? I can't even sew a straight hem, how will I sew little squares without going batty?

    Swopping one obsession???

I was totally obsessed with calories, carbs, calories burned, etc. but now that I've reached goal I'm not nearly as bad. Actually, I wish I was. If I put forth no effort I don't gain and I don't lose. If I put forth effort I lose. I want to lose another 10lbs. I'm not missing two hours of running daily either.

I don't post pics, it's my choice. I have little desire to post my photo on the internet. However, you are free to contact Denise822, neveragain, or Lucki. I've met them all in person. They can all tell you I exist and about my weight loss. Neveragain is going to be watching my plastic surgery (medical student) so I'm pretty sure I'm a very real person, and honest... unlike you. Lucki saw me at my fattest and at my thinnest considering I have lunch with her often and we live near one another. Lizrbit, run along and find a new hobby. You are boring the normals.

So who would you like to meet?

Lauren, do you get the impression someone doesn't really have the world blocked as they claim? How would anyone know if I agreed to a child's game or not unless they read the post. Hmmm.... You know, I've been ignoring the child's play but I think since nothing seems to be getting done about this little problem it's time I start responding to the problem.

Is this normal? Happened to anyone else??

One thought that comes to mind is that if you are irritated and swollen (your stoma) you need to finish the day with liquids. You kinda have to give your stoma a rest. If you don't it turns into a cycle where the more you eat the more you slime and spit. What if you try liquids for two or three days (full liquids) and gradually go back to solids? Sometimes it's amazingly hard to determine which foods will work which days but with lots of time, practice, and patience you get the hang of it. Your restriction does change from day to day. Hour to hour sometimes. Just take it easy, go slowly, don't push anything and give yourself time to figure out all the unique things with you and your band. We ALL have very different experiences. It takes time to learn how to work with your band.

Do You Agree With Brad ??

I understand what you are saying but I don't see SSDiva as saying everyone IS hypocritical, I see her as saying she sometimes FEELS that way. Not being a Christian brings out the bizarre types many times. Check out an atheist board someday and just see which folks are representing Christianity in an attempt to convert the heathens. You can't help but to take a double look with a raised eyebrow. I think one of the problems is that most Christians are just out living their lives doing their thing. The crazier of the Christians are the ones that are screaming the loudest. Televangelists for example, Fred Phelps is another. When some of us are bombarded with the crazy types it sometimes does SEEM like the whole religion is batty. But if you really pin folks down I suspect they will say something similar to my point. The loud mouthy obnoxious folks are taking it upon themselves to represent the religion but that doesn't mean everyone is like that and the more rational of we non Christians know that regardless of how it seems on some days.

I'd sure like to shoot some antipsychotics someone's way.

Do You Agree With Brad ??

Who is judging all Christians? I am not a Christian any longer but I can still see who attempts to live their beliefs vs. those who use their beliefs to slam dunk others.

    My hair!!!!

I'm spending $30 on 5oz of shampoo and another $30 on 5oz of conditioner for thin hair. It's not doing a bloody thing but I keep buying it anyway so I am at least doing something. Mine quit falling out but it hasn't started growing back yet. Time will tell.

Do we really forgive if we can't forget?

I have a bit of a different take on this issue. The first time I heard this concept I thought it was a bunch of whooey but after I really thought about it, it kinda makes sense to me. I think that for the most part people do the best they can for that particular moment. If they could have done better, they would have done better. All of our experiences from the past create who we are today. Sometimes that's a lot of baggage for some folks to carry around and it takes time to work through that. Maybe they did something bad or wrong, but isn't it a reasonable thing to suggest that if they could have done better at that very moment, they would have? Life is a huge learning experience, a really really huge one. We are testing the waters with each move we make. As we learn, we do better. As we accept the consequences of any experience (good or bad) we usually do better. How many times have you regretted "X" action? So why didn't you do better and why did you do "X" action? You knew it was wrong when you did it, that's what makes it wrong. So why didn't you do better? If you could have, you would have. But something got in the way. Ego, anger, frustration, pride, revenge, something. So you learn from it and move on.

I hate it when people post just to post.....

If they were not ashamed of their own behaviors they would use their usual ID. I realize there are some that have some emotional problems and honest to goodness I feel sorry for them and if I could change that for them, I would. But that is not an excuse for all behaviors. Sometimes people just have to take responsibility for their own actions. If someone is posting under their usual ID and it's a little on the bizarre side, I understand and I tend to think they are just dealing with their stuff. But to intentionally create a new ID tells me they know full well what they are doing and it's just poor behavior they are ashamed of and not emotional problems rearing it's ugly head.

    Big Losers....come in here please!!!!!

I had the same back pain 100lbs ago. I'd stand and within a couple of minutes I had to bend over to ease the pain. The weight of your gut can be really hard on your back. With that said it still would be a good idea to get it checked out. It could be lots of things. An xray might at least make you feel better to know it isn't anything that needs surgical attention. And if there is something going on, you can get it fixed.

To anyone in the medical field...

Most surgeons will give you Heparin or Lovenox before surgery to prevent blood clots. As for BCPs, it is surgeon preference. Some require you stop them, some don't.

I heard they can "install" the band through your left armpit to avoid unsightly scars.

    My hair!!!!

Anything you do will be busy work so you feel like you are at least doing something. People will swear their docs say increase Protein, try Biotin, etc. In reality, it will fall out if it is going to fall out and stop when it is going to stop.

I hate it when people post just to post.....

I worked for a company that used to send me on long term contracts all over the valley. One was a hospital that had a huge patio area and a ton of pigeons. I know, people don't like 'em but I do. There was one pigeon that became my friend. He would take food from my hand. This nasty mean hospital had horrible nettings to catch them so they would break a leg and eventually die. I've never seen anything like it before. I've seen drowning cages, traps, etc., but not netting for this purpose. One bird caught his leg in the netting and ripped off a toe instead of breaking a leg and dying slowly. The toe became infected. We got pharmacy to look up the right "bird" antibiotics and twice daily I would feed the bird and there were antibiotics hidden in the food. He recovered well. The employees started screaming about the netting being cruel and inhumane, the hospital ignored us. But when the patients started complaining they decided to pay attention. So they got drowning cages instead. When a bird was trapped in a drowning cage I'd let it out. But I got caught. They told me if I did that again they would end my contract. I told them that was fine, end it. But what would the media think of a hospital catching birds that the old people dearly loved and drowning them. Just think what a great method of publicity that would be! Next day the drowning cages were gone.

Do you really believe you have any credibility when you have to create this ID to slam others? Seriously, you created this ID to follow me around and cause problems. Let's face it, you have already pretty well admitted this. With all due respect, get over yourself.

I wasn't attacking you, you asked for opinions and I gave you mine. The whole wonderful and fantastic idea behind the band is the days of orange pooh goo, space suits, red saran wrap, starch blockers, fad diets, weight loss gimmicks... those days are over. There is no longer a need for the horrors of weight loss. There is a thread here you might want to read. A couple actually. One is about Xenical and the other are diets people have tried over the years. Seriously, everything from wearing space suit types outfits (steam bath concept?) to wrapping yourself in saran wrap before going running. You asked for opinions, I gave you mine. It just isn't an attack if I don't agree with the need for more drugs such as this. I gave you what you asked for, my opinion. I have no clue how you take that as an attack. If you want people to agree with you then you'll have to explain that. If you want the opinions of others then you can't accuse people of attacking if they do as you request.
