I think you are my new favorite poster. I tend to agree with you. If people were flaming the newbies when they ask these questions I'd agree with the nice police. But we aren't. I think most anyone here would do just about anything they could for anyone posting.

The Monday after Thanksgiving I received no less than 50 PMs from people. Most of them had the usual T-Day depression. Either they wanted to eat and couldn't, or they wanted to eat and did. Mind you, 50 PMs. Not from 50 different people, but people that were in need and PMing back and forth especially throughout the morning. I did not ignore a single PM. I responded to ALL of them. I typed until my fingers were numb. If I objected I wouldn't have done that. If we are all such raving bitches around here why are we all getting PMs from people in need? Amazingly, I didn't tell a single person they were repeating what is already posted, I didn't provide links to where it was already posted. I didn't refer them to anyone else. I didn't do any of that, I wrote everything out for each person according to what their questions were to the best of my ability. If I want one place to come and kick back without little annoying Poodles attached to my ankle screaming, "MEANIE!!" then so be it. That place is here. Some people whine about the way others help, some people critique the way others do it. Some stomp their feeties and play holier than thou. Some people appoint themselves as the "nice" police. The rest of us get out there and do it.

Flaming? Who is flaming you? Disagreeing with your point of view is not flaming, it's communication. Does everyone who disagrees with you flame you? As other have posted, there is a pretty clear warning notice on this forum. If you don't want to heed the warnings we can't help you. If this thread offends you I'd urge you not to read it. If you believe anyone who disagrees with you is flaming you, we can't help you with that one either. I was Catholic too at one time.

As we have discussed before, you are in a different boat with diabetes, insulin resistance, etc. But the reality is such, you are not going to lose faster by having double the calories to burn. It just isn't going to happen.

I have to take my original comment back. Other than my sis going around my home town telling everyone I went to a filthy hospital in Mexico and my prognosis is not good (I hear I am dying), I haven't really had any negative comments of significance. BTW, my skanky sister who is telling everyone I went to high school with that I'm dying, she'd like the contact info for the filthy Mexican hospital for her own band. Go figure.

Gonna try this again, just deleted my last message because I went off on a tangent and didn't address your post. When someone erodes there is a hole in their stomach. Gastric acid drains down and can cause a hole in the intestine. That causes a HUGE infection. Poop in your abdominal cavity... think what that can do. The infection can cause the port to become infected. So if someone has mega port problems, constant pain, etc., many docs will look for erosion. I'm going to go ahead and repost what I just wrote only cuz it makes me angry (to Lauren): Just happened to a friend of mine. She got a band years ago. A doc in the US recently gave her an infection due to horrific sterile technique. Her port became infected, the infection traveled up her tubing to her band and she eroded. She had her band removed, waited a few months, began to regain, went to a HORRIBLE TJ doc who did her surgery a few weeks ago, he blew it completely, tried to do a sleeve, she ended up in a TJ hospital for 3 weeks, now she's back in the hospital again in the US. She is seriously & critically ill. You know, I begged her not to go there. I told her I would go with her to docs all over Mexico and we would find one she liked. She didn't, she went for price I guess. Now she is not doing well. She couldn't sit at her computer long enough to write out the whole story with details because she is too weak. I don't know if she will be okay or not. Point being, yep... a port infection can lead to erosion.

I don't watch the show, I'm not much into dancing. But I've been following the news. I really do believe if Marie wins it will be a sympathy win vs. something she earned.

There is a big difference that I have noticed. When I told people before I lost weight they just kinda eyed me up and down and looked down their nose at me. Most didn't, but a few did. You could see the expression on their face or the tone of their voice changed. But now I'm smaller than most of the judgmental people so when I say I had WLS they ask me questions. It's as though they are shocked that it actually worked. I think most are used the the reputation of bypass and they assume all surgery types are the same. I am ALWAYS asked how I feel, they are shocked that I feel great. I am ALWAYS asked when I had surgery, I think they expected it to be 20 years ago in order to be at goal. They are usually surprised that I'm not dying. Only other fat people ask how much I've lost and I don't mind because I know why they are asking.

Hear hear. Couldn't agree more. Personally, I don't need a devil type guy to tempt me to do bad things, I'll take responsibility for that one all by myself. If I do something wrong I tempted myself, I talked myself into it, and I take FULL responsibility. Nobody else plays a role, just me. Same goes with the good behaviors. I take full credit for that as well.
