>>Wow, isnt the catholic church just a dandy! You really have to look at religion as a whole, you cant just pick and choose the parts you like best.<< Very true. But people do it anyway. They pick and choose bits and pieces of the bible as it suits them. They also use that same bible to snub their noses at those who are at least honest about the same practice. -

They are a profession just like any other. Are you suggesting doctors should not earn a living? What specifically is your point? No more dodges, just get to the point. What is wrong with ANY doctor making a living if he performs abortions? -
I was also banded by Dr. Aceves in Mexicali. It was $7800, I paid my own airfare. Wouldn't change a thing. Typically banding is about $8K give or take $500 from the better surgeons. Some are cheaper, but you get what you pay for.

Such as ... taxes? BTW, just saw your sig. I used to live in Mission, KS many many many moons ago. Loved it!

Well yeah, there is always the obvious! All kidding aside, people really need to take this to heart. Why wait for a holiday to spend quality time. Hubby and I don't do holidays, never did. Each day was treated well for a reason. Holidays were not necessary.

Probably not in my case. I live in Phoenix. Phoenix is HUGE. Mega huge. I can find just about everything I want within a mile of me. But I get your point. I'm not sure the bad outweighs the good when you look at the whole picture....
-
Actually, you don't have the kind of nerves necessary to feel the band. You are probably feeling post op pain. If you aren't sure, call your doc.
-
Agreed, doesn't sound like a typical MD response, sounds like a homeopath or naturalpath type person. Laura... tell your friend to follow Jacqui's sig.

Sounds like if she was bloated to that degree, she'd be in heart failure. Honestly, sounds like a load of hooey to me.

Paganism? I can live with that.

Again, a point that matters none. Muslims may be the fastest growing group but Christians still outnumber them by 10 fold+. The point is simple, Christianity does NOT stop people from doing bad, they do it themselves and should take full credit for the good as well as the bad. I would never have an abortion but that does not mean I have the right to inflict my beliefs upon others. I think two adults living together is just fine too, does that mean YOU have to do it? Of course not. Anti-abortion folks typically base their abortion beliefs on religion and what is religion? Religion is a BELIEF and not a fact. If it was a fact you wouldn't need faith. Thus, a fact. I think it is a very dangerous idea to begin inflicting beliefs on others. As you say, the next majority might be Muslims, do you want them inflicting their beliefs upon you? No? Then set the rules today. Keep your religion to yourselves and stop inflicting it on others or your grandchildren may be living lives very different from your own and you will only have yourselves to blame. -
Nurses are the WORST!!! You just want to hang them by their silly looking feet with swollen ankles and poke them with a stick that has a sharp pointy thing on the end.

Many (not all) doctors perform abortions and they make money. Many (not all) priests and ministers rape little boys and they make money too. Your point is silly. Maybe they put their patients wishes over your religion. They have the right. -
There is no way the doc WOULD have a problem passing the scope. A colonoscopy goes up your poopershooter, not even close to your band. You colon is not one in the same as your stomach. Completely different end of your GI system.

Health O Meter HealthOMeter 402KLWH (Health O Meter) Physician Balance Beam scale I love it. It's expensive but the thing is, it will last me a lifetime. It will never wear out, I'll never have to buy another so in my case it's a savings.
-
It should be standard everywhere but it isn't. This is a point I make in the link in my sig as well. I'm very sorry for your loss, wish there was something we could do.
-
Nope, I sent yours and Jennypoo's the same night and neither one made it there I guess. I never got them back either.

??? Where did that come from? Someone dares to say something negative about WallyWorld and this is the reaction? If you are pro-Walmart, by all means I would suggest you shop there. We don't all agree, that's all.

Bingo. Another issue is that people DO wake up after surgery but they are supposed to. Due to draping they can't really see the area that was being worked on. They might feel someone tugging and pulling but that is the area being cleaned up and bandaged. This is really verrrry common but in 23 years I've yet to have a patient that really was awake and able to tell us something that really did happen. But a good number swear they were awake. They recite conversations that never happened, the works. Anesthesia is very weird.
-
Honestly, it sounds like a false memory and that is VERY common with anesthesia. My friend swears she heard them say, "Let's extubate her now." She swore it happened, was angry that she was awake, etc. Well, she was never INTUBATED. She had a LMA, not intubation. She remembers all kinds of things that never happened. It seems SO real and people swear up and down it happened but usually if you ask them their biggest fears before surgery, that is exactly what they remember happening during surgery. Thing is, it never happened. She swears she felt them sewing her up, the works. It never happened, all false memories and all exactly the same things she feared before having surgery. It seems so real it is hard to believe it didn't happen but the drugs do really weird things to us. I used to do a lot of OR work and when people wake up in recovery they explain conversations they heard... well, I was there and that topic was never discussed during surgery. It's really common.

You can eat 300gms of Protein daily and it won't make a difference. We all did extensive research and bottom line is if it is gonna fall out it is gonna fall out and it will grow back when it wants to grow back. It's from anesthesia and weight loss.
-
I sent you some. Don't know if it was Chicken broth or unflavored.

If you go to ER and they can't do it ask for a chemo nurse. If that is a problem ask for an oncologist. They do it all the time and under tricky scenarios. Find a newbie oncologist in your area, someone that doesn't have a lot of business. Some folks have used them for a back up but really, an oncology nurse *should* be able to do it.

Have you had an upper endoscopy? You can't really rule out erosion with a barium swallow. But gastritis makes sense too, it's usually quite painful. Has he started you on protonix, prilosec, or anything similar? -
No sure if this is normal...please help!

A cold will make you feel a LOT tighter! When snot drains into your stomach it is a huge irritant to your stoma. I'd stick with soft foods during this time.
