Hey Bandpal... haven't seen much of you lately but I guess you are correct, I've not been posting much. Busy in my personal life. Life is always changing and moving and sometimes I just can't keep up! ;o) How are you doing?
  4. Nope, that is not a promise that Medicare will pay. Tell belite that if they want to put it in writing that they will pay your surgery costs if Medicare denies you, you are happy to do it their way. I'll bet'cha they don't do it. They won't put something like that in writing so I'd wait for the approval from Medicare first.

Whoops... Don't go to Bavaria either for surgery. They made a mistake: >>A German retiree is taking a hospital to court after she went in for a leg operation and got a new anus instead, the Daily Telegraph is reporting. The woman woke up to find she had been mixed up with another patient suffering from incontinence who was to have surgery on her sphincter. Click hear Dr. Manny talk about medical errors. The clinic in Hochfranken, Bavaria, has since suspended the surgical team. Now the woman is planning to sue the hospital. She still needs the leg operation and is searching for another hospital to do it.<< FOXNews.com - Woman Goes for Leg Operation, Gets New Anus Instead - Health News | Current Health News | Medical News

HELP: how to make Nectar protein tasty?

I found out how to make that extra fantastic too! Da Vinci S/F chocolate syrup. It makes it what it was supposed to be to begin with! ;o) Matter of fact, I actually ordered another of those and got that one today. That's how much of a difference Da Vinci makes. I don't know what it is about the S/F syrups but it makes Protein shakes sooo good. Kills the aftertaste, changes the texture, just a huge difference.

HELP: how to make Nectar protein tasty?

Whey protein IS dairy. Have you tried soy protein? I don't have any good suggestions for you on brands as I stick to whey. However, Whey Gourmet chocolate Peanut Butter is GREAT with water and amazingly thick too. Rhariett62: Look again, if it is a shot, shooter, or bullet it has whey AND collagen. Boiled horse skin just isn't good protein. Many docs have no idea which types of protein are in which brands. I'd do some research on it. Lauren: I'm going to send you some of the Whey Gourmet Caramel when I get it. I should get it in the next week or so.

HELP: how to make Nectar protein tasty?

Very true! Those shots, shooters, and bullets are the most poor quality protein on the market. They are mostly collagen protein, the lowest of the low. Many dog food companies refuse to use such a protein. They are made from joint tissue and boiling the hair/skin of horses and cows. The protein is extracted, mixed with flavoring and waaalahhhh, you have shots, shooters, and bullets. Badddd protein... There was an FDA study done on all the people that died a few years ago from Liquid Protein diets. Something like 13 of 15 people were consuming collagen protein. Turns out, it was depleting their stores vs. adding to them. Now, these people were only consuming protein, nothing else. So Protein drinks don't kill people, consuming nothing but collage protein is risky. It's better to get a good quality protein.

I don't agree with what someone tried to do to Dr. Huacuz but I can't say I blame them either. While I don't support the behaviors that Utahband did it also isn't something Huacuz hasn't done himself. As I have written on another thread, we caught him on another board posing as his own patient that just loved him. Then he came over here with the same ID and had a different career path and a different location. What goes around comes around. There are about 3 doc's patient coordinators posting here that have more IDs than they have change of underwear. They post claiming to be a patient and in reality, they are merely drumming up business. Nothing more. They tell how great their doc is, they do just about anything to pick up business. But you know, when it comes to message boards there seems to be two alternatives. Delete everything (like some other boards do) that is the least bit bad about any doctor and people don't get the real picture, or ... leave it up and let people decide for themselves who has credibility.

So what? There are equally as bad doctors in the US. Just in the Phoenix area alone there was a plastic surgeon that killed three patients before the board finally revoked his license. There is a practicing pediatrician that is a convicted pedophile. There are many docs that have a "letter of concern" in their board file for operating while intoxicated. Want an example of just one state alone?? Check it out: Arizona Medical Board - Protecting the Public's Health Check out the board actions for the last two years. Just because it is Mexico does not mean all Mexicans are bad and they can't have a good doctor. Just because it is the US does not mean all Americans are good and we have only good docs. Quite frankly, we aren't a whole lot better than Mexico in many cases when policing doctors. Ask any OR nurse which docs she would let operate on her and she'll be able to count them on one hand. You can find 100 articles about bad care in Mexico and I can find 1000 articles about bad care in the US. Do you know that the hospital I went to in Mexico has a lower infection stat than Mayo Clinic and they have the same number of beds? They do the same procedures as well. I have worked in the US medical system for 25 years. I'm here to tell you, we aren't all you make us out to be. Medical care has its good and bad. There are good docs and bad, same with nurses and hospitals. I know of a nurse that I worked with that couldn't get her narcotic counts straight. She came up wrong each and every single time. She finally had to ask pharmacy to quit putting so much Ativan in the Pyxis because there were always 100 vials and she couldn't count that high. So they started keeping 10 vials at a time so she would quit making mistakes. Wouldn't a better option have been to put her to work in the laundry department? There was an actor on 60 Minutes Sunday that was talking about how a US nurse gave his twin babies 100x the amount of Heparin they were supposed to receive. Those vials went through three different hospital employees and not a single one noticed that the strength of the Heparin was 100x stronger than the MD orders. Three babies died, most lived including the actor's children. The pharmacy technician filled it with the wrong drug, the pharmacist checking it didn't notice, the nurse administering it didn't notice either. The children were overdosed. Just within the last two months it was discovered that two hospitals in two different locations were not cleaning their endoscopes properly and people were swapping spit and poop with one another. Now they all have to be tested for HIV and Hepatitis for the next six months. There is a plastic surgeon in AZ who had his sterilization equipment break so he was soaking them in alcohol instead of sterilizing the instruments. He didn't want to spend the money or wait for parts so he just cleaned the instruments. Alcohol does not do NEARLY what people believe it does, it does not sterilize. I can go on all day long with one example after another of the great care in the US. Shall I? People die every single day in the US due to medical mistakes. Does that mean we should tell everyone to go to India for their medical care? According to your logic, that is exactly what we should be doing.

I Like Matrix 5.0 and whey Gourmet Choco/PB. I would check out various places for price. Bariatriceating is probably the most expensive place to buy anything. Stitches, staples etc?

I got sutures that you can't see and they dissolve on their own. Makes for a much better scar, no railroad tracks.

I know exactly what you are talking about regarding leaning over the toilet. It's easier sometimes to just get it over with but honestly, it's not wise. Barfing is what can lead to slips. So be very careful. If you get uncomfortable with Protein shakes then stick to something thinner like broth, gatorade, or something similar. Once you break the barfing/swelling cycle it's all doable again and easier to manage. Good luck to you!

What does going to Tijuana have to do with anything? Are you suggesting that we don't have creepy slimy doctors in the US? We have PLENTY of them just like any other country. Since one doctor is bad that does not make the entire country bad, that's just not fair. I went to Mexico for a band and I have insurance in the US. I wanted the best opportunity to lose weight and meet my goals. My pick of surgeons was someone in Mexico. That's not fair to slam an entire country because one doctor did something stupid and unethical, we have a practicing pediatrician in AZ that is a convicted pedophile. Does that mean nobody should get medical care in the US?

    Post Revision and Possible Infection?

Pus usually looks like cottage cheese but in color. ;o) Seromas usually have a drainage that is an oil consistency such as cooking oil. What color and consistency is your drainage? If indeed it is an infection vs. a seroma you can't wait until tomorrow, you need to be seen today. If your doc can't get you in what about an ER?

    any other az bandster's?

Port flips aren't usually the docs fault, they have no control over them one way or another a majority of the time. When you lose weight your body condenses and kinda sorta makes room for the port as it shrinks. Since doctors have no control over this they can't really determine when it will happen. Most docs don't have a ton of flipped ports. However, a friend of mine was banded in the country of Jordan and she's already had a flipped port, hers happened before she even had a chance to lose much weight. It looks like a couple of sutures came undone and because of that her port just kinda moves with her. I think she may be going to Mexico to have it fixed, not sure yet. That one was probably the surgeon's fault. She was in the shower and turned and felt (and heard) a pop. Now her port is amazingly hard to get to.(

Who Should I Pick In Mexico?

Yes, I'd be interested to hear what US docs charge less for banding than $7500 or so including all pre op testing and fills for a lifetime.

    Price differences??

I didn't see that. However, you post under various IDs with a plethora of writing styles.
