Any banders from Va?? (Close to Richmond??)

May not seem like a big goal... but I don't even remember the last time I saw a 2 as the 1st number on the scale... so far lost 25lbs, 3wks post op today! started at 330 now 305, can't wait to see 299!

I eat them (not all the time lol) I have found that if the Burger is overcooked (very very well done), it gets stuck, no matter how much I chew it. I like my burgers well done, but they must be moist in order to not get stuck. Try that. Also for a less fattening Burger, try the Turkey burgers, they are fantastic. To whom posted about what papaya pills are for, its a digestive tool, they are chewable & you take 2 if anything gets stuck, they act like a grinder & help the stuck food pass thru.

No fill for me today, I have to wait til the 17th of July. The Dr didn't like the way my incision was healing & removed my scab to look at it. Its not infected but it had a tiny bit of pus underneath the scab. *sigh*

Waiting in the Dr's office for my 1st fill, the nurse said I defiantly need one, as I gained 4lbs in 2days ( I was 304 on Tuesday, & blame the weight gain on my monthly friend lol) but I'm only "down" 2lbs since 2wks ago. I've been eating the right things. Hope this doesn't hurt, & hope I don't have any problems as my Dr is leaving for vacation!

Wow, you have nothing in your band? I have 2cc, I go tomorrow for my fill & am nervous because the Dr will be out of town afterwards so the nurse suggested a very very little fill for right now. I honestly don't think I need one, but I'm going to see the difference between 2cc & whatever they put in. I don't eat unless my stomach starts growling, like this morning I didn't eat til about 20min ago. I fond if I eat smaller meals through out the day, I lose weight & don't feel hungery. Most protein bars taste like crap, but I love the Atkins bars, less then 1g of sugar & 15-17mg of protein in one bar. Walmart is the cheapest place to find them, but I know up there a Safeway or giant are the closest to u. I've lost 6lb since my 2wk post op, which h is 3lb a week.. You're doing a fabulous job losing 13! Keep up the great work!

Anyone have just straight Medicaid for their fills, my insurance for the band was anthem (through Medicaid) but my anthem lapsed the day after surgery, I'm due for my 1st fill next week & was wondering if anyone has had Medicaid approve the fills?

Well my Dr said until I was on solids to take the children's tylenol since its liquid, you being 3days out, a pill it not a good idea. I now take pills, because I'm on reg food. I slept a lot the first 4 days post op, then stopped taking the lortab. I had pain, but it wasn't unbearable. I hope you feel better. Try to drink as much as you can

How long have you had your band? I had terrible headaches a the first few days postop, then they disapeared once i started solida but i had one for the last two days from hell, thought I was going to pass out from the pain. My Dr said mine were from the all of a sudden eating much less, as well as eating extremely less sugar. Its kind of like your body is in shock. I take plain tylenol for mine, fast release kind. I had taken liquid lortab the 1st one but I can't take that stuff during the day, it knocks me out

I've thought of trashing the scale, but its not just mine, its my moms too. I keep a paper on my fridge of my weight loss, but only write it down every few days. I don't know how often I will be visiting the Dr, as my insurance may be cut (Medicaid) so I think it's best I keep it. I'm just going to try to keep off it.

So, in my past, years and years ago, I was bulimic, just in the last few years stopped, but I still have the issue of wanting to weigh myself everyday... I've tried putting the scale away, hiding it, etc... but still weigh myself everyday & it's causing me to feel down... I've lost 25lb in the last 3wks, but I still have this mentality that that's "all" I've lost, tho I know that's a great amount, it feels so little to me... anyone have any thoughts?

I had clue on my incisions, my Dr said I could shower day 2... just not to take a bath or use a washcloth on the incisions

I was told not to take large pills, but one day my head hurt so bad I had to take tylenol & I could only find the pills, I took them one at a time & they went down fine. My nurse said my birth control pill is small enough to take, so I'm sure yours will go down fine

Buy papaya enzyme chewables (found at Walmart, GNC, CVS, etc) if you ever have another stick episode, chew two of those. My nurse suggested them & they work wonderfully! About your fill, maybe your band is too tight, some people like to eat 3-4 bites and be full. I've also read on some posts on here that you'll have restriction for about a week then it will disappear & you'll want another fill. How many cc's do you have in your band?

I have certain days where I never fill full, then days where I'm hungry like 2hrs later. I usually crab a water or coffee. I've fallen in love with the vitamin water zero - lemonade flavor. Have you tried the Fruit2o water?? It comes in strawberry, grape or lemon. It has 70mg of sodium tho, unlike the vitamin water that has nothing at all. I can't stand plain water, so I've been looking for alternatives.

That's great! I have yet to put on my swimsuit, which I bought last summer while pregnant, lol so I'm sure it doesn't fit now, my jeans are so much looser, I have to keep pulling up at the waist. Ill probably go look for a new swimsuit after my first fill, woman's swimsuits are expensive, especially for plus size! Keep up the good work! Let us know how Tuesday goes!!

I usually eat two Turkey sausage patties for breakfast (730ish) then around 10 a cheese stick or Protein bar, lunch is usually chicken salad with just mustard & low fat Mayo. dinner is basically a salad. My nurse told me if I wanted to I could eat TV dinners (not every night) but that its easier to count the calories since its already calculated on the box for the total meal.

Did u have your first fill yet, can't remember the date you said.

Have u had the band, or are you thinking about it. I had Medicaid ... not the same as Medicare, I know, but I had to call & find out if they covered any part of the surgery, & what requirements I had to do before getting it approved.

Mine has half a scab still with. Some yellowish "stuff" I went last week to the Dr for my 2wk postop (banded 5/31) & he wasn't worried at all. If it gets real red & hot to the touch, make a Dr's appt ASAP.

I had a salad for dinner last night, I use the actual head of lettuce instead of bagged lettuce

I usually drink a glass 15min before my meal, usually I don't need a drink after that til 30min after I'm done. If I absolutely need one, ill take a few sips after I'm done

I have those days also. Sucks.
