When I shop for food I do not buy the foods I know that are bad for me. I highly recommend you watch the video, FAT, SICK AND NEARLY DEAD. It was in droz.com last week it still may be there.

I think Almond milk is great for Protein shakes. But I'm curious, does soy milk taste like almond milk???

When I get that crud feeling of illness coming on, i get a quart of egg drop from our local take out. It's like chicken soup but you get the chicken before its a chicken. Sounds weird I know, but it works.

1 YEAR BANDED - DOWN 78 LBS
TexasJeff replied to Rebecca Cain Salpacka's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Atta girl!!!!!! I know you had some challenges in the beginning and now you are a over achiever. Funny, I thought about you last night and tried to send you a PM but I guess there is a glitch and couldn't do it. But I think about you often. Keep the good work going. -
I've been banded for about 18 months now. I've pretty much have hit the plateau 25 pounds shy if where I want to be. I'm not freaking out or anything because I know this is the time of being banded is getting real. I have 13cc in a 14cc band. With that amount if restriction it is difficult to eat 3 meals a day a d sustain a energy level I desire. So, I've started Juicing. I've been drinking a vegetable/fruit cornucopia twice a day. And, FYI, I believe it is really working. I've lost about 5 pounds in 2 weeks and when buckling my belt, I go to the last hole.

I bought a Cuisenart from Sears $150. The research I did said that Brieville is the best and Cuisenart a very close 2nd. Basically you need to be in that $150-$200 range to get a good one that will extract the most juice. I'm not following any real recipes. My local juice bar has their drinks/ingredients on the take home menu. I've just been trying to follow what they do. You want to really want to wash the produce. When juicing, I've learned that celery will overpower just about everything. Beet juice-spinach-carrot-green apple-pear is pretty good. Yesterday I did pineapple-mango-line-green apple-pear. Now that was GOOD!!!

Sounds like we think alike. I'm doing it for the nutritional benefits and not so much for weight loss. I'm just trying to be healthier guy.

What are you stressing about??? That Diabetes will be GONE before you know it.

I quit counting everything, calories, carbs, fat. I'm drinking the equivalent of 4-5 pounds of veggies/fruit a day. Heavy in the veggies. I feel the boost in nutritional Vitamins and minerals is really helping. When I eat, it's real sensible, 1/2 chicken breast or fish fillet with a spoon or two of rice and some grilled/steamed veggies. I also drink at least a gallon of Water a day.

I too can eat whatever I like. It has been a learning experience to say the least. I make better choices when I eat, that's for sure. I go to the gym, keep a pedometer in my pocket and have become generally more active. I choose not to eat junk because I'm defeating my goals.

Suzy and Sommer, way to knock it out of the park!!!! -
Yeah, the one I got from costco has 3 different blades, 2 large cups, 2 med and 2 small and a blender pitcher. It was $50. The best part is I use it for many other things than just Protein Drinks. I grind my coffee, make smoothies, salsa. And, it's compact and fits great o. The counter.

Magic Bullet. COSTCO $50.

Thank you for your kindness. Still have a little more to go. I've gone from morbidly obese to obese and now I'm just overweight. I want to get down to normal weight. -

That happens to me. It's usually because I'm eating to fast, not chewing and eating something that is dry. I really don't think it's throwing up, it's clearing the passage to the stomach. Slow your eating down and chew chew chew.
