Weight Loss Stall Already
samsmom replied to pebbles99's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Can someone please explain what "grazing" is. My nut mentioned it on the paperwork she gave me after my appt, but never discussed it during my 8 mo. consult! Thank you:) -
The Stuff They Don't Tell You

No Regrets! I wouldn't be where I am today without the surgery  -
I had no problem with eating the wrapper. I tend to cut up my food into small pieces (yes, i even did it with my 2 sushi slices). Had more problems tryin to cut into the seaweed wrapper than eating/digesting it...lol!

I love me some sushi too! What amazes me is when I go to a sushi bar and place my 2 pc salmon roe order, the waiter/tress can't believe that is all im ordering! Before surgery, I would order one of those variety boats and eat just about every piece of sushi on it. Now, I get full off a cup of miso soup and just those 2 pieces!

How Did You Know You Were Donde Losing?
samsmom replied to Blugirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went into my stall at 4 months postop. Stayed in it for almost 12 wks...never gained a pound/never lost a pound either. I refused to even step on the scale for weeks at a time; I thought that my "losing" days were over. I came to this site to get support and info from other vsger's dealing with stalls. Im so glad this site is here! Last week, I decided to step on the scale after I noticed that some of my pants were fitting a little loose. To my surprise...I lost 4 lbs!! Hoping it continues! I have to agree with Foxbins comment, "You're not done at 4 months post-op." Best of luck in your continued journey -
My hubby wrapped black electrical tape around the underside of my ring. He wanted to take it to get resized but im frugal and don't want to keep taking it to jewelers everytime it gets too large.

The Stuff They Don't Tell You

I had a hard time drinking water without wanting to run to the toilet and barf it all back up. My nut suggested the Crystal Light which tasted like rotten eggs; My surgeon gave me a prescription for nausea. I shopped around trying different bottled waters....then I found my niche! Distilled Water in the jug! I was able to tolerate it and keep it down! I have since discovered SmartWater, which is distilled water with electrolytes (costco carries case of 1 qt bottles for $10) or Wholefoods has their 365 brand Electrolye Enhanced Water ($1 a pint). Try Distilled Water....i was amazed when it worked for me! -

Pooooor vision!!!! I was sleeved in Dec '11, and in Jan '12, i went to get my new eyeglass prescription. As the months went by, I noticed my vision getting worse and I was squinting just to see thru my glasses. Unfortunately, my insurance only pays for new glasses every 2 years so Im stuck with a pair of worthless glasses. BTW....pre-surgery, I only needed glasses just for reading...now need to wear a lot of the time! -
Feeling Depressed.... Go Back To Work !
samsmom replied to KinnymomX3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think everyone heals and tolerates their workloads differently. Had surgery on a Thursday...took the entire following week off...then went back to wk that next Monday. I too have an office job where I can sit & take it easy, but to be honest....I felt like I went back to work too soon. Pain, fatigue, etc...ugh! But that's just what happened to me. Best of luck to everyone in tolerating their workload! As with all threads on here, glad to read a variety of different stories. -
From what I read from other posts in other forums, stalls will pass. Just hang in there. Read other stall forums for more encouragement. Good Luck:)
