First Time Eating Soft Food
gaye jarvis replied to victoriatxgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know about everyone else but I'm going to be really nervous to eat real food again, I could just live off of liquids myself cause I'm 5 weeks out and I have not had any hunger pains or cravings of any kind. -
This photo was on May 31, two weeks before surgery Transformaion_AmyDownsPagelayout.pdf This picture was made today, July 22, 52 lbs gone forever!!! It has been a rough 5 weeks but when I look at myself now I just want to cry, I'm so proud I did this for myself and my loved ones.

How Do You Sleep?
gaye jarvis replied to BentleyJade's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will be 5 weeks post op tomorrow and I tried sleeping on my side after a week and a half, I turned over a little to far and popped a stitch inside by my belly button, I was in so much pain and it has taken me another 2 weeks to start feeling good again. I hate sleeping on my back but I think that is how I will be sleeping for the next six months, I'm not taking any chances! -
Well todays the first day of my new life, on my way to the hospital. I'm very nervous but I know this is the best decision that I could make for myself! I can't wait to join you guys on the losers bench!

Backed Out..so Far
gaye jarvis replied to Michelle Lynn Hamilton's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had my surgery on 6/18 and I was so scared right up to when they wheeled me into surgery, I was so scared that I would die! I think that is normal for anyone to have a fear of not waking up from surgery, but once I woke up it was on, I jumped in 100% and have done everything my dr. has told me to, and I'm down 36 lbs ( including 20 lbs post-op). I am so excited about my new life. There is not any food that I am gonna miss so much that I regret having this surgery! -
I am 12 days post op and the pain in my side is the only thing that is really getting on my nerves, I can't do anything without it pulling, so I am looking forward to the day when I will not feel it.

Hi LesKra, boy do I know just how u feel, I also had my surgery on June 18th and went back for my one week ck up yesterday, I told the dr that my calves were cramping when I walked a long way and he said he was worried that I had a blod clot! Of course I broke down in tears and was sent to the hospital to do a lower extremity Doppler scan, it was the longest 10 minutes of my life! Thank God it was negative, but it was scarey! I hope you are doing ok now and you are back on your feet soon!

How Are All The June Sleevers Doing Since Surgery?:
gaye jarvis replied to Addison's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had my surgery at the Oxford Hospital in Oxford, Ms, by Dr. King on June 18th, I am doing much better now, the first couple of days were tough, the pain was just like I thought it would be because I have had two c-sections I kinda knew what to expect. I was really swollen when I got home and I weighed more than before surgery, but that was only for a few days. The sleeping on my back in the bed is the worst, I want to sleep on my side so bad. My Dr gave me a band to wear around my stomach and that thing is a lifesaver! I am down 30 lbs since June 1st when the pre-op liquid diet started, I am very happy with my results so far, I am so excited about being normal and not being the fat lady anymore!!! -
I am one week post op and NO MAM do I feel like traveling! Everyone is different, but there is no way I would have even gotten in a car. But I bet u will do just fine, just don't let your pain meds wear off. BTW I am down 30 lbs since June 1st, that's when I started the liquid diet, my surgery was June 18th.

I got home from the hospital last night around 7, today I have been walking and sippin, the pain is unbearable if you let the pain meds wear off. My husband, who is the greatest man on earth has been taking great care of me, he's waiting on me hand and foot! I am so glad I took this step to better my life!

Frustrated With My Spouse
gaye jarvis replied to karenb4729's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm so sorry that you are not getting all of the support that you deserve, especially when you are doing something so great for yourself and making sure that you are around for your family for a long time. I wish everyone had a great husband like mine, I have been on the pre-op liquid since June 1st and have not cooked one meal! He won't even eat in the house because he's afraid that I will smell it! All I can say is Thank God! -
I'm so excited for you, I will be praying for a speedy recovery for you!
