  1. Do not get discouraged, I did the same thing and it took a couple of weeks before I started really losing any weight. I am now 7 weeks post op and just today hit 60 lbs lost! Just concentrate on getting your liquids in and walk as much as you can, I promise the weight will start falling off! Remember we didn't gain all this weight in a couple of weeks and we sure ain't gonna lose it in a couple either.
  2. Momma melly don't be scared, you can do this, you are stronger than you think! The best advice I can give you is to walk as soon as they tell you to and sip your liquids even if you are not thirsty, you do not want to get dehydrated!

I'm 6 weeks out today and I am down 56 lbs, and I feel wonderful! Just take a deep breath and say to yourself, "I'm doing this for me"! We will all save you a seat on the losers bench!

The Top 5 Things You Will Not Miss After Vsg

    1. I will not miss going to the waterpark for our annual family vacation and all I can do is float in the pool, no rides cause I'm so heavy. 2. I will not miss not being able to cross my legs for the last 25 years. 3. I will not miss the rashes under all the skin or the stretch marks that keep breaking open at the bottom of my stomach. 4. I will not miss telling my husband that I can't ride the 4-wheeler with him cause I'm to heavy. 5. And the most important thing I will not miss is telling my husband I don't feel like having sex because after 32 years of marriage I was so ashamed for him to touch me, but let me tell you that has changed after only 56 lbs, he says he feels like he's having an affair!

    Not Alone, Or Am I

Hi Grammy, let me tell you I know just how you feel, I'm 47 and I have been overweight all my life, with 4 sisters who are all slim and trim which only made it worse, I kept gaining weight until I was at 334 lbs, and even at 5'11" it still was unbelievable just how big I had let myself get. My knees hurt so bad every day, I was put on blood pressure meds and heart meds, my feet swelled every day, my back pain was constant, I couldnt even get a good nights sleep cause i kept wakeing myself up cause i couldnt breathe! I hated how I looked! Fast forward to 5 weeks ago when I was sleeved, no more swelling or pain anywhere! I'm off of all meds already and I'm down 52 lbs, I have finally slept all night the last week or so, this is the best decision I have ever made for my health!

    Main Incision Pain

I'm 5 weeks out and I had the same pain, but now it's just a little sore and it gets better every day. I even still use a cane to help me get out of the bed so I don't strain my stomach, I just push myself up with my arms and boy does it make a difference! I have had 2 C-Sections and I think this pain was way worse then either one of those ever were!

  20. Welcome to the family! You will love this site, everyone is so helpful and no question is ever stupid, so ask away! I'm so excited for you, I remember sitting in my first seminar and talking to a lady that just had her 2 yr anniversary of her surgery and she had lost 200 lbs, man I wanted my surgery that day! I had my first consult 1week later and my surgery 2 weeks after that, I was a cash patient and you don't have to jump thru as many hoops as you do with insurance. I'm now 5 weeks post-op and I'm down 52 lbs, best decision ever!

    Sex After Weight Is Gone?

When you weigh 334 lbs sex is not fun, it is a job and one that would wear me out! I am looking forward to making up for lost time with my wonderful husband, he has stuck by me when I didn't want him to touch me because I was embarrassed of how big I was, I have told him that I hope I wear him out wanting sex more now and he said "Honey, you just go right ahead and try".
