Damned If I Do Damned If I Don't.
gaye jarvis replied to Imjustmee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Man you are lucky you can still tolerate sugar, I'm 3 months post op and anything with even a tiny amount of sugar in it makes me sick! This would not be so bad except I was one of those people obsessed with any kind of dessert, I would rather have it than my meal, but boy o boy have the tables turned on me! -

gaye jarvis replied to GeauxForIt's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't feel bad for wanting to unzip and step out of the old body into the new, I am 3 months post op and I'm down 72 lbs, I started my journey at 334 lbs and am now 262 and I still tell my husband at least 5 times a day that I just want to wake up tomorrow and weigh 175 lbs and be done with all of this mess! In case you haven't guessed, I have no patience -

Anyone Not Have An Issue With Hair Loss?
gaye jarvis replied to Raven21's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 3 months post op and I have had no loss yet ( I hope I never do), I take 5000 mcg of Biotin a day with my vitamins and I also use Bosley shampoo for color treated thinning hair ( started using it a couple of weeks before my surgery). I'm keeping my fingers crossed! In the long run I would rather be thin and bald than fat and hairy! -

5 Days Post Op Side Feels Like I've Been Run Over By A Truck And It Hurts When I Breathe!
gaye jarvis replied to grayeybeauty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on June 18, 2012 , I was one of the people that like y'all had a lot of pain, it made me mad to read about these people that went shopping and walked for hours, NOT ME! It took me almost 5 weeks before I even felt like getting out of the house, I just felt like crap every day. The moment I finally knew I was going to be ok was almost 5 weeks out when I was in the shower and I shaved my own legs, I was crying when I got out of the shower and my grown daughter who is an RN thought something was wrong and I said nothing's wrong I'm just so happy to be feeling normal again! Fast forward to 3 months post op and I'm down 72 lbs and heck yes it was worth every stinkin pain I had to endure! Hang in there cause I promise "This to shall pass"! -
I used to think the same way, this is how God made me, but I think he wants me to live my life rather than just exist, because 3 months ago when I weighed 334 lbs I was not living, now 72 lbs lighter I now can participate in life! There is no doubt in my mind that had I not been sleeved I would have died young!

Had my surgery in Oxford, Ms, on June 18, 2012, I weighed 334 lbs, I am amazed at how great this has worked, I thought for sure I would be the one person that this surgery did not work on! I stepped on the scale this morning and BAM 264 lbs! I am loving my sleeve, the only thing I love more is the look in my husbands eyes when he looks at me now, I catch him looking at me all the time! New Pics 70 Lbs Gone!
gaye jarvis replied to gaye jarvis's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Hey TaniaB, sorry don't have a my fitness pal. I eat a ton of chicken, I love cottage cheese, cheese sticks, deli shaved turkey. Before surgery I was a total dessert freak, I would rather have eaten sweets than food, but as fate would have it since surgery if I put anything with even a small amount of sugar in my mouth I get SICK, so there goes my sweet tooth! I have become a gym rat, I go every day but Sunday, I do 30 to 45 min on the elliptical machine, weights for toning and I swim laps to try to get rid of my bat wings. You can do it to, just stick with it, it will come off, I promise! -

New Pics 70 Lbs Gone!
gaye jarvis replied to gaye jarvis's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Thanks everyone for all the great words of encouragement, the only advice I can give you is to do exactly what your Dr says, I have not put one thing in my mouth that I was not told to eat, I went thru 2 months of crap to get where I am now and I'm sure not going to screw things up by eating junk cause that's the reason i had to have wls to start with. -

I was sleeved on June 18, 2012 and I'm down 67 lbs. I'm 47 yrs old, have been married to the most wonderful man for 32 amazing years ( he took me to Hawaii two years ago and renewed our vows on the most beautiful beach in the world, barefoot and all, just because that has always been my dream, he made it come true!) I have 3 wonderful kids, the last of which just graduated from college, whoop whoop! I have 5 beautiful grandchildren and I know without a doubt if I had not had this surgery I was not going to last very long, my quality of life was horrible! Thank God for the sleeve, it saved my life!!!!

When Will I Stop Regretting Having This Done?
gaye jarvis replied to TiredOfChubRub's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OMG don't ever say you regret doing this, you just have to give your body time to heal and as soon as you start eating real food again you won't be so tired all the time. I felt the same way for about 5 weeks, I even cried a couple of times, but I promise you it gets better! I am 11 weeks out and down 66 lbs and this is without a doubt the best thing I have ever done for myself! Just give it some time and you will feel the same way. I'm cheering you on, can't you hear me!!!!!!!!! -
If You Had The Choice - Would You Do It Again?
gaye jarvis replied to Babysteppin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery 2 months ago and I have lost 62 lbs, and even with the pain from surgery and a stitch I popped inside by my belly button which was very painfull, I would still do it over again!!!! I am 47 and I was not living, I was in so much pain every day from carrying around 334 lbs, had sleep apneia, had heart problems, was on blood pressure meds, and my legs and ankles swelled every day, I was miserable!! This surgery gave me my life back, I have my sex drive back and it has been gone for a long time, I have been married for 32 years and would not let my husband touch me because I was so ashamed of what I had done to myself. You have to make the decision for yourself but I can say 100% it was worth every penny I paid for this surgery (my insurance did not pay a dime on anything!) -
40 Hours Before Surgery And I Am Getting Cold Feet! Help!
gaye jarvis replied to TiredOfChubRub's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do not back out! This will be the best decision you could ever make for yourself. And as for starving, I am 7 weeks post-op and have never had the first hunger pain, not one single craving for anything and the smell of food doesn't bother me at all! I am so happy with my sleeve! I lost 20 lbs pre-op and 40 post-op! Remember there is no food that tastes as good as being thin feels!!!!
