Scared......i Don't Want To Leave My Kids Without A Mom!
gaye jarvis replied to Amberl77's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Amber177, this is just my opinion but don't over think it, if this is a decision you make for your health and for your children, then just trust your decision. If you sit and think about it to much it will drive you crazy and you will consider canceling the surgery, please don't do that! This surgery is awesome, it saved my life, I was sleeved on June 18, 2012 and I'm down 75 lbs already. You are a smart strong woman and you are going to make it thru this! -
I Hate My Pre-Op Diet!
gaye jarvis replied to NDN_RN's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You guys can do it! I had to do 14 days of liquid, and I will dry heave if I even smell a protein shake now! But boy was it so worth it, I was sleeved on June 18, 2012 and I'm already down 75 lbs, so keep it up cause you will be so proud of yourself! -
My niece died last year of a massive heart attack on her 40th birthday, and I was just as big or bigger than she was, so that event made the decision for me, you know that there is a chance of death with any surgery but the way I was going there was 100% chance that it was going to be sooner than later! This is the best decision I have ever made for my health, not one ounce of regret!

Im New Just Got The Sleeve On9/4/12
gaye jarvis replied to BarbsTrying's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Don't worry so much, it's amazing how the sleeve works, you will lose, I promise. All you have to do is follow everything the Dr says, only eat what he says to eat and exercise all you can and the weight will start falling off! I started on June 18 at 334 lbs when I had my sleeve done, and today I'm at 259 lbs, that's 75 lbs! I go to the gym 5 or 6 days a week, I do 30 to 45 min of cardio, weights for my arms and legs and I swim laps every other day. So you can breath easy knowing if you do your part the sleeve will do its part. -

What Changed After Your Weight Loss Surgery Relationships, Friendships, confidence, Etc
gaye jarvis replied to sexy_sleevegirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have had nothing but positive reactions, everyone is amazed at how fast this surgery works. The biggest thing that changed in my life is I can't get enough loving from my husband of 32 years, before I lost 75 lbs in 3 months with this surgery I would not hardly let him touch me because I was so ashamed of how big I had let myself get, but boy oh boy now it's a different story, and we are both enjoying the benefits of WLS! -
Well here is my story, I'm sitting here in my living room thinking how good I feel, I just got home from my daily trip to the gym, yes I'm sweaty and tired but 3 months ago I could barely walk to the bathroom without being out of breath, I had high blood pressure, heart problems, back problems, swollen legs and ankles, headaches every day, I was in MISERY! I started this journey at 334 lbs and today I weight 259 lbs, that's 75 lbs gone forever! This is the best decision I could have ever made for myself and I would do it over again in a heartbeat! My husband has been telling everyone that he feels like he's having an affair because my whole body has changed. Here are some pics of before and 75 lbs down, I still have 80 more to go.

Does The Sweating Stop?
gaye jarvis replied to Paigers's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was the person that sweated all year long, my husband and I fought every day over the air conditioner in the car, in the house, in our Sunday school class, etc. my hair was always wet, no matter what the temp was outside, I live in Mississippi and you know we invented humidity! I am now 3 months post op and I'm down 73 lbs and I have been freezing from about one week after my surgery. I now sit around my house in sweat pants, fuzzy slippers, long sleeved shirt with a hoodie over it and a blanket on my legs! My family still can't believe it's really me doing that cause they have only seen me sweat and complain about the heat forever. I love it! I will take being cold any day over sweating like a dog! -
