Sassypants do I know the feeling! My family was always freezing because I always had the air conditioner on about 65 even in the winter sometimes, i would not even turn the heat on because it would make me sick! Boy o boy how the tables have turned, the heat is on and I am sleeping in fleece pjs with socks and an electric blanket, I honestly don't know how I am going to make it thru the winter, and I'm only in Mississippi! I have lost 88 lbs so far with 69 more to go till I get to my goal weight and I am miserable with the cold, but I can always put on enough to get warm, when I was 334 lbs before I couldn't take off enough to get cool, thank goodness!

So far size 16 jeans, lg to xl shirts, 42c bra, 11m shoes (I had to give away all my dress shoes, cause they will no longer stay on my feet!)

Just A Week Out And Starting To Get Really Down
gaye jarvis replied to KLNorrod's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I promise it gets better. I remember crying at a couple weeks out thinking what the heck have I done to myself, but I'm now 4 months out and 88 lbs lost! Believe me when I tell you everything you are going thru is gonna be so worth it! Just take it a day at a time. You can do this! -
I was sleeved 4 months ago and all the motivation I needed was when my Dr said the liquid diet was to shrink my liver so it was out of the way during the surgery, because if he nicked my liver it would bleed like a son of a gun and cause problems. The thought of more surgery or more pain worked for me, I lost 20 lbs on my 2 week pre op diet.

OMG what a beautiful girl! Keep up the great work! -
Have faith in your surgeon and their team, they know what they are doing. Just relax and know that you made a decision that will keep you around for a lot of years! I will be praying for you! I'm 4 months out so I've been there and it's ok to be nervous, please let us know how you are doing after surgery! God Bless you and good luck!

Your husband needs to talk to my husband, I had this surgery because of so many health problems and the shear fact that I felt like crap every darn day, now that I have lost 87 lbs my husband is like a kid with a new toy, he says he feels like he's having an affair every day!

Asked For About 65 - 70% Removal Rather Then Standard 80 To 85 Percent
gaye jarvis replied to Bryan Whitson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was self pay so I wanted to make sure mine was small enough that I never had to worry about going through a surgery like this again! I agree with the other poster, maybe you are not mentally ready to give up on eating so much. Let me tell you, once the weight starts falling off you will not miss all the food you used to consume at one sitting! I'm 4 months out and 87 lbs down so I kinda know what I'm saying is true. -
Welcome to the club! Hope your recovery is quick and your feeling better soon so you can get started on your new life!

Way to go Donny! It sounds like you got this thing licked! I'm with you on the sweet drinks, I am 4 months out and I can't eat or drink anything with sugar in it, it makes me sick, but I guess that is to my advantage, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to lose 87 lbs!

High Bmi Success Stories?
gaye jarvis replied to AmandaRaeLeo's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I started this journey with a BMI of 49, but I did not have my surgery in Mx, I had mine in Oxford, Ms. I did not have any problems (except for popping a stitch by turning over in the bed to far) I'm down 87 lbs in 4 months! -

This is a serious surgery, I do not think it should be done outpatient! Stay your one night in the hospital, at least it will give you peace of mind. -
