I to was almost 350 lbs to start with, had problems walking, knees hurt, feet swollen, back problems, heart trouble, high blood pressure, I was in a mess! I to thought I would be the one person that this surgery wouldn't work for, boy was I wrong, 4 1/2 months out and I'm down 90 lbs! You can do this! -

Passport Woes

We just went on a cruise, the rule says that if your ship departs and returns to the same US port, that you do not need one, however if you are in another country and someone in your party has an accident, you will not be able to stay with them, you will be required to go back to the ship (IMO, I would have one, we do so that we will never have to deal with that situation) -
Hi Lisa, you are doing great! I am down 90 lbs in 4 1/2 months! I still can't believe it myself! You will lose the weight, don't worry so much about how long it takes. Good luck!

I have lost 90 lbs in 4 1/2 months, so it can be done. I am faithfully going to the gym and only eating what I'm supposed to, I read so many posts on this site where people are eating chips, candy, ice cream, brownies and so on, but I did not go thru this surgery to be able to eat all that crap that got me to almost 350 lbs! I love my sleeve!

Introduction Hey There
gaye jarvis replied to Mrsdawsondn's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi, my name is Gaye. I have been overweight all my life, I have 4 sisters that are all skinny and have never had a weight problem! I was always depressed, didn't want to go out much, but when u weigh 334 lbs there is not many places to go and feel comfortable. I knew that I had to do something about my weight, so I dieted and lost 30 and gained 40, lost 50 and gained 75 and so on and so on! Then in August of 2011 my husbands niece died of a massive heart attack on her 40th birthday! It scared me so bad cause I was way bigger than she was and I was 46 yrs old. So I started looking into WLS, we had a lady who attended a meeting at our church and I didn't know her, or I thought I didn't, I knew her before she lost almost 100 lbs and it was just like The Lord hit me over the head and said "here's your way out". Fast forward to June 18, 2012, I went into surgery weighing 314 lbs (334 before starting pre op diet) and its been downhill from there, 4 1/2 months post op and I'm down 90 lbs as of this morning! I almost wanna cry every day at my reflection in the mirror, I'm so amazed at how the sleeve works! -
To Those That Are Post-Op...2 Questions From An "undecided"
gaye jarvis replied to GirlOnFire's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If I could talk to myself pre op I would have said "why the crap didn't you do this 20 yrs ago" Heck no! No regrets! There is nothing that has happened to me since surgery that outweighs the fact that I have lost 90 lbs in 4 1/2 months! Whoop Whoop!!!! Best darn decision ever! -

This is so funny, but true! I would have to sit up straight so the band of my bra would not be on the three small insicions. -

What an awesome feeling (same thing for me in Lane Bryant, now wearing the smallest size they carry, when I used to wear the biggest!) keep up the good work! There's no food that tastes as good as that feeling you had when you put that coat on! -
Thanks Nina, you are going to have the same results, I know you are! Just stick with it and remember what the end result is going to be! It is so worth it!

How Many Incisions Do You Have?
gaye jarvis replied to fgotr121's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have 7 -
Yes this surgery has a danger of complications, but at the weight I was 4 1/2 months ago I had a 100% chance of dying from heart problems (I was on meds for my heart, which I no longer take), or a stroke from high blood pressure ( also no longer on meds for this, stopped these 4 days after surgery), so the risks were worth it for me to get my health back since I'm only 47 and I was so tired of only being able to stay in the house and watch tv and eat myself to death! This surgery saved my life!
-
My surgeon took pics during the entire procedure and gave me a copy, he said I had the biggest stomach that he had seen in all the surgerys he has done (he has done over 2500 so far), leave it to me to break a record!

7 Months Out! 124 Lbs Lighter!
gaye jarvis replied to cassieh's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
What a difference! You look so much younger, and happier! Way to go girl! -
I am 4 1/2 months out and all the Bariatric Advantage chewable or capsules I have tried made me throw up, so i found the Wellesse liquid at wal mart and tried them, it tastes like a shot of really strong concentrated orange juice. I have been taking them for about two months now and I haven't had any problems with nausea at all! I highly recommend them.
-
I have been taking the Wellesse liquid Vitamins for months now with no problem, before that I was trying two different kinds from Bariatric Advantage but kept throwing them up.

Nina I was sleeved on June 18, 2012, and as of today I'm down 88 lbs! I still can't believe it when I say it but a picture is worth a thousand words! This pic is from feb this year 340 lbs! This pic is from May this year 334 lbs! This pic was sept 259 lbs, 75 lbs lost!

I had my surgery 4 1/2 months ago and my incisions were very high up so I couldn't wear any other bra but the genie bra from wal mart, it was a wonderful feeling on the incisions and it didn't hurt.
