100 lbs lost in 6 months with pics
gaye jarvis replied to gaye jarvis's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks, I am a happier person -

I am 6 months out from my sleeve and down 102 lbs, when I first came home I could only tolerate room temp liquids, so we bought those 8 oz bottles of water and kept them right by my recliner, it was a mind thing but I could drink several of those but could not get down those big bottles. Good luck, just keep trying till you find what works for you.

Paying Out of Pocket
gaye jarvis replied to KhadijahRose's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to pay cash for my surgery that I had 6 months ago, it has been worth the $13,900.00 I spent to be down 102 lbs today! I had mine in Oxford, Mississippi with Dr. King. -

I do 30 min of cardio on the elliptical machine 6 days a week and alternate my workouts on the weight machines, legs one day and arms the next, and I swim laps every time I'm at the gym (trying to get rid of these ugly bat wings) lol -

Just keep getting your liquids in and eating your protien, the weight will come off I promise! Have you joined a gym or do you workout several times a week? I can only speak for what's working for me, I was sleeved on June 18 and I'm down 100 lbs this week, and I know it's my workout plan that's doing it, along with drinking my liquids and eating protien. If its motivation that u need, check out my before pic and the pic from this week, this should motivate anyone! Keep up the good work and don't get discouraged, we r here to help each other! Before, May 334.9 lbs May 345 lbs Dec 11, 234 lbs Dec 11, 234 lbs -

I was sleeved on June 18, 2012, and as of today I'm down 100 lbs! I still can't believe it's me in the mirror! My favorite benefit of this surgery is that my husband can't keep his hands off of me! I am so grateful that I had this surgery, and would do it again in a heartbeat! The first 2 pics are today, Dec 12, 234 lbs, the last 3 are from Feb & May 2012, 334.9 lbs. I still have 57 lbs till I get to goal, and I have no doubt that I will make it! -

The Five Biggist Changes Since My Surgery Are.......
gaye jarvis replied to mendymayhem's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First and foremost is I'm off all of the meds I used to take daily for BP and heart related problems! I feel amazing, just like a new person, after losing 100 lbs I don't hurt everywhere anymore everyday! I love shopping for new clothes now that I can wear regular people clothes I don't stand in the back to hide in photos anymore Sex with my lovely husband of 32 years is freakin amazing now, it is so worth all the crap I went through having this surgery! Thanks honey for sticking by me for 32 fat years, I hope you will have enough strength to make it for the next 32! I love you more! -

I want to really take time to stop and enjoy what Christmas is really about, and say thank you God for giving me the strength to make it through these last 6 months since being sleeved! And say goodbye to the 100 lbs that I have lost! I really thought the holidays would have been harder than it has been, I have no desire to eat all the junk that other people are eating, and no appetite really at all, no cravings and no hunger, thank you Dr. King! -

I had my surgery 6 months ago and I remember waiting in pre-op and being so scared that I felt sick, I'm so glad I went thru with it cause as of today I'm down 100 lbs! I can't explain to you just how much this surgery has changed my life, the best thing is I'm no longer hungry all the time and I don't dream about food all day, thank you Lord! -

It has been fairly easy for me to lose, I have just followed everything my dr said to do and I can't eat any sugar anyway cause it makes me sick now. As for lose skin, my stomach and my breasts are pretty bad, nothing that a good bra and spanx can't help, when I'm done losing I will have some new boobies tho! -

I don't really have a secret, I just do exactly what my Dr says, only eat what I'm supposed to (absolutely no sugar anymore, it makes me sick), and I workout at the gym at least 5 days a week. -

Looking good Sannah! You are doing a great job, and it will all be worth it! -
All I can say is when u lose 98 lbs (in 5 1/2 months) it sure makes it easier to move around, which is good when u have been married for 32 years and are acting like two hormonal teenagers! But boy it's great!!!

I Want To Scream And Have A Tantrum...
gaye jarvis replied to LadyK's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
For me, my husband really got concerned about his weight when I started to really drop mine quick, now at 5 months out and only a couple of lbs from losing 100 lbs he is conscious of what he eats and has lost 30 lbs on his own. You can't make that decision for him, but believe me he will be aware of his weight when you start getting compliments! Hang in there!
