Has anyone tried a fresh Starbucks refresher? I'm wondering if it has carbonation?

Hi everyone! Has anyone experimented with juicing?
-
I've been juicing the past week. To clarify, I am not supplementing meals with juice. I've been drinking juice in the mornings, in addition to my protein shake. I find them so refreshing! I love playing with different combinations, my favorite includes kale, cilantro, cucumber, ginger, celery, and an apple. I haven't had celery and apples in so long, it's so good! I also eat my meals at lunch and dinner to include salads or other cooked veggies.

How AWFUL are these protein shakes?!

Surgery was yesterday at 10:45. I was home by 2:00! Recovery is NOTHING like the lap band recovery! Gas pain is gone, although it was terrible in the recovery room and I was able to eat normal foods last night. Still taking pain medicine and waiting to feel normal again. I'm glad it was so easy!

Textbook symptoms are pain in the right upper quadrant, back, bloating, etc. My attack consisted of abdominal pain in my lower abdomen rated 10/10! I thought I was going to die! Upon palpating, there was significant rebound tenderness in my right upper quadrant (which is also textbook for cholelithiasis). I haven't had an attack since that night. The attacks are caused by a stone becoming dislodged and getting stuck in the common bile duct entering the lower intestine. I do notice I have nausea, bloating, and gas with higher fat foods. Not sure if surgery will resolve that or not...

I'm scheduled to have my gallbladder removed on January 8, 2013. I was banded on June 8, 2012. I'm 55# down. Nervous about surgery! Didn't get an unfill. Is the recovery similar? Is the gas pain worse? At least we don't have liquid diets to abide by for weeks! Did you have a gallbladder attack?

I love beans and cheese on mushy stage!
-
We're having it for dinner tonight! Cook with leeks, add a little cream (substitute half and half). I use a Braun hand mixer. Through a little nutmeg. Yummy!

I think this is normal. I had a fill last Tuesday and yesterday was the first time I could eat more than one or two bites without a BP. It does get better. Remember to eat and drink slow, stick with liquids if you have to and get your protein in!

I'm right there with you. My surgery was June 8. Started at 237 and was down to 204 last week. Only had one fill in August. This last month, I was gaining and losing the same 5 pounds. I didn't feel much restriction and noticed intake drastically increased. Went to the dr last Tuesday weighing 207 and holy cow! I had NO idea what restriction was till now. Today's my best day. Just remembering to get back to basics with liquids, mushies, and Protein, protein, protein. This morning I'm at 200! Have you noticed your hair starting to fall out? I'm taking collagen and MVI and sometimes good about Calcium supplements. Why is the calcium recommended? Good luck!!

Lovenox Injections
mountainnurse replied to AngelaLou99's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sure your doctor order the lovenox as a precautionary measure to avoid blood clots. Not every doctor does this but that's okay. Prevention is important . The bruises from the injection are very normal and will take time to dissipate. Good luck and congrats on your mushy stage! -
Everything seems fine. But that was scary!!

I just swallowed an unchewed piece of gum!! Am I going to be okay?!?!?!
-
Thanks guys! If I have pain, I'll call my doctor. I don't think I'm supposed to chew it either. I didn't know it puts air in the pouch. Lesson learned☺

Two Months Later, Still No Fill
mountainnurse replied to MemphisFan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wow. I think 20lbs in 8 weeks is pretty darn good I was banded June 8. I've lost 25. I've had one fill. I thought I was doing good?! -
Check with your doctor instructions. Whole wheat crackers were on my mushie stage. I waited until near the end to try them though. I LOVED LF refried beans and cheese!
