  1. Glad to hear things are getting better. My routine was: rest, pain meds, gas-x, walk multiple times throughout the day.

Hi Lindsey, I hope each day is getting better for you. Are you getting enough protein? Are you on full or clear liquids? I would be mad at my husband if he ate fast food in front of me. I miss French fries! Didn't you say your brother had the surgery? How can he eat fast food? I've talked with my husband and he knows he can eat whatever he wants when he's not around me. Thankfully he's been supportive. Now that I'm on mushies, he's eating the same thing as me. He hopes to loose weight too by practicing the principles of eating slower and portion control!

    Morning Nausea

I think hot tea or coffee is supposed to help. I've read this, and the feeling of fullness or tighteness, in the morning is common. Warm fluids might help. Good luck on your first day of work! I go back tomorrow and am worried!

    What Were Your Favorite Mushies?

Cream of wheat with added protein powder was awesome this morning! I'm on day two of mushy and have really enjoyed eggs (salad or scrambled). Tonight is broiled tilapia and creamed spinach. Yum! Refried beans with an ounce of low fat shredded cheese sounds great too!

You can do this! Stay strong and make sure you're getting in all that protein to curb hunger!! Sending healing thoughts your way ...
  10. Carolinagirl, how are you doing?
  11. Day three was my hardest. It does get better! Hang in there. You've made the right choice!
  12. I found ice better for the abdominal pain, so a large ice pack. Milk of magnesia, sugar free Popsicles, high protein drinks (I really enjoy the zero carb isopure fruit flavored drinks). Liquid multivitamin, V-8 juice, gatorad, creamed soups, and LOTS of support! Walking is critical to gas pain/relief but adequate rest is also essential. Hope you're doing well!

2 Days Post Opp And In Pain

Oops, autocorrect! My surgery was June 8.

2 Days Post Opp And In Pain

Oh, I understand your buyers remorse! I still have some remorse (surgery was June 8). It will get easier, I promise! My second full day post op was the hardest. However, I could not have recovered without pain meds! Can you explain to your doctor that your pain levels are high? I'm a firm believer in adequate pain control so your body has energy to heal the surgery, not the pain. Good luck - it will get better!

    Full Liquid Diet Hunger

I had one scrambled egg and chewed very well taking thirty minutes to eat. I was scared I wouldn't tolerate it but slow was key! Oh, and Delaney, I thought my stomach was growling with hunger pains too but I think it's still some gas. I have a feeling that this hunger may have to be something we get used to!

    Full Liquid Diet Hunger

I've started to become hungry too. The protein is key. On my clear diet, I drank the clear, fruit flavored Isopure Zero Carb. I still find this refreshing; drinking a bottle a day. Each bottle has 40gm protein! I'm on full liquids, ready to progress to mushies in a day. I was able to introduce eggs yesterday and I couldn't even finish one!

    Full Liquid Suggestions?

Anyone have suggestions for full liquids? I'm 'eating' creamed soups, protein shakes, yogurt, sugar-free pudding, milk and the clear liquids. I'm doing well but fear I will get bored over the next few days. Anyone have some good recipes?

    Officially Banded

Hi everyone and Sombra1718. I was banded last Friday and YES; my throat hurts!! I have asthma and reactive lung disease so my oxygen levels really desaturated during surgery. sugar free Popsicles and pain meds have helped. I'm now alternating OTC meds with the narcotics. Sorry to ask such a personal question but have you guys had a bowel movement yet? With only liquids for a week, I'm not sure what to expect. Also, I started the Calcium chews and those are a huge treat! Yesterday was the first day I started to feel hungry. The full liquids and high Protein have satiated my appetite. Each day is better and better!!
