No -One Responds!
NuStartInTx replied to steelergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Stay in the hospital if your insurance covers it. As for the one week, I was physically ok to return to work (desk job) but took an extra week just because I had it and to get my head around the food (measuring, timing, walking, sip, sip, sip), as long as you don't overdo it and get too tired, you should be ok. But everyone is different so listen to your body and your doctor. Good luck! -

July Sleevers---How Much Have You Lost?
NuStartInTx replied to polican's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
July 15th, lost 54lbs so far but in a stall right now - lost nothing this past week. BUT off my blood pressure meds and sleeping sooo much better (hooray!). 100 more lbs to go :-( -
Being treated for sleep apnea made me a new person, I feel like I was in a tired headachy haze and now I am rested and alert. Being on CPAP treatment even reduced my edema in my legs. CPAP plus surgery and now I feel amazing. Be glad they found it and give yourself a well deserved nights rest :-)

I had mine July 16th as well, got taken off my BP meds and have a sleep test scheduled for Nov - hopefully off CPAP soon too! Congratulations to you, keep up the good work :-)

Food Intake Has Increased!
NuStartInTx replied to Darlene's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I noticed a slight increase too, and I'll be seven weeks out next Monday. The funny thing is Today I thought "oh my gosh I pigged out!" - because I was so full - and then I looked at my friends plate and that put things into perspective for me. I'm actually only eating a few bites more than I was lol. It also depends on what I'm eating. I can eat a bit more of soft beans or soup Than say chicken, fish or beef. -
Hated all flavors but drank them religiously first two weeks as per my doctors orders. Second week I cut them with crystal light...MUCH better. They're too expensive for me for day to day. A little over $5 a piece at GNC although I haven't shopped around and they may be cheaper elsewhere....

Chike (28 grams protein) which I mix with Lactose free high protein milk (another 12 grams protein). Love all the flavors! -

I didn't like any of them, but I just kept telling myself, it's just for one week - you can do this :-) and as mentioned before you can cut it with crystal light or G2 even... -

I got the isopure at GNC...none of them taste great but the orange was the easiest to tolerate - I had to do one, 1oz sip every ten minutes. Tastes like Gatorade with absolutely no sweetener. I had my sleeve on July 15th, I'm on mushies and two weeks from solid foods. Double check with your Dr on the isopure as all Dr.s differ. Hope you feel better soon. Sip, sip, sip! -

New Sleever :) Introduction To Me..
NuStartInTx replied to Christhee VSG's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi and welcome! I was weak and lightheaded too and it eas because I was dehydrated. I increased my fluids but my dr. Had me doing a clear protein (isopure) and that helped....but as always -
Unexpected Trip... Can't Take Shakes W/me. Need Help!
NuStartInTx replied to Geechee Girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I travel a lot for work overseas. I will usually pack a few pre mixed shakes in my suitcase that I check (in case I have trouble with reliable water or milk which has only happened once or twice), and then I pre measure protein powder into snack size zip lock baggies (2 scoops each) and put those baggies in my shaker bottle, my purse and my suitcase - just to be safe in case my suitcase goes missing :-) -
I love theirs and it's like 20 grams
-
I LOVE the Chike too, the banana is awesome :-)

I love he Chike protein powder (28 grams in 2 scoops), the banana is awesome and I don't even like bananas. I mix it with one cup of fat free high protein milk, equals 40 grams total. -

Spring too, good luck!

I'm in the same area but used Dr Collier in Conroe. He was awesome. I'd love to find a support group in our area that goes out and does things since I'm getting antsy (not spending my time eating) and I know my family is getting tired of my play by play food commentaries lol

Spleen Complication?
NuStartInTx replied to RawrrAshleex3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My spleen was "glued" to my stomach and the Dr had to separate them before he could cut the stomach. No additional complications just a lot of Bach pain for awhile.... -

That's great! I can't wait....I hate going to lunch with co workers or friends and they give each other the "who's going to get stuck sitting on the side with the fat lady" look.
