Let's say a pa has worked under a Dr for several years assisting with 2000 surgeries and has even done 500 of these surgeries on her own now how confident might you be to allow her to be hour Dr and perform this surgery even with main Dr being there in case an issue arises? Everybody has to learn their jobs and be left alone eventually, right?

Due to one of the referrals from Dr, I applied for financial assistance through medicalfinancing.com, and waiting for response early this week....but I am very nervous and concerned as I've read some not so good reviews about them in last couple hours! They already charged me to apply, $14.00. I haven't seen this before only when applying to apartments, not loans...I hope this ends up being a blessing to me, and not something else! If anyone has dealt with these people I sure would appreciate any and all of your inputs.

Ok, so Hosea (sp) didn't call as he said at time he was to call. I gave this company the benifit of a doubt and they are not holding up in the light very well. No surprise, and out of caution I cancelled my card so no more funds can be taken from my acct. Back to the drawing board I go! I'm a believer that everything happens for a reason, but sometimes those reasons aren't made clear to us, this is one of those times! Lol! Thanks for reading and posting responses!

Thanks AmandaRaeLeo and Mexico for information. I finally reached caseworker Hosea (sp) after I was told that I was approved and he informed me that I was, but only for US not Mexico. He said he'll check with another bank they do business with that has done loans for out of country and get back with me tomorrow. He seemed pleasant and curteous, so we'll see. Not agreeing to anything till I have all details in writing first. And Mexico I'm really sorry your experience with them turned out not so good. Did you find someone to loan you the funds eventually? I will be cautious in dealing with them.

Good news approved...YEA!!!...Bad news they didn't tell me terms or amount just that I was approved...BOO!!! Still worried about this company, and praying it doesn't end in a nightmare, but giving them a chance seeings how I've only read a few bad reviews, kind of like the different views of which doctor recommended on this site. Still would appreciate input from others on this company if you've heard or had any dealings with them. If not prayers are welcomed! Thanks

Crystalintville and SweetTee thank you! Crystalintville you were only gone a matter of 5 days and out of work 6 days? What line of work are you in, and were you exhausted durring work for first few weeks? Also who was your surgeon of choice? I find it incredible how quickly everything went for you, and I hope it goes just as smoothly for me. Oh yeah did you have a passport? -
Is anyone aware of any specials running for surgery in December with vsg in mx? Dr. Kelly, Dr. Garcia, Dr. Alvarz, etc...And are surgeries ever done on 24th, 25th, or 31st of December?
-
I've been lurking for some time now, and I haven't seen Dr. Kelly being mentioned as often as a few months back...what gives?
-
I have posted here in the past, and that is how I decided to check out Dr. Kelly in Mexico. And then POOF!! it seemed like he disappeared. I'm so glad he hasn't! Thank you for replying with the info!
-
Thanks for your responding and being honest! I'm relieved to hear you had surgery recently and that it went well!!! Good luck.

Using funds in an FSA account to pay for sleeve in Mexico...does anyone know if this is legal and doable using funds b4 March 15 from this year, and $5,000 dollars in next years for surgery in January 2013, or February? Kind of excited about this possibility, but not putting the cart ahead of the horse just yet...lol

I feel like hiding at all times, and not from a few but everyone! I am so aware of my size that I can't even be comfortable at home alone, but at least at home I am alone. It's kind of strange that I've shared on this forum the things I've shared as I usually lurk but stay hidden like you might see me even here. I'm in the process of getting this all figured out so I can have this surgery with Dr. Kelly, but a part of me feels like a failure for having to do something so drastic to myself to accomplish what I've done in the past, but it didn't last. I do have family and bf that love me unconditionally, but I even close myself off to them too because they don't understand obesity as they are "normal" bmi's. Ok, I'm 5'6", 240 lbs, and feeling older than my almost 48 years! Every step I take my knees ache something fierce, I wear the baggiest clothes I can find and I wear the same things over and over (washed a lot) till I can no longer wear them cuz I out grow them, or they wear out from being washed too much or from the rolls rubbing! I haven't always been this size, but I have always had issues with my weight since I gave birth to my oldest 28 years ago. I'm sure I'm not the only one that has felt like this and been depressed, but it sure feels like I'm alone. Does it really get better after surgery? Does life return to a more normal existence afterwards? Does the back, knees, joint aches actually subside? Does incontinence get better? And does the skin and hair become healthier down the road? For those with asthma, sleep apnea, and GERDS does losing the weight give you relief? For some reason this last year has been the hardest one I've had, and people have been more than willing to let me know they notice the weight and their remedies for weight control, I really want to crawl under a rock, but unfortunately I'm too big. Please forgive me for rambling and being too sensitive again, I'm just having a really bad time at present. But if you feel like answeing any of the above questions I'd appreciate it.

Yes, I too have 4 siblings and the sisters are younger, and are petite (tiny), and brothers are in normal bmi's and older but I look and feel older! I also don't sleep well due to feeling like I'm suffocating, but as bad as this is going to sound I'm glad there are others like me out there that I can relate to. It's also nice because many of you have gone before me and you all can brief me on how vsg has improved your health, and what to expect! For that I'm greatful and thankful to those of you that have chosen to share these things with me including the uplifting words that I'm noticing a lot of us have needed on ocassions. Thanks so much for have a good spirit!

Nutrition Plans From Mexico?
grammyto2 replied to grammyto2's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Thank you! I'm shooting for the end of Oct. beginning of Nov. for surgery. I'm over 1/2 way there financially ( overtimes been kicking my buttocks), and emotionally just about 1/2 way there, and smoking I have a quit day for the 29th of this month (it'll be more than the one month requirement, and praying I make it)! Any how I will most likely be contacting you as the ball gets going in that direction a little more! I definitely know I will need a hand from time to time! -
I suppose this could apply to any of the Doctors in Mexico, but do they give you a plan to follow before leaving Mexico, And do they give guidelines for when you may resume certain activities in writing?

Thanks sunny! I'm going to pass on this for the time being, as I've got some things I need to do before surgery, and I still have to make my date with Dr. Kelly. And from what I understand he'll supply the info I'll need to do this properly at that time. But I appreciate it! -
BFR thank you for your message it is very true, and I needed to see that! I finally got some much needed sleep last night and I'm feeling better than yesterday.
-
