    Airport security issues ?

I didn't think you were saying that at all, sorry for the confusion. Yes, TSA are basically like security officers and not real law enforcement. And despite my lack of flying, it does seem like they are pretty shady. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Airport security issues ?

@@OKCPirate Both my pat downers were females at two different airports, Lafayette, Louisiana and Milwaukee, WI. They were both very professional. I got to see the results from the scanner and the area of concern, which was my pelvic area. I have not flown since 1998 and all this TSA stuff is new to me. I had to practically study to learn what I could and could not take. Lol All that being said I'm in law enforcement and know how to do a proper, professional pat down. If something has happened to me like in the stories you linked I would've definitely not been shy about reporting it. I'm really having doubts as to if it is the staples, as my stomach and staples shouldn't be that far down! Lol. I may not have an apron and use baby powder but I do have some lose skin in that area that I'm wanting to get plastic surgery on. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

It means you fast for 16 hours and eat for 8. Right now I'm consuming between 1100-1200 calories a day in my 8 hour eating window. As a single, working mom I really don't have time work out on the weekdays. I do most of my workouts on the weekends, such as hiking and working in my lawn. When I am physically active on the weekends I usually will take in about 1350-1400 calories, but still only during my 8 hour eating window (I chose 12pm until 8pm for my window) And I do this every day. I use myfitnesspal pal to log my food and exercise. I read about intermittent fasting on their forums and decided to give it a whirl. It's been working really well for me. I've been doing intermittent fasting. It has sped up my weight loss since I started. I do 16/8. My eating window is from 12pm-8pm. I still stay in a calorie deficit during my 8 hours. I had considered 5:2 at first but decided to try this first. I'm now 9lbs away from my lowest weight. 4 years post op sleeve Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Anxiety

Welcome to BP! I had my sleeve 4 years ago. I had lots of anxiety about it and the possible complications. I had issues that in my case, it was an elective surgery( in my mind but it was necessary for my health even if my insurance didn't pay) , as I had to self pay due to insurance exclusion, the exclusion also included and complications from WLS. So I was worried about getting a leak or stricture and raking up a gabillion dollars in hospital bills. In the end, I rationalized it with myself that I needed this. I was almost 300lbs and the dangers of my rapidly climbing weight out weighed the chance I could have complications during and after surgery. I don't think my anxiety was as bad as yours is though. I would speak to your surgeon about your anxiety, and if you have a therapist speak to that person about it. Try to start easing the anxiety a bit before surgery. Surgery jealousy? Is that a thing?

I think it's a real thing. Many years ago, before my sleeve. I remember being at a party at a friends house and a girl I met there (for the first time) had underwent gastric bypass and lost lots of weight. I don't even remember how it came up for discussion at the party. Anyway i remember being super jealous of her and making a snide remark about how it must be nice her insurance paid for it. As mine has an exclusion. I was very envious Fast forward to 4 years ago, my insurance still doesn't cover it but I was in a financial situation to where I could finance it and pay for my sleeve myself. I lost my best friend I have had since the age of 12 a year post op. She's made comments to people we have in common about how I've changed since surgery and she didn't like the person Ive become. We had always been equals as far as size until I lost 100lbs. I started getting more attention and she couldn't handle it. So yeah I think it's a thing Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Airport security issues ?

This is a big body scanner, not a metal detector. I don't really fly that often so I haven't done the tsa pre check thing. Thanks for clarifying that for me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  23. I wish my insurance paid for WLS and all I had to pay was $1500-3000! I financed mine through my credit union. Cost me 14k Just finished paying off that loan last month. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  24. I weigh myself daily, as I stated earlier in this post but I still don't think that is right for everyone. And really you're gonna call someone out on this site for their BMI? Stop telling everyone your way is the right way. It's not for everyone Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. I was sleeved in 2012. It took me about a year to lose 102lbs. So within three years of my sleeve I gained 30lbs back. I did it by eating Around my sleeve. That first year after my sleeve I had developed such good habits, logging my food, being more active. At some point I decided I didn't need to do that anymore and I started gaining weight. Back in April of this year I decided to buckle down and get back to my lowest weight, which was still 9lbs from my goal weight. Today, June 20 I am only 8 lbs away from my lowest weight. I went back to basics, starting logging my food in myfitnesspal again, Protein first, eating at a caloric deficit, weighing and measuring my food. I'm feeling really good about me again. I'm not a big exerciser, I hike on the weekends, go to the gym when it's raining. I've been able to lose almost all the regain all by eating in a caloric deficit for 2 months. I plan to log my food forever! Lol I know our situations are different as to the regain, but it does happen. You just have to decide to get back on track. You can do this!
