I am impatient!! No doubt about it lol. I have been waiting 20 yrs to get back to health so the sooner the better

Thank you DeAna and Risky!! I too research and read everything wls. This has not been a decision made lightly or on a wim. I know this is the right step for me. I have ben overweight for 20yrs and have tried everything so this is my reset button! AND IM HITTING HIT! HAHA IM SO READY!

I have not been told I am diabetic or have sleep apnea but I have been on blood pressure meds for 15 yrs and have 12% function in my Left kidney and I am a cancer survivor. I am ready to hit that reset button and get back to healthy living. I was a healthy teen, I am a second degree blackbelt which I attained by the age of 16 with alot of hard work but you couldn't tell by looking at me now. I have kids I want to be here for and 2 grandkids who love their nana and would love to have her around for a long time. I have lots of reason but It never seems to be enough to keep me motivated for more than a few months at a time. I know I can do this and I have to believe this will be the tool to help me.

Im not banded yet so I cant say that I know what you are going through exactly but I know pain very wellso I will be praying for wellness and a positive spirit to be on its way very quickly. In the meantime take care of yourself and take it easy for a few days. I have also heard the gas strips for the gas pain is very helpful.

okay here is an update just for info sake....I called pre certification dept at my insurance co to get the exact requirements and here is what they said...Need to be over 40 bmi with a co morbidity, need to have 5 yrs of dr. records proving your weight has been obese, you must have 6 months of weightloss attempt under dr supervision with dr noting in file or 2 3 month attempts. ww does not count. must have phsyc eval and dietitician eval.

I just wanted to stop by and say hi to everyone. I have been lurking around the site for a week or so now and I have seen and heard some wonderful things going on in this community. I have noticed a very close family - like setting of unique and diverse individuals and I love it. Everyone can have an opinion and people accept it and motivate and keep striving for what the ultimate goal is, a healthy life at a healthy weight. I am impressed and I hope I can be accepted among you to give and get experienced opinions and motivation. Yeah i got that part I was just confused on the inability to show weight control over a minimum of a 5 yr period and be documented in a drs. notes. Does this mean I need to diet for a minumum of 5 yrs under a drs. supervision or just have proof that my weight has been obese for 5 yrs?
